Just got off the equinox, biggest tip is in front of the fitness center there is a viewing area that is great to visit while pulling into or out of a port

I've been on Equinox twice and will return in February.  Thanks for the tip...I just read about this spot for 2024's Silhouette sailing...now I know it's a great spot for my upcoming sailing.

Thanks,

Susan

We are on Equinox on Oct. 6th. How was the entertainment? Any where to watch college football?

Thx

I just so happen to see a college football game on at Craft Social one evening; there's also TVs at the casino bar that had sports on yet I rarely walk it as it's off to the side.

Very welcome, you actually have to walk through the fitness center to access it.  When they invite various groups to watch from the helipad you can see them all.

For future questions, I probably WON'T recall many names of the crew.

What was the capacity, please? Did the back to backs have to test?  Do you know if Ian was at the Sky Lounge bar? Also I assume Z was still at the World Class Bar.

What was the capacity, please?  Just under 2300

Did the back to backs have to test?  Wasn't B2B but my best guess is "yes" because both the sailing I was on and the next were 9+ nights which requires testing.

Do you know if Ian was at the Sky Lounge bar?  IDK, never sat at the SL bar, simply utilized their waitstaff.

Also I assume Z was still at the World Class Bar.  IDK, didn't spend much time at the WCB.

They have sports in the craft social but I guess no guarantee what they show, they had some American football and some proper football showing.

Entertainment for us was average, no theatre shows we fancied but we know that’s a personal thing, and the house bands sang the same songs daily so first ti e good, got boring. But just to show I’m not a whinging Brit, overall the trip was brilliant, love the equinox and back on next year.

And I have a question too - why do Celebrity stop at Martinique on Sundays. It’s a French island, mainly Roman Catholic so all but closed. We found a few shops open but even the fort wasn’t, and we have covered this in our cruise feedback, surely they can amend the itinerary so it’s on any other day.

There are some pros to this as a crew member told me.  I did validate the following, the only X ship visiting is the equinox and ONLY on Sunday, like the crew member said.  They are only allowed to stop on sundays as that's what the government wanted, they didn't want to congest the island on working days.  A lot of locals avoid the areas by the port so you get less congestion and crowds.  Took the ferry and there were still plenty of restaurants and even some shops open.  But attractions like the fort are indeed closed.

Missed this from earlier.  The entertainers are all great but prefer for a lot of music.  Otherwise there isn't much going on particularly in the day time on sea days, many read books/kindles and play cards/boardgames with each other.  The main show is at 7pm and repeats at 9pm shows.  The musical is maybe a concert or maybe a show with a story line with props but it was a musical.  I cruise on X quite a bit and a lot of the "production" shows are the same on all ships like "Topper" and "Broken Strings".  The entertainers were all great but IMO, X needs more variety than just musicals and I also wish they replaced the production shows with well known Broadway shows like RCL does.  We were on a ten night sailing and nine nights it was a musical and one night was a magician.  I love comedians and we had a few shows that were at 1015pm including on a night before we had a 7am port of call the next day.  I'd much prefer they have a multiple comedians a night like RCL or Carnival.  On land and sea I've probably seen 500+ live comedy shows, this comedian was one of the funniest live shows I've ever seen.  This was despite several people around us who felt the need to scream out he uses the F-word too much.  In summary, I think they would benefit from a nightly comedy show, more variety of shows and more things to do on a sea day during the daytime.

Did you see any laundry deals while on the ship?

No; I've been on 8 X sailings since the restart (4 on the 'Nox as I prefer avoiding the Bahamas and Mexico) and have never seen a laundry deal advertised.

The entertainment was typical Celebrity. Lots of instrumentalists who were all very talented, especially the guitarist, and three production shows. It did become a bit repetitive though. They did a Broadway musical show but it was mainly the more contemporary shows they highlighted which didn’t sit well with some members of the audience. The magician was good but he did have some technical issues which  didn’t help. There were two house bands, both competent but repetitive. They seemed to play Hotel California every night at seven when we were going for dinner.
There were afternoon game shows and presentations by the cruise director, Pete, on sea days in the Celebrity Theatre. I thought the cruise director was very entertaining and gave us some insights about how Covid affected the crew when the epidemic began.

They were showing sports in The Casino Bar and the Craft Bar but only saw Tennis and F.A. football in the passing.

All in all, it was a great cruise and the crew were fantastic.

Pretty much agree with you word for word.  They also had a passenger participation shows by the Activity Director most if not every night at 8pm.  I do understand in the daily activities there's always some event going on but they'll block off an hour for archery competition that's over in 10mins due to minimal participation and they also block off two hours for a movie playing.

I should have given special mention to the check in process. We were given a 2pm check in time but pulled up to a luggage porter at around 1:30. Breezed through the various check points and were in our room within twenty minutes. What a difference.

Shucks. I’m on a B2B2B next year and was hoping something would be offered mid cruise.

How was the food? Was there a waiting time for Select Dining? Were the pool crowded?

Overall the food was no better and no worse than on previous X sailings.

Only ate the MDR for dinner once, no wait; ate at Blu most other nights.

Have been in Carnival pools where you're literally shoulder to shoulder, nothing close to that.  Hot tubs, both indoor and outdoor were very packed late morning and all day but usually dead except if sailing away 5pm and later.
