Not according to the terms of the offer at https://www.rclinvestor.com/contact-us/faqs/shareholder-benefit/ True, they don't enforce it [at this time], but they could in the future. 1. Who is eligible for this benefit? Any shareholder with an eligible reservation holding a minimum of 100 RCL (NYSE: RCL) shares at time of sailing. I've only owned this stock 2-3 months, and I'm up almost $2000 -- plus I'm (hopefully) about to get OBC for the second time. I bought at the right time! On our September cruise, we had NO PROBLEM. Sent in the info, immediately saw the credit on our account. Easy-peasy. We're leaving on Monday for a cruise, and I have contacted Royal SIX TIMES about OBC over the course of THREE WEEKS. Right now I'm on the phone -- I was on hold for 90 minutes before I spoke to anyone, and now I've passed the two hour mark. They keep asking me the same information over and over. They keep acting like it's my fault that they haven't credited my account. Update: I was on the phone for 2 1/2 hours yesterday with RC Resolutions -- no help. I'm quite sure the woman thought I was trying to scam her. At the end of the call, I told her truthfully: I accept that I'm not getting my OBC, but this is unfair. You've treated me disrespectfully, and I don't feel heard. To what address may I write a letter about this situation? She gave me the email RoyalGuestRelations@rccl.com, and I wrote a calm, truthful letter about what had happened. Within an hour I had a form email saying I'd hear from them soon. Before noon today I had an email saying my OBC is credited. THESE PEOPLE ROCK! 17 hours ago, Biker19 said: You don't need to hold the stock to get the OBC - only need to show you owned it at one time. I'm not trying to cheat anyone -- I really DO own the stock. I bought at the right time (super low), and it's making money. I wasn't asking for any favors -- just what was promised to me when I bought the stock.

Considering I've cruised RCCL/Celebrity 4 times since then - $400 is a very nice return on my $2500 investment. Plus I got $100 OBC on my next three cruises. How do you account for the money you paid for the new cruises you are getting the obc for? The way I understand it, no cruises booked, no obc. I have gotten dividend checks for many years , from other investments, without having to spend a penny. I’ve got a couple investments, that in a couple of years I’ll have recovered every penny I paid for the stocks, and still have it.

It might work But T&C is clear that you need to hold it as of the sailing day Now, it is different matter that it is impossible to verify the ownership as of the sailing date using statement or letter from the brokerage as you will be on board For all practical purposes, they stipulate that you do own 100 shares within certain days (statement can be only x months old) but once OBC is given they don't take it back just because you sold off your shares irrespective of what T&C says Edited December 8, 2022 by hal2008
shellunderwater Posted December 14, 2022 #105 Share Posted December 14, 2022 Can confirm: benefit was declined as broker page didn't have my name. Had to resubmit with cover page AND detail page. Done in last 3 days before sailing. Very fast. Also, obc was approved for a casino royale discount cruise (not free just $$$ off).

Shares are tracked electronically for shareholder voting purposes. Might want to be careful about selling the 100 shares one owns prior to cruising and still expect to find the OBCs on one's account when one cruises. Very simple for X to delete from the account when shares sold and where's one's defense??

Most shares are held in street name.
LinRon3 Posted December 22, 2022 #111 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Ya know, benefits are nice, but the more they are abused, don't ya think RCI would be incentivized to maybe take them away? Just sayin'.
neverbeenhere Posted December 22, 2022 #112 Share Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) No incentive to remove the OBC as it helps keep the sales rolling for “those with the secret”. Edited December 22, 2022 by neverbeenhere
Morecruisesplz Posted December 29, 2022 #113 Share Posted December 29, 2022 I have 3 B2B cruises starting on Jan 2nd. I bought RCL stock again yesterday. Do you think it is too late to submit? If not, all 3 in one or each cruise separately.

mac66 Posted December 29, 2022 #117 Share Posted December 29, 2022 I don't know about you guys but I bought shares last summer when they were pretty much at their lowest (July '22) just to get OBC. So for the price of one cruise I get an OBC rebate for every future cruise I take. I don't cruise to get the OBC but since I cruise anyway I may as well take it as a dividend. Although the stock price is up $18/share (as of today) since I bought it. I also bought Carnival shares at the same time @ $7/share. Probably won't cruise on Carnival but HAL and Princess do the OBC thing as well and we might sail those in the future. And who knows, if Carnival doesn't go bankrupt their shares might be worth something someday.
