Thanks Eli !  I used to know how to do that, but this is our first cruise since Covid and I couldn't figure it out anymore.  I thought there used to be a Community tab or either a way to Message him, but now it will appear as a Post right on his main page ?  Is that correct ?

Yes.

So, about the Pride Dry dock wish list lol....

I just got off the Pride

#1 need is to fix the A/C! On Night 1 they couldn't get our A/C to turn off, so they had to give us extra blankets. I believe their fix was to disable it as we didn't have A/C for the rest of the cruise. Many others I spoke to in in different cabin types on different decks also had A/C issues (some too cold, but most had none at all)

#2 most of the public bathrooms need reno and deep clean. Some were quite disgusting, broken locks, and one had a leaky roof (I don't want to know what was above that stall)

#3 sound systems everywhere. I missed every captain announcement. Could hear he was talking, but never heard what he said. Missed most of the CD announcements too. I'm not sure where on the ship the announcements could be heard, but not any location I was.

#4 Thrusters (I think). I'm not an expert here. We had to bypass our Costa Maya Port. We were late leaving Belize (due to an onshore car/horse accident that delayed people transporting back to ship by 2 hours). When we got to Costa Maya there was wind/weather issues, but other ships were able to dock. We were told it was due to weather, but some were told it was because our thrusters could not get us into the available berths. That could all be crap though, and I'm no expert.

Side note....I've read that some ships have removed the casino bar. I spent many hours daily in the casino, and if they didn't have that bar, I never would have gotten a drink. Wait staff was extremely minimal and was an ongoing issue.

All that said.....I had a great time on the Pride. I loved the layout, and there were some great staff. It's a really good ship and I hope they use the drydock to make it even better.

I really like the Pride class ship. Sure wish Carnival would build a new ship that class. Tampa can''t use anything bigger.

The closest you'll get is a light renovation like the Luminosa, I'm afraid. The mass market lines are only going to build ever bigger ships. Eventually, likely decades in the future, Tampa will have to decide if they want to be a mass-market cruise port and build a new bridge/cruise terminal free of height restrictions.

Of course the Spirit class ships aren't going anywhere any time soon, so Tampa doesn't have anything to worry about in the next several years.

I'd love to see Guy's Burger Joint replaced with Big Chicken, and potentially the addition of JiJi Asian Kitchen. Could they convert one level of David's Steakhouse into a different concept?

They can do anything they want, limited only by their budget really. I think the new dining concepts are sorely needed on Carnival's older ships and should be non-negotiable for all drydocks going forwards. Guests really demand them these days.

So - I didn't read the 5-page wish list... just looking for any facts/details.

When is this dry dock occurring and how long is it scheduled for?

Has Carnival (or Heald) announced any of their plans?

We're scheduled for a return trip to the Pride (in our favorite Spirit class cabin) in November... IF I can talk Cheryl into getting onto a smaller, outdated, old ship! I got a great deal, but that's only part of the calculation!

Agree, but Guy's isn't going anywhere. If you could fit in Big Chicken, Street Eats, Chibang, JiJi, etc. somewhere else, great! They already fit Bonsai in on deck 2 on Spirit class. Not sure where that would go, but smarter people than I are working on it!

Yeah I'm not sure where the replace Guy's idea came from in my quoted post. Nothing is going to replace Guy's for a long, long time. It's one of the best concepts Carnival has ever come out with.

I agree!  I was very happy with my Guy's burger last week on Magic.  Heck, I wish there was a Guy's in my town!😉

My last few cruises I feel like they haven't been as good as they were before, but maybe my tastes are changing (I can't eat as much greasy foods as I used to be able to) or maybe I wasn't getting fresh ones as I usually only go when there's no line.

I do sorely miss the grilled mushrooms topping as well.

If they would get rid of the "art gallery" , that would free up quite a bit of space for them to put in 1 or 2 of those eateries. Of course, they might have to rearrange some other places to free up the eateries places. I never saw the need, or justification, of the art gallery.

I can personally think of a few thousand reasons why I wish they didn't have one !!

I have to say mine was freshly made.  Makes a difference👍

I also think the Guys quality has gone way down. My last few this year on several ships were pretty disappointing.

I had two Guy's burgers on the Liberty over Christmas. They were both very tasty - they're not always that way (sometimes luck of the draw... not as fresh or from an angry cow... dunno).

Sort of like the roast beef sandwiches at the Park Café on Oasis class ships - I've never had one I didn't LOVE, but some people report much different experiences.

Yeah, I'm sorry for the confusion. You were replying to a post that suggested they replace Guy's with Big Chicken, that's where that came from.

ESPECIALLY on the stinkin' Dream, but that's another thread altogether

Tom

April/May 2023.  Last debark is April 26th on the TA over there.  The first post-dry dock sailing is (hopefully) on May 28th, 2023.  So, I guess the dry dock is a month long.

I have heard nothing official from Heald.  Everything I have heard has just been speculation as to what they are doing. It at least needs paint and a deep cleaning.

They could get rid of the Rapheal conference room and the Raphael Lounge. Not even sure what that is....and I have been on the Pride. I have no memory of either.

The two-story Beauties Night Club also seems like a waste of space.  Or make it just one story. They could put an eatery or bar on the upper story of the Beauties Night Club across from the Alchemy.  They could use the deck space by the apollo forward pool (along where that wall is where the bathrooms are but they open to the interior) to do a Big Chicken or a Street Eats. Or put an eatery where the beauty salon is and put that in the night club. There also seems like there is quite a bit of wasted space on deck 10 where they could do something.

And what is the Captain's Club fest annex?  Is that where they do the Chef's Table?

David's steakhouse "balcony" also seems like wasted space. Why does the steakhouse need to be two stories? It seems like I just recall there being weird statues on that level with their private parts showing...or maybe I am recalling the Splendor. (May be thinking of Splendor as it had the weird artwork of the guy sitting on a toilet.)  I personally have no problem with private parts, but OMG my boys have to point it out every.single.time.
