Here's what it looks like onboard:

Why thank you Ombud. That info will work for me on our next trip very nicely especially since we don't really want to be forced to use it for an unnecessary tour.

Yes thanks. I also will be happy to use the credit however I wish.

Very interesting. Have you been able to actually use it for any purchases?
Besides Shoreside Excursions”.

Yes. Actually I haven't used it for shore excursions.  Just Sabatinis, transfer back to plane, and drinks. Very little for casino.

We've decided to use ours at Sabatini's in place of a beach tour which we consider a waste of time, since we've been to most of them many times before.

Thanks again.

We'll use ours for the steak house, if we can get a reservation. I keep reading they're hard to get once you get onboard.

We've never had a booking problem but then again we always eat at the earliest time available, which most people don't want. We also never go on formal nights either, which seems to be more popular for some reason.

I booked my upcoming cruise for next month under The Love Boat Sale, which I assume is what's being discussed here.  Even though my PVP said that it's for shore excursions only, I'm also wondering about this.  I have one excursion booked, but would love to be able to use the remainder for other onboard purposes.  I do recall that it specifically said that it can't be used in the casino or in stores on land, but it didn't specify that it couldn't be used on anything else.

I would love updates from anyone cruising after year-end.

We had never had a problem, either, because we eat early.  However, we were on The Enchanted over Thanksgiving and The Crown Grill was sold out before we even got on board.  I checked back twice once onboard to see if there were any cancellations and there were none.   First time for us!

It's no wonder they keep raising their prices.

Unless I read the post incorrectly, @Ombudadvised they used theirs in the casino.

Yes. Wound up with only $14 balance due (after SD, Vines, $50 casino (casino bank wound up at $202 🤑), transfer back to airport). Smallest bill yet

Walked off with $200 .... thanks to winning not losing in casino this time. They'll get it back in April

I don’t think that their credit was obtained under The Love Boat Sale, so it’s still unclear whether or not the same terms apply.  We need to hear from those who specifically booked with that sale and whose cruises occur after January 1st.

Incorrect. My Love Boat Sale 'SHORE EXCURSION CREDIT' and was supposed to be for the sailings next year as part of that sale but this voyage became eligible as it was drastically under booked

That said, not continuing to follow this thread .... just thought it was interesting that the ship cannot differentiate between different types of OBC (other than refundable / nonrefundable)

I stand corrected.

Just to confirm, we just returned from our cruise and had no problem using the Excursion Credit in their casino just like any other OBC.

Thanks for the info. Good to hear it from a recent cruiser. 😊
