Denny01 Posted November 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2023 For those who either have booked on the Ascent or just an interest in the newest Celebrity ship, thought you’d like to know Ascent departed St Nazaire France 7 Nov EST (1:45am-ish on 8 Nov local time) and is heading to Fort Lauderdale. the ship completed its Sea Trials in September and appears to be doing just fine and is making the TransAtlantics at about 16knots. It will stop in Freeport Grand Bahamas on 18 Nov and enters Port Everglades morning of 19 Nov. Then departs on the 4N Thanksgiving cruise I booked on 22 Nov. This and a shorter follow-on cruise are pre-christening shakedowns, and should be special. The ship is being named 01 Dec. So all looks good. We have a lively discussion on our Roll Call on how Ascent is doing and we are getting excited. So for all us Ascent cruisers, things appear to be on schedule and should be fun on the newest E-Class ship. Den 6

Rare hcat Posted November 9, 2023 #11 Share Posted November 9, 2023 from Marinelink : Distinctive ship features and new experiences include: The Retreat, an exclusive resort-within-a-resort area for suite guests, highlighted by a two-story sundeck. Accommodations for modern tastes from modern two-story villas with private plunge pools to staterooms with infinite verandas, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. An expanded Rooftop Garden and stunning Resort Deck featuring unique cantilevered float pools. A multi-level, multi-terraced Sunset Bar at the ship’s aft. An expanded onboard entertainment program featuring a transformative nightlife experience on the Resort Deck, six new live productions, interactive gaming experiences, and more. A redesigned casino floor and brand-new games. A new outdoor dining terrace at Blu, the brand’s clean cuisine restaurant for Aqua Class guests, available for al fresco daytime dining. A newly designed Le Voyage by Chef Daniel Boulud. And, the return of the Magic Carpet, an engineering feat soaring cantilevered above the sea, offering guests uninterrupted vistas while sipping cocktails or having dinner. Most Interesting was the description of BLU having an outdoor dining terrace.." available for al fresco daytime dining" Hmm wonder if it will be lunch for AQ Class only, or available to all...for extra charge???

Diamond on Royal. Now looking at Celebrity. I’ve heard good things about the Garden and Resort Deck. Are these available to all or are they ‘For Fee’ areas? seacruise9 Posted November 10, 2023 #24 Share Posted November 10, 2023 Hi, I am looking forward to boarding the Ascent on February 18, 2024. I am a big fan of this ship class (cruised on Apex in April 2022 and Beyond in February 2023). It will be interesting to see how this ship differs from the Beyond. Lastdance Posted November 10, 2023 #25 Share Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) I love all the excitement, but really, really miss all the nuts and bolts that one of our dear members used to provide. She was someone who shared such pertinent information with those of us who loved knowing about the details about brand new ships... I am also booked on here, but much later in the year.
