LIVE from Radiance Apr. 21, 2023 - The Panama Canal - Canal au Niveau de la Mer

When I left my cabin this morning I could smell the faint textile smell of new carpet that I caught when walking past them the other day as they were replacing carpet in the forward stairwell.

I suspect they've replaced more carpet somewhere overnight.

Enjoying your report.  We’re doing the opposite direction in the fall.

I have nothing but great memories from our excursion to the Embra in Panama.  I still have a handwoven basket from them and remember the babies sleeping in hammocks under the tables.  Yes the bus trip was long each and Panama was very dirty with trash.  But the village visit was worth it.  I rarely buy souvenirs but this was handmade and unique.

The locks are really really fun to go through.  Amazing really.

Here's the video the ship created to instruct guests how to disable MAC address randomization.

This is such an issue that there were lines at the Voom desk for several days into this cruise.

This impacts all ships so be prepared and save yourself the headache of dealing with this when you board a ship.

The Entering the Pacific Ceremony

King Neptune, a.k.a. Vernon our LA, held court over the scoundrels who tried to slip into the Pacific and for crimes on board.

GSM and Activities Manager were up next. Crimes of closing guest service in port so he could go on excursions and failing to bring the CD coffee were allegated.

Is this the fix for the phone losing WiFi  as you move from one router to another?

When that occurs it is usually the device at fault.  Access points have little control over roaming.  It's entirely up to the device to choose to associate to another access point.

Does this “ritual” happen on east bound? Doing that one in October. Looks like it would be fun!

Vision did something similar for a Northbound transit in 2019.   They did it midday while we were in Gatun Lake.

For those keeping score with Starlink... new gateway city.  I think I saw this IP on our way South.

I imagine, depending on where a Starlink satellite is and the direction it's going relative to the ship's position could see us changing gateway cities one test to the next.  Pretty cool stuff and a lot of tech involved.

We had an excellent Pinnacle lunch today with a fillet 🥩 that equalled the one offered in Giovannis imho.  Wine 🍷 offerings were much improved too.

MDR back on form tonight… the Thai chicken had a kick to it and the pork chop was good.  The Greek spinach pie is much bigger than before.
