Hi we are Platinum status with princess although we have not been with them for a while. Is there a seperate lounge for platinum and elite and what else are you entitled to.

Thanks

As platinum, you will get priority boarding, and that was one of the best reasons to get that 5th cruise credit!  Not waiting to check in with all of the new cruisers is a big plus!

Otherwise, there is an Elite/Platinum lounge on most ships, but I seldom got to use it as we had always had the early dinner seating. With the new dining plans, I m not sure if we will be using it more or not.

On departure day, you can wait in one of the bars with coffee and danish as you wait for your boarding group to be called.

those are the best benefits so far!

That was a massive perk to us. We see the people hanging out in the photo hallway or the casino waiting to disembark. It was great to be able to go to a nice lounge and sit with coffee, juice, etc. I used to take the small bottles of bubbly and use the provided OJ to make Mimosas while waiting to disembark. We also used to take advantage of the discounted drinks at the P/E/S lounge in the evenings. With Princess Plus that is no longer something we care about. We have, on occasion, used the munchies at the P/E/S lounge in place of dinner.

Currently ruby but will turn platinum on our next cruise (May 30). Do we enjoy platinum benefits while on our upcoming cruise or will we have to wait for next one?

Once your cruise is completed you will be upgraded to Platinum.

I’m not that impressed with the 50% off internet perk. We pushed through to get 5 cruises behind us so we would get free internet beginning with our 6th Princess cruise in 2009. We just did our 42nd Princess cruise, almost triple the number of cruises needed to make Elite and had to and now we have to pay for internet again.

Just making sure...that Platinum can go to the "Elite Lounge". Looks like the Princess Patter puts "Elite Lounge" not the full P\E\S.

It's actually for Platinum, Elite, and Suite guests. No idea why they print it that way but then the Patter doesn't always have the best listings for things. This is one of my favorite blunders. It ran in the Patter for 3 days straight.

Steak tartar? Mexican night?  What is this lounge all about?  Is it like a cocktail party?  I find I'm now Platinum after my last cruise.

Different nights, different finger food plus carrots, celery, tortilla chips, dips. Certain drinks are at a discount (which doesn't affect you if you have the drink pkg). It's really not that big a deal.

We tend to go when they have guacamole or shrimp.

It's some hors d'oeuvres and you can get discounted drinks, if you don't have a drinks package.  On the Caribbean Princess last week there were about 1,000 platinum and elite cruisers.  We went every night and never saw more the 20 people there.  It was held from 5-7 pm, so it's somewhere to stop in before dinner.

Finally something I do every cruise that is 100% sanctioned by the gym/fitness centre! There’s hope for me yet!

Oddly enough, we just finished a 12 day cruise and neither one of us gained any weight! We actually got less "exercise" (walking) on this cruise than on many as my wife isn't fully recovered from knee replacement and my lower spine was killing me the entire trip. Odd that we didn't gain weight. On one cruise back in 2015 we did 17 days and I actually lost 5 lbs. We did a lot of walking and used the stairs the majority of the time.

You must be good at resisting the food and deserts as well though. I don’t think I’ve ever lost weight but have had a couple where I only gained 2-3 pounds. Like you, we do some long cruises and I have found that I pretty much max out at gaining about 8 pounds even on the longest cruises which for us was 49 days. But I gained 6 on the one you were just on. Have lost about 4 of the 6 in our first week at home.

It was really free time limited internet. It was a real pain to have to count those login minutes and be very careful to logout properly. Even when you logged out properly, the system sometimes didn't recognize it and then you'd have to argue with the Internet Cafe guy over getting those minutes back. 😠

Give me 50% off unlimited internet any day of the week.

Yes has always been platinum/Elite as far as I know.

Actually when it first started it was just for Elite and full suites.

When Princess found that relatively few people attended, they expanded eligibility to include Platinum within a few months.
