Carnival Mardi Gras...Best Bar for the Old Fashion.

Our go to drink is the classic old fashion.....we've had good and bad on carnival cruises, best was on Horizon at the Pig BB Q.....didn't want the smoked Old Fashion, just the classic with Woodford Reserve.   Whats the best bar on Mardi gras for a great Old Fashion .?

Normally  i would say the Alchemy has the best old fashions however The Brass Magnolia was our favorite on this ship.  I usually have it with Buffalo Trace though.

The P&A is a great bar on the Mardi Gras.

Fortune Teller has some interesting cocktails.  The Third Eye is an interesting spin of an Old Fashion.

But Brass Magnolia is the better spot for traditional.

My husband and I are both huge Old Fashion lovers, however, on the Mardi Gras we found our favorite drink to be the Smoked Boulevardier at the Pig & Anchor.

Alchemy, Brass Magnolia, and the Steakhouse bar all make pretty good OF. We also really loved the Negroni at the small Italian bar outside Cucina.

Allow me to suggest substituting Nixta corn liquer for the sugar/simple syrup in your old fashioned.  Ya be thanking me later.

I was also pleasantly surprised that the Excel class have multiple bars that can make a proper cocktail now.

Agree-Michelle is a great bartender

Adi and Robert at the Steakhouse bar made us great drinks as well

Just got off of the Mardi Gras on July 8th and the best Old Fashions I got were from Aneka at the Fortune Teller.  They were deeeellliiiccciiooouuusss!  

 

Got a couple of good ones from the Casino bar as well.

I have sampled many....  Had what I would call my best martini ever at Grand View Bar on MG.  Her version of shaken was aaamaaazzzing

Just got off Mardi gras....went with Brass Magnolia....excellent, good presentation too.....superb. Hurricane is a must go to also...
