Programming on Regent Transatlantics

Considering a Transatlantic on Splendor next Spring. Have never done a Regent TA.  What sorts of enhanced special activities/programs/entertainment are usually available on a TA compared to usual trivia and one or two enrichment speakers and one evening show available on most cruises. Anything extra or special?

We did TA on Splendor from Miami to Lisbon in April 2023. Activities were pretty much like any Regent cruise that has some sea days: usual plus a Country Fair, evening dinner/dance on pool deck, a "Build-a - Boat contest (depends on CD). Loved it BUT we hit bad weather (missed Azores) and I had difficulty adjusting to 5 or 6 times changes

Often an officers v guests daily challenge. shuffleboard, baggo & the like.

The casino usually has some tournaments.

As you are on Splendor, an occasional long leisurely lunch in Chartreuse or Prime 7.

If one of the sea days is on a Sunday you may have an extravagant brunch in compass Rose.

Regent has great lecturers on board, you can look forward to many interesting events. Also, I expect there will be many opportunities to play bridge and perhaps have some bridge lessons.

Enjoy your cruise!

I would love to see a few items like a paint and sip, a special cooking demonstration, a passenger dance or singing contest or anything that took a couple of hours instead of 45 minutes.  I don’t really like sea days, but I would like them better if the activities had more meat to them.

We were on this sailing with you and thought daily activities were average for the most part. We did a Cruise Critic sail away from Miami that was a terrific way to meet people. Weather and seas were not great.

We too were on this cruise.  We were never bored but we enjoy sea days to not have an agenda other than getting out of bed and eating and drinking as we decide and the hours pass by.  A good book and a drink be it water or stronger and I am happy.  Did enjoy the boat building contest albeit 1 entry.  What entertainment we saw we enjoyed especially Krew Capers.

We were on Voyager a week after you guys. I think we fared far better on the weather front.

The agenda was OK, country fair as described (a little blustery, probably the 2nd worst day of the trip weather wise other than leaving Bermuda) but all in all, never bored but we're not big activity people. I could see how the country fair might not be everyone's cup of tea, but some of the activities were enjoyable. They need a better system for awarding prizes though, some ppl had literal hand fulls of tickets and no place to put them down in order (especially with the wind) which made the limited time to claim a prize a more stressful experience than it should have been.

Duplicate bridge if you are a bridge player.

The cooking classes on the newer ships are excellent.  You must reserve in advance.  They fill up quickly.

I second the country fair.  I usually do not participate in such events but it was a lot of fun.
