Edge Oct 24 T/A now going to Azores rather than Bermuda

The Azores (Ponta Delgado port stop) is Beautiful! Made a stop there on a TA and joined a tour put together by a fellow cruiser. Was one of our favorite stops of the whole cruise. SO much to see, so different than any port stop in this part of the world. We toured the island, walked on a beach, viewed the lakes, had a meal with a local family, visited the hot springs, a traffic jam with the local dairy cows, fields of pineapples! So much to see. Would go back again in a heartbeat! Jealous! Enjoy

Changing a port just because of these simple rules is stupid

There's nothing simple about testing ~2000 passengers on board mid-cruise. Skipping Bermuda is a completely appropriate move by cruise lines.

Next year we are going to be on the spring TA with Edge. I Hope they will not change Bermuda to azores.  Bermuda ist one of the reasons we chose this TA. Changing a port just because of these simple rules is stupid. Anyway lets hope and see.

Bermuda is not a guaranteed stop on TA's.  We have missed it twice because of winds, etc. Our last cruise the Captain elected to skip the port 3 days before we were scheduled to arrive. Headed south to San Juan and the islands.  If you really want to see Bermuda, the best way is to fly there.

We are on the same T/A.  Am confused about Covid testing prior to boarding in Rome.  We are in Italy for a week prior to sailing so testing in US is not an option.  Must tests be proctored or just self administered?  Thanks for any insight.  On hold for hours at Celebrity CS.

Go to the roll call for this cruise, there is a lot of information posted there.  Though bottom line, the final plan has not yet been announced by Celebrity yet.

There would be no reason for them to.  The ones they’re changing are ones where the Bermuda stop is more than four days into the cruise since they require an onboard covid test.
