Headache of trying to get Elite benefits on B2B

Yes, you can go above her head.  If not Customer Service Officer and/or revenue person.  I have been "fighting" with Princess on my next cruise.  Fianlly starting to see some resolutions.  It's not just the mini-bar, it's also laundry, discounts, and other perks that she is denying you as an elite member.

While you are in her office, request that she allow you to call Captain Circle office land based to rectify the issue (on her dime).

That's an idea.  Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

On day one of your new cruise log into your Princess account and see what it shows for your status.  If it shows Elite than go to customer service and see what they show your status to be.  The problem may take care of itself.

I feel your pain…went through the same thing when we hit 150 days in the middle of a B2B several years ago and the Circle host insisted it had to be 15 cruises in addition to the 150 days…I was so frustrated I finally just gave up and waited for Elite benefits on our next cruise.

Update:  At the start of this cruise my medallion showed platinum status and the princess website showed elite status at 16 cruises sailed.

I spoke with the loyalty department manager, and she was showing that I was still platinum.  From what she read to me it looked like the message that she received read that I was not eligible because this is a free casino cruise.

She did go to bat for me and took ownership of the situation and said that she would give me elite benefits and just write a note to herself.  Her demeaner was very friendly and warm.

She said that she did not know why the system was denying me Elite status and I asked her if there was a change where comped cruises will no longer count towards leveling up in loyalty.   She said that she did not know but there are a lot of changes that will be coming.

She gave me the sticker for my medallion and instructed me to come back if I was charged for laundry or had any problems.

I'm very satisfied with the outcome and I appreciate the customer service that I received.   She did not have to give me the Elite benefits.

That's great news. I'm glad you got it sorted out and that she was so helpful.

But, inquiring minds do have to wonder what she meant when she referenced that there were "a lot of changes coming". Princess seems to be shaking things up lately and it is concerning when hearing this coming from the Loyalty host. Makes one wonder if the loyalty benefits are about to be altered in some way.

Wonder if something is going on behind the scenes with comped cruises being eligible in the future for loyalty benefits?

It will be.  I always upgrade my cabin so they do get money out of me.  Wonder if that will make a difference.  Guess we'll find out!

Years ago, we had a similar situation.  I should have been elite for an upcoming cruise, but was only platinum.  Found out that one of our suite stays was only crediting a single credit, not the double credits I should have received.  It took 3 telephone service agents for one to finally understand that even though we were upgraded to a suite, it was an upsell, we paid for the upsell and according to the princess website, we were to receive double credits.  This was way before the bidding process, where they tell you, you won't get additional credits, old rules.

I think what the issue is, is that you'll have 14 credits when boarding for the first leg and the double credits bring you to 16.  I think the system is trying to award elite on the first leg, even though that's not what's being questioned.  And the bookings are tied together, so it only sees ONE booking hence 2 credits.  It's a poor programing thing.  You'll never have a problem after this with loyalty, you'll be elite forever.

I don't believe the casino offer has anything to do with the issue, that's just a shiny object for the loyalty dept to grab onto as an excuse, it makes sense until logic kicks in.

Glad it was resolved.  That's what princess is known for when we have reasonable requests.

She has pulled up my account and does see that I will have 16 cruises sailed at the end of this first leg. She not disputing the number of cruises.

The problem comes into play because you aren’t officially granted your cruise credits or your cruise days in the system until AFTER the entire trip is completed.  But never fear, if you go to the loyalty desk or the future cruise sales office, just ask to speak to the person in charge of loyalty.  I can almost assure you they will take care of it while you are onboard.  We got into a MTP luncheon once because the extra days of our first leg of our B2B didn’t count in the system.  But, she fixed it for us so they did!  Yay!
I just wouldn’t waste any more of your time or frustration on trying to fix it ahead of time.

Oooops!  Just saw your update so you can disregard!
congrats

We always upgrade the comp too.  I just hope if there are changes that they announce them instead of just quietly rolling them out and creating angst for customers and for their CSRs who are then bombarded with angry calls.

The CC Member info shows where you are going to be.  14 before stepping onto ship and 16 after completing the B2B.  You were at 15 after first leg, so Elite for second leg.  They did right by you, but we need to adjust what CC Member area indicates because it adds up booked days and sailed days.  That is misleading for what should be happening.
