Can confirm: Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" played on Sirena for pool deck (Sat 0830 11/26/22)

I was so happily surprised to confirm the mention some time back in a thread on music that someone thought they'd heard Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" on an O ship. Yes, Virginia, that song was played on Sirena's pool deck on Saturday November 26th, 2022, at 0830. I was so pleased I wrote myself a note and hummed & sang the song to myself all that morning! They played all of it but the very last moments (not unlike who some radio stations play songs as they fade out).

And my wife spoke with one of the string quartet members who told her that someone requested Led Zeppelin so the quartet played their instrumental version of "Stairway to Heaven", too.

It was I who heard it at breakfast in Terrace Cafe aboard Riviera and subsequently posted about it.  As soon as the weird instrumental break in the middle was completed, the song was cut to some other muzak-style song without bringing back Jimmy Page's guitar or Robert Plant's vocals.  Maybe some diner of a more recent generation asked the maitre d', "What the heck is that?" -- and that was the end of that.

I really think playing the Immigrant Song on a loop during an Iceland cruise should be on everyone's  bucket list.

Yep heard it too on Sirena😀. The music around the pool was pretty reasonable. DW was chuffed that Ed Sheeran was played. Preferred the pool ambiance to other lines. They must have listened to @pinotlover 

 

The music in the lounge was more what my elderly mother may have enjoyed.

The only other two songs I heard on Sirena that really stood out for me were:

 

- "I Melt With You" by Modern English (1982)

- "I Would Die 4 U" by Prince and the Revolution (1984)
