Although I read somewhere recently that the spa verandah’s (10048) may have not have as deep as a balcony as a regular verandah room. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Looking at a variety of photos from cruisedeckplan.com, it appears the spa verandah balconies are about 6" shallower than the average non-spa verandah.

I was updraded from inside to lovely midship balcony. The PCC suggested it. I had forgetten that Club Orange includes an upgrade.

CO usually upgrades within a meta category. What was the cost of CO for you?

Looking to book my first HAL cruise on a land based casino offer. Was told that I couldn't upgrade to Club Orange because its a casino offer, can anyone confirm if this is true?

Who told you this?  Plenty of us have purchased CO while on casino deals.

ETA:  My casino offers have been through HAL not a land based casino offer so perhaps the rules are different.

Every promo had rules about combine-ability. There is a code in email promos that starts wil HEP or, if you get postal mail, the code starts with HAL. (Actually rec'd real mail from HAL yesterday about the "Private Sale.")

Some promo codes will combine with HIA and/or CO. Others wont.  For our December sailing, which we booked in April, CO could be added. but not HIA.

I have a question regarding Club Orange stateroom upgrade. My TA told me that we can request the upgrade stateroom  in same category only after the cruise is paid for in full.  Obviously, at that time there is less availability than if we could choose at the time of booking Club Orange, before the date of final payment.   For those of you who bought Club Orange, is that information accurate?

You need a new TA who knows her business. What was told to you is 100% wrong. We have a cruise booked on the Volendam in August next year in a Vista Suite. When we booked we booked a B category VS located towards the aft of the ship, a month later we added CO and got the upgrade to our desired A category VS mid ship.  Obviously, we have not made final payment.

It depends.  I check the HIA pricing vs the "regular" $50 per day add on price and then decide.  On a recent cruise I was able to get HIA for about $46 per day at booking and I took that as it included $200 in excursions plus two dinners (11 day cruise) and I wanted to lock that deal up.

Lately I have been seeing ads in my account to add HIA for $50 per day on 7 day cruises.

Do you mean $50 per day for 2 in a cabin?  We added CO to both of our booked HAL cruises in November this year and August next year for $25pp per day, that would be $50 per day for both of us.

I'm experiencing that right now on current casino booking - I was able to add CO, but have not been successful in adding HIA. 5 phone calls, 3 Supervisors all say my casino rate code is not combinable w/HIA at the reduced $50/day rate. I can add it if I pay full price of $99/day.

@OCJayGuy you may have received incorrect info. I recommend you call the Club Orange number directly. They can confirm availability for CO on your cruise (it's capacity controlled so may be sold out) and check for whichever cabin you want to see if it's available. If you decide to add it, they can also do that for you.

Yes, CO can be added to casino bookings, but can they be added to land based casino bookings? I hope you'll let us kniw.

The information is somewhat right.  You have to pay club orange in full before getting the upgrade.  That seems to be universal now.

Paying for CO when you add it, is not the same thing as making final payment. CO is like most add on pre cruise purchases, you pay for it at time of purchase, but you can request your cabin upgrade at time of purchase.

Yes I fully understand that.  No need to explain.

I was referring to HIA not CO.  And yes, $50 per day per person.

Oops, my bad, I shouldn't respond on CC after 9pm when I am tired. I went back and reread your post and see you are correct. We got the Premium early booking HIA for our Volendam cruise next year and with the added value of premium drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuity, we are paying a lot less than $50pp per day.

Yes, that early booking HIA can be a great deal.  We got it with our upcoming 11 day cruise and the perks we received are well worth the added cost IMO.

Thanks everyone for their weigh in. I lost count but went through about 7 or 8 agents (sounds like casino dept has a lot of folks in training), and wrote down the names of those that told me no to avoid them in calling back lol. We are now booked on a land-based casino offer with an upgrade to CO added. Sounds like they go fast, we grabbed two of the last four spots available (out of 67 total) for a cruise next year. So it is possible, with some patience :).

Thanks for the update and happy to hear you got CO added. What number did you call?

Thanks! I've been calling 800-548-9099. Now we're just debating whether to add HIA. The main CO perk for us is the dining venue, not sure if HIA adds enough value for us since we're not big drinkers.

Koningsdam CO.  21 day Hawaii & Pacific Coastal Oct 5, 2024  $15 per person daily.

Paid upfront but using Advantage Fare.  Upgraded from lowest Verandah to Spa Verandah (I know it is just a Verandah) but wanted cabin location. Used HAL PCC.

FTR, I've added CO and HIA to "free" casino offers.  The only time I could not add HIA was when I added two 5-night sailings to the Rotterdam TA this past April.  It was available to book as a 10-night sailing, which would've meant HIA was available, but the casino offer was for the 2 separate 5-night sailings and HIA is only available on 7-nights and longer.

But, yes, CO available for every booking I've made.  Did not add it to my January Eurodam sailing but did add it to my Fall 2024 Rotterdam TA because that CO dining room spoiled me!

Appreciate the number.

We got CO added (casino booking), but have had no luck getting HIA added. Multiple calls with supervisors involved, left us with a final(?) determination by HAL that it's not combinable with the rate code we used. We aren't big drinkers, either; the math works for us: 14 days@$50/day = $700 - $200 excursion credit - $208 internet - $84 dining = $208 remaining = $14.85/day for drinks. We know we'll each have at least 2 coffees/day plus water, juice and a couple drinks. It sure goes fast 🙄We were told we could only add it if we either paid regular price ($99/day) or had the cruise re-fared (not happening).

Thanks again for sharing number; wishing you better luck if you decide to add HIA.

Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!

Is there a trick to getting HIA added to casino bookings? I'm 5 phone calls in with enormous amounts of time spent on hold trying to get it added to an 11 day and a 14 day cruise. Maybe you are blessed with nicer or more knowledgeable people than I am...🙄

Only one person just outright said no from the beginning. The others have been willing, but apparently hit a road block they couldn't get past when trying to finalize it, so they reached out to supervisors for help. Those supervisors have ultimately come back saying HAL is not combinable with the casino rate and that they have no way to override they system, "sorry, enjoy your cruise." So I hang up, pout, and post again on CC...
