I had heard that Footloose would no longer be on the Norwegian Joy starting on this cruise. However I just did my check-in and they had where we could reserve show times for Footloose. I'm wondering if anyone has heard any updates or if this is an error on the website.

most likely an error on the website, ncl is not the greatest at having the latest updated information and there is also a lot of HQ and ship miscommunication problems

onboard the ship expect your reservation to be canceled and new shows to be put in place

yeah, it's a bad website update, (or lack of update.)

they have the disclaimer about it not being available after october 28th on the very page where you can still make an active booking for the show.

i'm on a B2B on the joy 10/16 and 10/28 and i am looking forward to seeing it on the 10/16 cruise. some of the performances of "footloose" on my cruise last september were canceled due to covid among cast members, so i never got to see it. i did see it on broadway 25 years ago and it's not a very good show, but i haven't seen the NCL production.

There is a reason other than cost that it's being eliminated. It's just not very good.

I also booked it on the phone. Was told that they're not sure just what is going on. My thnking is that if it is playing, I'm booked, and if it's not and they have another show(not much hope) i may or may not be booked. I have seen it several times before so if I miss it-not a big deal.

they are absolutely sure what is going on. the call center reps see it in their system, as we do in the app, and THEY do not know what is going on. so they book it, as we can in the app, and they justify it to their customers by saying… well, they’re not sure yet what is going on. that’s because they assume there must be performances if they can book it.

many here assume that, too.

the contact center reps can’t conceive that it’s faulty programming in the computer.

i’m onboard the joy now. i toured the backstage area this morning. the last performances of footloose are on this cruise, ending october 28.

yes, it shows that, and that is good, but at the same time, it still allows you to book it.

my best guess is that it will disappear next week. i think it’s there because they don’t know how to remove the booking option without canceling the existing valid reservations for this week’s performances. just a hunch.

I did not use the call center as I booked through the casino and I talked with my rep in the casino.

you talked to whom? somebody onboard in the casino? or your rep, your consultant, at casinos at sea? those are call center agents who specialize in taking CAS calls. everything i said applies to CAS agents as well as ordinary call center agents.

i attended the final performance wednesday night. they made a little speech about the show closing. trust me, folks. the show ain’t coming back. it won’t be running when you’re onboard, even if you hold a reservation.

What did you think of the show? We weren't impressed, and probably wouldn't bother with it next time, even if it was available.

Apparently they are replacing it with "Wheel of Fortune" game which to me does not make up for a lost show that was free. Not so sure this game will be free. We shall see. I don't mind the games but I really would like at least one good show on the ship.

Elements remains as the main production show on the Joy.

On the Prima, The Price is Right Live was free. On land, they charge $75-$125 to attend one of the The Price is Right Live shows.

Good to know....that's all I need is one show. I did the Price is Right on Prima and it was OK...hope the Wheel will be free too.

Your casino rep is exactly the same as the general call center. They have no more or less insight into what is happening on the ship. Like the general call center, all they can do is "google" their call center system and tell you what it says. Arguing with them that the show is history,,, is pointless.

The booking system kinda is a one-size-fits-all system. If the service is offered on any future cruises, then it will appear on the system. For example, back to the Joy, a Thermal Suite pass appeared in the booking system for our cruise last week, even though the Thermal Suite will not be installed until February. It is not sophisticated enough to filter on specific dates for activities, nor does it need to be that sophisticated. Despite what people "claim" here on CC, I do not believe that anyone books a cruise because "Footloose is onboard".
