The slinkier the cheese, the more I like it.  Especially with a nice glass (bottle) of Burgundy (or dry red, whatever is available) wine.

That does not kill you will make your macrobiotics in your large intestine stronger and more gaseous.

I have received a similar email from Royal Caribbean. Too bad for them, after 34 cruises amounting  to nearly one year at sea, you have  eliminated a benefit we have enjoyed for years. With their announcement of this change reducing many of us to peons', I have found it necessary to announce our change. BYE BYE Royal Caribbean! NO MORE ROYAL CARIBBEAN FOR US!

I'm supposing that they have the Diamond Lounge in addition to the Concierge Lounge.   Is the Diamond lounge not sufficient?

If you truly feel you are being reduced to a peon, then I think you are making a good choice.

Never considered the smell of limburger cheese as slinkier. 😉

LOL, you've got a good point.  It is also better when it is "Stinkyer".

LOL, almost did it again.  The spell checker suggests "Slinkier" and I just accepted it without really looking.  Apparently, Stinkyer or Stinkier isn't a real word.  Oh well.

Love it!  I'm a caring and sharing guy.  I really think that Beano should be illegal.

Ok, you need a Hazmat team following you on cruises or you need a Mayo Clinic team to take some samples to avoid what I do not even think I want to know could happen...... 🤮🥵😰😱..

My wife hates it when I go grocery shopping with her.  In the isle I'll stand right next to her and then hit and run.  She's not a fan of my eating habits.

Your wife and mine are two of a kind. Somehow, I am not sure if they would do it all over again 🙄. Thank goodness they do not get do-overs 🤣. We have been cruising through life for over 35 years and there are no lifeboats on our journey. Sink or swim and we are still swimming together 😍.

We've been married for 49 years.  Have always been joined at the hip, except for military necessity.  If you paid any attention to us, you'd think we didn't get along at all.  We pick on each other a lot.  I think our relationship will survive.  Many said that our marriage would never survive.  We'll see!

Love your story.  We are in a very small but sober group.

Next Tuesday is our 50th -- you could not find two more different personalities.

I am a member of the small but not necessarily sober group.

Where's the bartender, I need a refill of my rum old fashioned.

41 years and we are the same.  We pick, but we love each other.  No marriage is perfect even though some will protest that theirs are.  DH drives me absolutely insane, but I could never imagine being with anyone else and he feels the same way.

I enjoy people enjoying themselves free of judgement. I would enjoy you enjoying your rum old fashioned and toast you with something. Happy Anniversary! 🍾🥂🍹

Hi again,

I know this topic has been stretched/misunderstood a bit, but lets be honest here.

Firstly, Diamond members at the time of typing this are not banned from the Diamond lounge on any ship. I do think that they may be banned at some point in the future, which I believe would be a real shame for those cruisers who are working their way up the tiers when they may have been able to have had a similar cruise (perhaps even for for less) on another brand, but stuck with Royal just for this type of perk.

I love meeting and talking to the newbies when they first get to Diamond as sometimes, they have not read or not been left anything to read about what their perks are.

I try and help people as much as possible as we all have to live together onboard for the duration of the cruise, so isn't it a nicer experience if we help each other.

My wife, however, does not like going on the Diamond lounge if she can avoid it as sometimes as she enters she feels like she is being watched, judged and looked down at by certain people who may think that this perk makes them above everyone else, when in fact we are all equal.

I don't care about it and don't let it bother me at all as I believe we are all the same on the ship and none of us are above anyone else, so will give as good as I get, although this is not what I want to do. Anyone else felt like my wife? Or maybe she's just getting old and grumpy!.

BTW the free coffee I mentioned before on the Anthem back in October was an additional drink added to the sea pass on top of the 5 drinks D+ got. Not sure if Diamond members got it too or if it was just for D+ upwards. So it would be nice if Royal made the extra 1 special coffee per day a permanent thing as a way of compensating for the loss of the Concierge lounge access.

Talking of which, if the pre-mentioned incidents with chair hogs and giving guests the evil eye are going to become the norm in the both the Diamond and Concierge lounge then we are better off staying out of both and just using the drinks vouchers at the bars around the ship when you want AND I do now believe that Royal are changing the timing from 0000-2359 to 0500-0459 or something like that so you won't have that issue where ordering at drink at 2358 gets rung through at 0001 losing the drink off that day and taking one off the next without knowing. Also, I think you will now have to sign for each drink too, so keeping a tab on what happens should be simpler. At last - some common sense has been applied here!

Lastly, and most importantly here, please, please, please don't get too upset with the changes RCL are making and remember as D+ members, we get (off top of my head)...

5 free drinks per day to the value of $14 per drink.

1 bottle of wine in your cabin (per cabin) at start of cruise plus another for your birthday if you happen to be onboard for it.

A £35 wash and fold -  Perfect for washing the cloths you arrived in and then wearing again at the end when you leave for home.

A free photo to the value of $20 (getting easier to choose with the computers on board certain ships)

A $6 spend in the casino. The wife won $19 last cruise!

Half price chops lunch on first few days.

Reserved seating area in the Theatre and the Ice/Aqua shows.

If you add all these perks up and subtract them from the price of your holiday (if you already had got a good price) then you should see that for the price per day onboard, you really do have a good thing going and everything to come back again and again for.

So I would not stop cruising with Royal just yet. In fact, I would suggest for all D+ members to strive to get to 340 points as I really do think something is going to change in a few years and that milestone looks to me like where the better things may start from as more and more C&A members progress.

Hope this helps.

Mick.

Wife and I just got off of Serenade on Saturday, and D+ staying in a 1BR GS... The Concierge in the "Concierge Club", Christian, mentioned why there were no Pinnacles in the lounge on the 12/10 cruise...Why I asked... The number of Pinnacles on board exceeded 38 (I believe there were 55 on board and 200 D+). Thought it was odd (why 38?) The number of Suite guests in there every night was around 10-15. It was quiet for sure. All I could figure out was some RCCL unknown Math ( X% of suite guests per night + 38 Pinnacles = 100% Capacity.) Not sure how viable this 38 is on other classes, but at least some barrier point was reported for Radiance class

Mick don't forget robe & water +some goodies awaiting in your cabin.  In addition, 2 free days of internet per D+ member in cabin and the balcony discount of $250 per cabin is a major attraction.

BTW, half price Chop's lunch never saw this benefit in the boarding list.

On the Wonder now and their pinnacle number for not being allowed to use the suite lounge is 70 I was told. There are 54 on this sailing

We disembarked as well on Saturday.   We don't use the lounges for happy hour drinks, preferring other venues, using our vouchers.  We love that program.

The frustrating thing was the coffee machine in the DL.  It was always out of milk for my Latte in the morning, and half the time either turned off (supposed to be 24 hour)...or broken.  As a Pinnacle in a non full suite...I did not have the alternative to use the CL for my coffee...or to run for espresso for my espresso martinis I brought to Joel in the VCL lounge where we spent our happy hour.

We were on for two weeks, and always noticed when we walked by the CL...that it was empty.  That is sad for the concierge, bartender, and wait staff in there.  The tips are not lining their pockets.

Hi Ellen!  Are you enjoying the Wonder?   We really loved that ship...with great memories.  Have three more booked with her in the future.  🙂

Truly unbelievable how many reps are at a total loss with accurate information.  .

We had an NCL rep who consistently referred to our Adriatic cruise as our "Adirondack cruise."

It's also amazing how many folks here misread info, and even after being corrected, continue to expound based on their erroneous understanding.

Or is it me?
