We are about 2 weeks early for the fall colors.  Just a few trees are showing color.

Crossing an old railroad bridge was really interesting.  Local school classes painted panels.

Loving your photos. BringS back memories of sailing our sailboat from Mackinac to Cleveland a few years back!,   Thanks for the photos!!

If you are interested in the history of Detroit, and it's close proximation to Canada, read Jeffrey Eugenides books. He is an author born in Detroit, and while his books can be controversial, (as any good book is), he does give some history on prohibition and how bootleggers would drive across the lake Canada.

Any pictures of the Gord Howe bridge that is under construction?

I saw it but didn’t take a picture.    I commented that you wouldn’t want to turn on that bridge.   The bridge isn’t joined yet and just drops off.

That must have been an adventure.  I live reading other Live posts.   They always bring back wonderful memories.

This looks like Grosse Pointe or the nice northern portion of the detoirt

I think so. We took a nap and we had passed Detroit when I awoke.

The temps have been warm.  Possibly the tropical temps from the edges of the hurricane.

Incredible dinner.    A solid 10.  Far outstrips Celebrity meals.

Hi Jim,

Thank-you again for the superb photos of your trip! They are really beautiful!

I do have one or two more questions about your experience.

I don't remember your itinerary, but does it include sea (lake) days? And, what type of activities are available on a small ship like Le Bellot, when not in port?

Mr Hockey to me... Go Wings!

Cheers

It is said that fans would send fan mail to Gordy.   The only address was Mr Hockey and it would get delivered to him

Mark Howe also in the Hall of Fame said people in the stands would try to rile him by saying that he will never be as good as his dad.  His reply. “you are right and nobody else will ever be either.”

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

All of the Breads, Pastries have been far superior than Celebrity.    On the pictures the fist is of a couple Puff Pastry small rolls.    The dinner roles are traditional French and come in White, Rye and Whole Wheat.

The pastries in the morning are incredible -   They usually have a plain croissant, Chocolate, Pastry Cinnamon Roll, Apple Tarts  etc

I think you could get away with Nice Jeans at dinner.   Most dress for the MDR but they offer alternative dining on the Main Salon and outside.   Almost the same menu sometimes one less dish.   You  serve yourself for Cheese, Salad and desert and table service for the main courses.

On this cruise we only had one sea (Lake) day.   That was yesterday as we sailed from Parry Sound - through the River between Lake Huron and Lake Erie.    This included a sail by Detroit.

They don't have as many items to keep passengers busy but had-

800 - Yoga

9:30 - Lecture - First Ladies of the White House

10:30 - 11:30 -  Blue Eye for quiet time

11:00  - Trivia

2:00  - Cruise by Detroit and talk by the Bird Trainer

3:00 -  Lecture on The Saint Lawrence Sea Way

4:00 - Tea Time

6:00 - Live music in Main Lounge

6:30 - Farewell Coctail party in Theater.

7:00 - Gala Dinner -  all dine at same time unless you wish to dine in alternative venue

9:00 - Show - Dancers of the Ballet - Paris C'Show and Margot, Singer

They also have games in the lounges and tables for card games in the Photo Studio
