Hello

Are you able to use a passport for the Wonder ?

A book passport, not a passport card.

ok, so only a book passport. thank you

A passport card is perfectly acceptable for a closed loop cruise on any cruise ship.
A passport book is more dynamic If one were to need to fly back to the US

Assuming you're an American citizen leaving from an American port and returning to an American port, you can use any of these three for a cruise:

- Official certified birth certificate + state ID (usually driver's license)

- Passport card

- Passport book

Not exactly.  You are referring to a closed-loop type cruise.  How about Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles?  A passport book is required.

You can use Passport card, but it would not be any different from Birth Certificate + DL. So no reasons to get it.

Passport book allows you to return to USA via plane should something happen.

For a cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles?  Passport book is absolutely required.

I routinely cruise from Port Canaveral using a passport card. That is for round-trip cruises.  I have the passport book which stays safe within my backpack. I use the passport card because it is much more durable and can ride around in my pocket without getting damaged.
