RY, sometimes saturation is necessary, a written form of waterboarding if you will. It can serve to bring entities to their senses when nothing else works. Lots of people said lots of things and that's a good thing. I feel in this instance, Celebrity turned around, without warning and gave all its customers a swift kick in the groin. I'm still doubled over. This test is not now, nor will it ever be a good thing for us, or for Celebrity. They were too ignorant to see that, however. Perhaps now they can regain their senses.

 

You are right. Many times, there are too many similar threads concurrently in motion. Most times, it is overkill. Sometimes, it is necessary.

In case you have not been paying attention Celebrity has been doing this for the last 6 months or better.

 

Regaining their senses?  One can only hope...  But they have been tone deaf for quite a while now.  The almighty dollar runs all of their decisions.

Then I urge you to saturate Celebrity directly. Saturating cruise critic with multiple threads is a waste of time, and only creates extra work for the hosts.

Well I’m in the Super Duper Deluxe Penthouse where the Butler has their own Butler.  And I did get a response from Celebrity.  They told me to go back to Viking and stop bothering them.

 

Wow, my dreams are wild.

 

If I ever get a reply in my lifetime, you’ll be the first to know!

I Must be especially blessed. I’ve yet to sail Celebrity but within 24 hours of emailing them I received a phone call from Miami thanking me for my support of the new policy. I’m much more in awe of Celebrity as a company than I am of their passengers.

I am not concerned about the hosts. They have a job to do, they do it. Whether of their own volition or because of outside influencers. And thanks to you we will link these two together. Multiple CC threads, and vaping in casinos (including tests), most folks want neither and both are a waste of time. Thank goodness they will no longer be a concern.

I got a call yesterday from Aurora Godfrey, who works directly with Laura Hodges Bethge.  I sent an email to the Executive Office email, and I copied Hodges-Bethge on her email address, lhodges@rccl.com

If you haven't emailed her directly, I urge you to do that, along with the executiveoffice@celebrity.com

 

As others have reported, after sending my email, about two days later I got an email response with our B3B on Apex this fall quoted.  I also had included our Captains Club numbers - just to make things a bit easier for them to find us.

 

Aurora and I spoke for nearly 30 minutes.  She used to be a Retreat Host before being promoted to the Executive Office.  She was lovely, very genuine, personable - no surprise there.  If what I conveyed will make any difference, who can say.  She was typing throughout nearly the whole conversation, as she told me she wanted to quote me directly, though the conversation was also recorded.  She assured me that what we are all saying matters, that she files a report with Laura every Friday, that this is a very hot topic and that they are closely monitoring all social platforms.  We must continue to make our voices heard.

Sent an e mail to Celebrity executive office on 5th July and received a reply on 6th July, we are elite so not sure how they process the replies.  Some  seem to have phone calls and some e mails and some no response at all. I also had a  reply to my recent comment about the trial menu changes and our upcoming cruise was in the header so they had clearly ran my name through the database last week.

I emailed the Executive Office on 7/6 and received the same canned response, word for word, on 7/7. I politely replied to that response with some further thoughts on why Celebrity felt they need to “test” a known unhealthy practice and expose guest and employees to contaminated air. Hopefully their “test” is just not to see if it produces more casino revenue at the expense of Health and Safety of their guest and employees.

Apparently ... a majority of "one." From a non-Celebrity cruiser? Not exactly overwhelming.

 

BTW, I responded to the initial stock email note from Celebrity. This time however, I added my phone number. Got a phone call the next day. Whatever that's worth.

Of course, that is exactly what the test is all about.  What else would it be?

How would such a test even be relevant?  Most of the hard core gamblers, vapers, and smokers are sailing on other lines...

 

No one knew about this policy change until recently...

Since February I've  Emailed the Executive Office with three different concerns/questions. The latest being this FUBAR vaping one. I've always received an Email followed by a phone call and one of the three a follow up Email after the phone call.
