We have tested several times at Heathrow Terminal 5, you prebook your slot the service was great results in 30 minutes

Was there a queue?

When I flew from T3 in March there seemed to be long lines outside the covid testing facility on the forecourt

The testing facility at LGW has shut due to

lack of business and demand!   Given that it’s only cruise ships that require this test now ( you can travel to most countries freely without a negative test) I think it’s going to become harder and harder to find testing centres.

Thanks, I guess at the moment there are a lot of airlines flying to USA from LHR, but if they lift restrictions I guess it will be the final nail for testing at the Airport

Spent 20 years working at LGW, I have a special place in my heart for it,  though it has massively changed since I worked there

I’m sure rapid testing is available at FCO airport but yes, I’d be tempted to just book a Qured/DocHQ/whoever video call, take the kit with you and do it in your hotel.

Thanks for your input.  We will try and get at test at FCO on arrival.

We have booked Lloyds Pharmacy ones online, we have one in our Sainsbury’s. Result and certificates in 15 minutes.

We are all over 18 so apologies no advice for children.

It’s as clear as mud!

We currently have covid in our house so isolating separately OH positive for 5 days and quite ill I am still negative. We go on the 22 May I am literally isolating myself and mask wearing until then!

I have never felt so paranoid about going on holiday.

LHR still have onsite testing.

Spoke to the cruise specialist in our TA today. Still as clear as mud. She is suggesting waiting to book tests as she thinks they may be discontinued shortly.

So sorry to hear of Covid in the house..hope it soon disappears.  Think we will go with Lloyd’s pharmacy too…LHR testing not open when we fly ( 6 am)

I agree with the stress about this holiday. We have just returned from a Princess Caribbean cruise, booked with a different TA and had very clear instructions for testing here and in Fort Lauderdale..not half as stressful, but we didn’t have a minor travelling with us.

It seems as well all cruise lines have different rules which doesn’t help plus everything changes regularly. I have booked the Lloyds ones for 1.5 days before but didn’t need to pay. If they remove the tests I am cancelling those buggers at £29.99 each!

There seem to be a lot of problems reported with Lloyds. From personal experience I'd recommend visiting or phoning the branch the day before to confirm your appointment. We have also used DAM health, we read some scary reviews but they were excellent and we'll be using them again.

I have registered via the link on the site … it doesn’t book you an appointment but it saves paperwork!

Thanks for the info,  have looked on the site and will register nearer the time.

That’s not good I will take that into account and check the day before! 😱

Help ! ….Please!

I am struggling to understand which tests are required for our forthcoming trip.

We are in the UK..seven adults, all fully vaccinated and boostered. One child who will be eleven at time of sailing,  She has had one dose of vaccine.

We have been told so many different stories by travel agent and RC overseas call centre that I am hoping someone who has done a similar trip might be able to help.

Please don’t give experiences from USA as it will confuse the issue further…maybe I am easily confused, but now beginning to stress.

We thought to do FaceTime type tests. But it seems they are not acceptable for minors, believe adults need PCR or Antigen test two days before..from a registered test centre, and child PCR or antigen  one day before from registered test centre.

If anyone can untangle this confusion, by sharing actual experience, we would be most grateful.

Many thanks.

Boots and Lloyds do the tests but need to be pre-booked.

I did say “ most countries”….. the USA is one of the few ones that still require tests before entering

I can feel your pain, the RC Health advisory page is fantastic if you live in North America but not much good anywhere else.  I phoned RC and the guy told me to do the test at the cruise terminal!  Something RC does not encourage at all.  I'm doing a video supervised anti-gen from Klarity 2 days before I board the Wonder of the Seas.  Hopefully this will satisfy RC's requirements.

Used them 3 times with no issues- once they moved my appointment as it was over the testers lunchtime!
Booked again for a few weeks.

I used DocHQ remotely to board Voyager last month at BCN - https://dochq.co.uk/shop

Very straight forward and I will use again in August to board Serenade (if a test is still needed then). You check that there is availability for a video call BEFORE you pay for the test. DocHQ dispatches the test to you - mine was Royal Mail tracked and received 48 hours after I paid. You can use the test at home or if you're already at BCN the day before you board like I was, I took the test with me, still in the sealed box, in hand carry luggage. I did the video call in my hotel room and the GP who "proctored" the test made sure that I have the certificate in my inbox before logging off the call, which I thought was nice. Certificate clearly shows that the test was supervised, including the GP's name and GMC number and when the test was done.

Just booked with Lloyd’s Pharmacy..not as simple and straightforward as anticipated.

Local stores have limited availability..one shows availability on website but when phoned to check they don’t do them at all, next closest only does them on Mon- Weds.

Have booked one adjacent to Sainsbury’s about 4 miles away. They didn’t want to use online booking but took our names and booked us in. Want us to phone in a week to check they have had delivery. Two tests will then be put aside for us.

You don’t pay until you have had test and if no longer required, can be cancelled at no charge.
