I went to my local MGM casino to get an upgrade for my captains club status.

In my case, i'm select so I can get gold status at MGM.

I was told that i need to have my captains club card in order to do that.

I realized that i dont have a card and was wondering if they give you cards anymore.

Does anyone know if they still issue cards?

Have never seen one in 20 years.  MGM took a screen shot of my Captain's Club status.

Give them your Captain Club number.   They need that to check with Celebrity.   I showed them my sea pass  card that showed my status and they said they need the number.  In a few minutes I had my new MGM card.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Captains Club logo'd id cards, lapel pins (remember those?), and luggage tags have been a thing of the past for quite some time now.  When we were at the Bellagio a year ago, the casino rewards desk simply asked for something with our name and Captains Club number showing our status.  We ended up using the Celebrity iPhone app to give her the information she needed.

Still have all those from when we joined and paid ($35.00 PP) to become CC members in 1994.

You have us beat by two years, but we still paid the $35 fee. You must have sailed Meridian back then because Horizon was inaugurated that year. So the fleet was quite small.

Well the "refund" was an OBC coupon ($50?) that had an expiration date of around a year if I remember correctly,.  We were unable to take advantage of it, so they still owe us in my mind.

Nope. The beautiful Zenith. Put in service in 1992. Thought what a huge ship. Western Caribbean. Look familiar? We still use 3 of the 4 luggage tags.

Of course you are correct.  I have the inaugural dates quite wrong.  I think I had 6-8 luggage tags because I ordered a set of two for the whole family back in the day when you could also get replacements.  And I could have sworn that the original luggage tags we were issued were metal?  Anyway all the replacements were plastic and we still use them as well although the we have lost a couple and a few more are broken.

I am still partial to the old style Celebrity logo maybe because of the symbolism--the logo and cruise line together were very different back then.

I meant to say we still use the leather luggage tags. Held up all these years of traveling. The others are a hard plastic (8 of them) but we no longer use them.

Agree about the old traditional Celebrity Logo.

In the past when we went to Broadway trivia. My DH would know most of the answers. We used to get luggage tags, tote bags, neck lanyards for your seapass card. This was years ago before smart phone and wifi.
