I called yesterday trying to add it and after waiting for about 30 minutes was told my booking was not eligible since it was a casino offer. Then why is there a banner add on "my bookings" page for the cruise!?!  HAL really needs to get better web content management.

-Paul

I was told the same thing yesterday and my PCC called back today to say they’d gotten further guidance that it is available on the casino rate. Probably just need to call again. Hopefully they’ve gotten it straightened out.

Really doesn't seem like it will be cost effective for me.  Too bad I can't substitute crew incentives for the shore excursions!

But I'm the verge of booking a casino offer for next January.  Hopefully I would get more use from it then.

The details of this offer state that you must have booked your cruise prior to April 21, 2022, so I am not certain if it will apply to a new booking.  Better ask when you go to book.

So, what if you've already booked a couple of excursions and, of course, paid for them?  Add HIA, cancel your excursions, then rebook them?

Interesting.  I just logged in and the banner no longer shows on either of my bookings.  It was there yesterday!

Thats what I would do on my excursions.  I just checked on my account and the banner is still there for both bookings.

I may call my PCC and see what he has to say.  Still not sure whether it would really provide much value for me with the long port days.  On sea days, I could get drinks in the casino.  And only planning on 3 ship excursions for the two weeks.

See, as an accountant, I have to run every scenario to see whether something will save or cost me.  I can't just tell myself, "yeah, do it!!" 😄

This is my scenario for one of my 2 cruises booked with Casino offer. I am going to call this morning to cancel the Beverage package we purchased and purchase HIA.

As far as the banner not showing - i don't know if its a bug but it seems to come and go with mine, Just keep clicking around and it will come back. I think you have to call anyway to book, so even if you are not seeing it, it should still be available.

Thanks for the info!  My PCC was able to add to my July sailings for $45pp/day.

Just wondering if payment has to be made immediately (as is the case for the casino booking)?

I was told no yesterday when I emailed my PCC but she emailed this morning saying they got more guidance and it could now be combined. Fingers crossed it works for you too!

Well, the crossed fingers must have worked. We were allowed to add it this morning. 😁 Thank you very much for the heads-up about the change in policy, Andi!

For everyone else on this thread who has been told 'no', keep trying until you get someone who says 'yes', especially if you see the banner ad. It seems like a lot of the PCCs/agents aren't up-to-date on this yet.

I too had the banner appearing and disappearing on my booking.

I called my PCC and she originally said 'not allowed'. I explained how it was posted here on Cruise Critic with someone posting a picture of the banner on their booking. She said if I were to see that to forward it to her and she would investigate.  It did appear and I did forward the page. She called me back saying it was a very new policy and that yes I could apply it to one of my bookings where it had appeared.

In the end we have decided not to add it to our present booking. as it is a back to back for a total of 28 days and the numbers just didn't work out for us. I would definitely explore it more closely for a shorter sailing.

Great news though for all who can benefit from this!

Thanks to the OP for sharing this information with us all and I hope to benefit from it myself in the future.

Hi, Rochelle.  Hope you are doing well.

I'm going to call my PPC in a minute and add it to my Alaska B2B even though I'm not convinced it will save me any $$.  I know it means I'll probably drink more! 🤣

Good morning!

Just wanted to share that when I logged into my online account to check in for my June Alaska cruise, I was given the offer to upgrade to the Have it All package at $50 per person per day even though I'm booked on a casino rate.

I reached out to my PCC and she got it added to both of my casino rate cruises.  Just an FYI for anyone else who might find benefit to this package.

I saw the banner a few days ago and inquired about it and was told no.

Then I saw your post last night so I called this morning and was able to have it added to my booking.

The agent did state that it is not available for all casino bookings.

Thank you for posting this. It is a great package deal!

Talked to my PCC.  I'm going to add it to my B2B since I'm going to book at least 1 HAL excursion on each leg, and will use the dining.  And, of course, the drinks!

Also checked with him and, yes, if you've already booked excursions, you'll need to cancel them, then re-book (assuming they're still available) so you can apply the discount.

I just added to my Alaska B2B @ $45/pp/day as well.  Not a huge difference, but I was expecting $50.  That $5/day difference gives me $70 that covers one of the other excursions I plan on booking.  I'll take every little bit I can get! 😁

Has anyone had it applied in Canadian dollars? Do you know what it broke down to in Canadian? I believe they add it to the base fare?

$786 Canuck dollars (1 week, 2 people).

I wanted it added in US though so I could use the gift card, but just stuck it on our Credit Card. Will try to do have added to another Casino booking in US$

Hmmmm I wonder why mine is coming up at 874 Canuck Dollars? I am never booking in CAD again, will always be in USD going forward.

Odd - mine was just yesterday .. so can't be that much currency fluctuation. I wonder if the $45/day or $50/day thing got fixed. The banner says $50, but everyone seemed to be getting $45 and mine seemed like $45. That is why I was trying today to call in and add to our other Casino cruise, in case it sneaks back up to $50/day which is what your rate sounds like.

Did you buy the insurance? If so, the insurance may have increased due the added value of the package. I had that happen on one booking. I got it for $45 pp on one booking and $50 pp on the other. No rhyme or reason.

No - no insurance or transfers, but they can't seem to tell me how much it is in USD ... they say $45 USD but the math doesn't work

That’s what I’m wondering.  I was on the koningsdam for two weeks.  Near the end of the second week I got the email to upgrade for $45 usd per day.  I got my pcc at the time to work on it which was a pain because we were at sea and by the time she got around to it, it was late.  If I remember correctly it ended up being around $450 cdn for 7 days which I thought was pretty high given the exchange.  I mentioned it being high.  She never told me why.  I assumed after a while it must have included the hal platinum insurance.

I think that it got added at $50 per day, I am going to have it removed. Then see what to do next.

Thanks for your help 🙂

Maybe mine did too as that would make more sense.  I just love not getting answers.  Hopefully now that I’m using a knowledgeable ta questions will get answered.
