Maybe it’s time to start the packing😅

The folder of paperwork is finished and all good to go.

On those longer travel tours I have a a4 map holding 40 fixed/permanent pockets.

So all paperwork is listed chronologically in order of the tour from page 1.

From the back it’s long lasting paperwork for several trips.

So page 1-xx is typically air ticket, hotels, tours, cruise ticket, luggage tags cruise etc. So as we go, the paperwork goes away (unless something happens)

From the back it’s “permanent” paperwork.

Its marriage certificate, vaccine documents, copy of travel insurance license, valid visas ESTA, ETA Can, Indian visa, Sri Lanka visa, 3x copies of each passports.

The Cats 🐈🐈 are staying at The Queen’s house during our holiday🥰

Not to happy about the suitcases😾

Why the need to take your marriage certificate, if you have a passport?

Because we don’t have the same last name. I kept my own last name and Mr kept his.

And I have looked a lot younger than Mr🙈 We can laugh about it and we joke about it between us😂 But….

We have had problems several places on this. This has applied for hotels, customs/boarder controls.
We have several not funny stories about this… I will tell you one:

We had one situation in Asia, we were almost not able to check in on a very luxurious hotel in a double room…. It was not accepted to stay in the same room as your secretary😳

Since we were not Mr & Mrs🙈

We needed to have a chat by a manager and it was really not fun.
It’s not fun to be addressed as my husband’s escort….

After this incident and 2 others, we decided it’s better to have an attested official printed copy of our marriage certificate in hand.

Okey, let’s just get in by my sales gig for Norwegian Fjords cruises🤭🇳🇴

(You all know I’m not sponsored or paid by Hurtigruten, X or royal for this😂😂😂)

BUT it’s my pleasure to share why you should book a Norwegian Fjords cruise🇳🇴❤️❤️🤍💙💙🤍❤️❤️

And now is a perfect time!

1.The NOK is almost for free💰💰💰

2. X has an excellent sailing on Apex 08. July 2024 12n🇳🇴🤩🙌🏻

3. Rccl has a great sailing on Jewel 30.May 2024 12n🤩🇳🇴🙌🏻

4. Rccl has a great sailing on Jewel 5.July 2024 13n🙌🏻🇳🇴🤩

What is very important on these itineraries is that they travel above the artic circle

You will be on 71’n at North Cape🎖️🇳🇴

If you want to sail deluxe….. this saling on Silversea is also a decent cruise…..

Silversea Shadow 22.july 2025 12n Hamburg to Tromsø. (You can sail the other way also, same itinerary)

IMG_9308.thumb.jpeg.29c205972e315642f8cfe379342ed4b0.jpeg

If you have a flexible calendar and are a bit more open minded, don’t need a show in a theatre daily and can deal with the fact that the entertainment and fun is the view and scenery🤩🦌🦅🦉🐳

Then you should book Hurtigruten or Havilla Bergen-Bergen. Spend some days in Bergen or Oslo prior to the sailing, you have plenty of things to see and do🤩

IMG_9310.thumb.jpeg.75430b623940def8f44f9c8e3625895c.jpeg

We have sailed Hurtigruten on a full sailing and port to port frequently (we use them for visiting Mr Norwayladys family❤️🇳🇴)

IMG_9309.thumb.jpeg.bd6c51be6667098f10a87b26afec71c4.jpeg

The scenery up north is beautiful and totally different from Bergen, Geirangerfjord and Flåm.

So you will be rewarded for those extra days on a cruise🤩🤩

And you will enjoy the midnight sun 24/7😎 in the summer season and during autumn 🍂 winter ❄️ you have excellent chance of seeing Aurora Borealis

IMG_9311.thumb.jpeg.f8ff106c8b39374347167ebdf50233c1.jpeg

What's not to like in Helgeland?

On next cruise….🤭🤔🤭

Maybe I can get a job as a speaker🤓🙃 to give future cruises a boost😂🇳🇴

Beautiful 🇳🇴 Norway 🇳🇴

I have enough footage in photos and lots of great tour options I have visited and tried out🙌🏻 😂😂😂🤭❤️🇳🇴 (It’s important to actually have tested the “product” before you can recommend it🤓👍🏻🫡)

😟

I feel you, I'm 16 years younger than my husband (mentally maybe not so much, he's a big kid) but I never took his last name either. His family have a Dutch surname and people struggle to pronounce it. I already have a difficult first name with Jeannette, people either pronounce it wrong or spell it wrong so I opted to keep my surname. But makes it trickier if he was to travel.

I'm on the one following this on Apex to Norway, I didn't have enough vacation time to do a longer cruise. It has 1 stop in Zeebrugge (I've been to Brussels so going to go to Bruges this time), Flam, Geiranger and Bergen 😁

Jumping on board to enjoy another Live!

This looks like a great cruise and moving up to a Sky Suite along the way…. Wow!  We enjoyed a Sky Suite on Edge back in the day and it was outstanding! Love the window between the bathroom and inside the cabin. Take advantage of the Retreat! I have to say I really like the infinity balcony too.

Also, glad to hear about your Japan cruise since we will be joining DaKahuna in Japan.

Safe travels!

Cheers!

So just to take it up a notch….

In the beginning of September we had beautiful Aurora Borealis in Oslo!

🤩🙌🏻🤩

It’s not normally for us, but the sky was on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I was happy working late from my office looking outside on the sky🤩

My friend René loves Lofoten and Longyearbyen🇳🇴 So if you want some smashing pictures, feel free to follow him🙌🏻

And further north it was perfect🤩

Still unsure if you should go to Norway 🇳🇴

We're on the Apex to Norway on August 16, 2024 - only 7 dqys, but that's what our friends wanted to do.  Then we spend 4 days in the South of England, and get back on the ship for a Scandinavian 12 day cruise.  Very excited.

Have we visited Muscat before? Yes😂

By our first cruise, MSC Lirica in 2011.
We went on a shore excursion to Nizwa Fortress.

Muscat is a very classy Arabic style city.
So this is a very good and decent trade off to an extra sea day😇

If you're looking for things to do in Muscat I highly recommend visiting the Grand Mosque.  It is absolutely beautiful!

Looking forward to following along on your cruise.

I’m very happy for Muscat vs just an extra sea day️

We have visited Oman before.
Last time on a cruise, we went to Nizwa. The fortress was nice.

Unfortunately are we docked on a Friday. That’s mosque day. So it’s closed for visitors.

And the opera house is closed. They are closed due to the situation in Gaza.

I emailed a tour company asap when the changes was officially.
They do only some of the tours they offer on Fridays.
So we will see what we plan for….

Muscat city is beautiful. I remember first visit, it was just like I arrived in an Arabic fairytale🤩

⚠️⚠️BIG Warning⚠️⚠️

The cruise is in November🙈

You all know what that means….

It’s Movember!

This is Mr’s favourite time of the year🕺🏻🕺🏻

Let’s just say, I’m extremely happy when it’s 1.December😝

What will I be married to this year🫣🤔🤭

IMG_0278.thumb.jpeg.0fc73a4e2214dda43da38c63924af950.jpeg

So that’s something to keep in mind if you see some pictures of us😅

(Or if you are onboard and see us around🙈)

Just to give you a taste of it……

Mr had really planned it perfectly for his new driving license card😂😂😂

It’s issued 5.days before 1. December🤭

Thanks.  There's no overlap.  We do overnight in Oslo.  Would love to meet you guys if you're around.

You have a very good itinerary for both cruises🙌

Im a bit sad that you dont visit Bergen together by your friends. (For those following on IG you know I visit frequently)

But you have some very good ports! You will enjoy it🥰

Haugesund, Stavanger, Flåm and Geiranger covers a decent taste of Norway🤩

For the next adventure, Best of Scandinavia, you have a very good lineup.

Skagen is not a big place, but the light.... the light.... It's a reason why it's very famous for painters.

Grenen is the tip of Denmark and the light.....Perfect for painters.

If you need planning help. Visit Denmark is very good and offers great service.

https://www.visitdenmark.com/denmark/plan-your-trip/grenen-skagen-gdk640520

Stockholm, Visby and Copenhagen are all wonderful.

Your sailing times for Stockholm is good for viewing the sail in/out. (less good for time to visit Stockholm, but the archipelago is gorges)

Visby is a nice stop. This is the island where Pippi by Astrid Lindgren was filmed.

Copenhagen has plenty of time, so you can do a lot if you want. Perfect!

Oslo, WELCOME

You can enjoy lunch during sail in to Oslo. Drøbak is the most narrow point of the sail inn. You will pass Oscars Borg and you can almost touch it.

Very happy for your overnight stay.

I will probably be home in Oslo🙃

The Opera season is on in September. So depending on the schedule, you can attend a ballet or opera performance in the evening.

You have plenty of options in Oslo.

Normally the weather is good when you visit. School has just started again and then the sun is normally shining during working days😂

If you need help for Oslo or something. Just search up the thread in Scandinavian ports of call.

I post the cruise schedule for Oslo when it's ready for 2024 arrivals. It will say where you are docking in the city and if you have other ships in port by you.

Thanks for this.  Great info.  I was in Bergen in 2015.  We had quite an adventure, including a public bus.  Great fun.  I'm hoping to see Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, but that's as far as I've got on this trip, since I'm still finishing up working on our Mega trip in the Spring.

I'll give you my email address.  If you're home, maybe we can have coffee or something.  It would be great to meet you.

Thanks again

So it’s soon time to hit the show on the road live!

We are flying to Rome on Saturday 28.10. Red eyed 06.00AM flight on SAS via Copenhagen.

We will spend the night before our flight at Radisson Red OSL. So we can just walk straight through security and onboard our flight😇

In Rome we are staying at Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi Hotel. It’s located close to Termini. So it’s easy access to the train from the airport and the train to the port. Nothing fancy or expensive, but hopefully it will cover our needs for our stay.

We have been to Rome several times before on weekend trips and by cruise.

My cousin lived in Rome for several years, so I frequently visited him there. So this will just be time for relaxation, walking and just have a good time.

To make sure Mr is feed on Italian dishes, I booked us a food tour on Sunday. He loves this type of activity.

Bags are done and the cats will de delivered to the Queen tonight.

IMG_9368.thumb.jpeg.dfa9dfd00ffdad792b44bbb8487e2489.jpeg

Thats all you need for 4 weeks away. 2 suitcases 15kg and 17kg. And one carry-on backpack each.
