Move up from Verandah Stateroom to Sky Suite Question

Hi,

Just received advice our Move Up to Sky Suite on Eclipse was accepted!  Yay!  But now I have some questions as I am a bit unsure of what perks and amenities we are now able to enjoy.

Are we able to dine at Luminae and Blu?

Are we able to go to the Retreat?  Does the Eclipse actually have a Retreat?  From my googling it seems it may have a Retreat of sorts, but no pool.

Any other perks we are able to attain?  We already had gratuities, drinks package included and our status is Elite.

Thanks

You will dine in Luminae.  Blu used to be space available to all suites but we have recently been told it upper suites only.  But Luminae is way better anyhow.

You will have access to Michaels Club lounge which has been rebranded Retreat Lounge on Revolutionized ships but it's the same thing.  Your drinks in this lounge will be at the premium package level and complimentary.   But outside this lounge your existing Classic package will be used, you will have basic wifi.   The difference in gratuity amount between your original booking and suite are supposed to be charged to your seapass account.   Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

Eclipse doesn't have a suite only sun deck.

You should be invited to several suite events which can vary from ship to ship.

You will enjoy.

Yes they also deliver any meals or snacks you order from Room Service.  DH has them bring OJ every morning.  They will stock your mini bar with soda, water, and beer of your choice. .  Pick up and deliver any laundry , escort you to the reserved seating in the theater for Suite guests on Evening Chic nights.

How do you submit a “move up” and who qualifies?  We’ve only been on 2 cruises with Celebrity and are still novices.

Usually anyone can bid except the Warehouse Club as they do not participate in it.  Usually you will get an invite at about 21 days prior to cruise

In December on Exlipse, sky suite guests were allowed to dine in Blu, if you really want to have a meal there ask the retreat host/hostess.

Apparently that is another recent change.  Only RS and above can dine in Blu.  I’m guessing that reclassifying some Sky Suites as Aqua Sky Suites with access to Blu has put a strain on Blu.

I was surprised our friends could dine in Blu at any time,  it was always busy during prime hours. I’m not unhappy with this decision.

Our experience was Equinox in early September.  Maybe a ship to ship difference.  We were told it was a new directive from Miami.

We're on Solstice right now in Sky Suite. Our butler informed us on the 1st day that if we want to dine in Blu, just let him know and he will make reservations for us.

I have read if you upgrade to a suite you Do NOT get the perks, you only get for what you originally paid.  I could be wrong but I have done a lot of research on that and it seems to be the case unfortunately.

Agree. What you had is what you get.  (new change). . If you get the move up to Suite you are entitled to go to Luminae for your meals, The Retreat Lounge, priority embarkation/disembark.    You maintain the perks you had with original booking.

That may be because the Solstice has been sailing low passengers counts.

I didn’t think stocking fridge was standard for lower suites , we did have it stocked on last cruise on beyond but I thought it was up to butler?

Correct, it isn’t a published amenity but ask nicely and see if the Butler is willing to do it.

You get the amenities of the suite you have upgraded to like Luminae & the Retreat, but you do not get any perks like the premium drinks package/wifi.
