i dont understand her comment about beyond even after reviewing deck plans

The rooms are in their own hallways completely separate from public areas that can only be entered from the bow or stern. Which means you do NOT want a cabin amidship. In smaller ships being in the middle was referable from a stability standpoint. This monster ship is crazy stable. I was disappointed at how little it moved (I like to feel the ocean, but this is good news for those prone to sea sickness) so I definitely suggest picking a room at the bow or stern so you aren't walking a football field and a half every time you leave your room to get to the hallway exit to the main floor, THEN backtrack another 100ft to the elevator/stair bank.

All I can gather (has she ever been on a cruise ship before?) is that the hallways are often a long hike to the stairs or elevators.  If that matters to you then you need a cabin midship or forward near the two elevator bays.  There are no aft elevators.  All cruise ships have long corridors that contain just cabins…no public areas off them.

Maybe they stayed on deck 3 which is really the only deck that has both public spaces and cabins.  Otherwise the statement about cabin hallways being completely separate from the public areas doesn't make much sense.

The review doesn't seem to be written by someone who knows a lot about cruising.

I agree.  The comment about not being able to be ashore during the entire time the ship is docked is telling.

I think the reviewer's issue with the E-class is the lack of an Aft elevator bank and stairs, so the walking distances from the two elevator banks can be very long. The logic they use is nonsensical because even the smallest and oldest cruiseships use the same cabin and hallway design, there's no way around that. They just didn't know how to explain their frustration with only having two elevator banks so they came up with an explanation that is uninformed and just wrong.

I also don't know what that reviewer is talking about. Beyond has elevators and a stairway that are most certainly mid-ship.

The reviewer claims to have been on 10+ cruises, but the review does not read that way.  It reads more like a first-time cruiser who's heard about cruising and what might go on and then was disappointed.  Or maybe it's someone who has been on smaller Carnival ships or RCI ships.

Yes, the arrival/departure time bit says a lot.  So does the discussion about how big Beyond is.  She's a good-sized ship, for sure, but Beyond isn't even the size of RCI Freedom class ships.

It's a very strange review to be sure. It's obvious that they were actually on the Beyond but I don't know what their previous cruise experience was. Take for instance the comment about coffee in the morning. What the reviewer was commenting on and experienced Celebrity cruisers know is that the coffee machine in the Spa Cafe area is an automatic machine that makes expresso-based coffees which is complementary. They found that but they then conflate it with Cafe Al Bacio which of course is a pay venue. The coffee served at the buffet is drip coffee. Then they go on to mention that their prior experience was morning coffee stations placed on every other deck on the ship. I don't know of any mainstream cruiseline that does that or used to do that.

She claims to have traveled everywhere and complains about long walks to the elevator and rooms.    Apparently she never been to Las Vegas and stayed at any of those large casino hotels.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Yeah, the 'shaving off time' at the beginning and end of a port day is...just strange.

I suppose they could have handed her a life jacket and she could of taken a running jump off and back on the ship (the return jump would have to be magnificent!!)  🤣

Is it because the person only was on M-class ships with the aft stairway/elevators?  I don't really understand the review (at all) but I miss (on S class) the aft stairs on M class because I like cabins in the aft cabins and like the quick/easy 'access' to the aft bars, (lol).

The other thing that is strange (at least to me) is that when I do a member search for the author's CC name, nothing is found.  It's like they don't exist. Link

OMG.  There's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.  Too much love/hate going on there for me.  Maybe the treks around the ship only seemed long because she was trotting around in dense carpeting wearing high heels.  That sounds exhausting to me.  Coffee on every other floor??  Hmmmm

The Silhouette used to have a coffee setup in the Hideaway, if memory serves. Not sure if any of the other S-class ships did.

Edit: a quick search shows Reflection had one, too. Perhaps after COVID, they disappeared.

No, they didn’t disappear.  Both ships still have a coffee station in the hideaway. They are the only ones to have this. It’s one coffee station, not one on every other floor, so I have no idea what the person the OP quoted might have been thinking of
