Sun Princess Staterooms & Categories

All of the cabins on the Sun have a couch. That is why they are deemed deluxe.

On royal class ships you only get a loveseat in deluxe balcony and above categories.

Actually Princess said all cabins would have a couch or sofa but it turns out they changed this for the lowest category Stateroom, the Interior and it's just an ottoman bench. Better than nothing though!

We are booked in 16621, category S4. I have read posts that say S4 do not have suite benefits. Has anyone stayed in this cabin or is anyone aware of whether or not there are suite benefits? If not I am thinking of cancelling and booking something else.

Which posts are saying that?  Cabin 16621 is a Penthouse Suite and on all Princess ships that is a full suite.  Here is the description of that specific cabin on the Sun Princess:

And it looks like you'll be getting the closest thing to an aft view that you can get in a non-handicap cabin on this ship!!!!! 😄

Will do! What a great cabin for a transatlantic! We only have 2 sea days so it's a bit overkill but we are celebrating our daughter's high school graduation so it will be a nice surprise for her.

It actually is a handicap cabin. Hubby has to use his Zinger chair.

Question about the deck nine Cabana suites on the Cabana deck. Ive seen that you can access the deck through the cabana part/glass door of your cabin.  My question is does the main slider lock so you can exit that way and walk away? Or can you open it with you medallion if you want to enter that way?

If anyone could post pictures of the accessible cabana mini suite 9358 or 9361 that would be appreciated.  Trying to determine if any part of the balcony is private or not and what is the view of that balcony from the Dome.  Thanks.

And just in general - if you can walk out to the Cabana deck from your balcony, what stops people from accessing your cabin from that same exit/entrance?

We are currently in 5429 it is an ocean view and it has a terrible noise and vibration problem. The room is above machinery which runs 24/7. Do not book this room. We have had maintenance look at it as well as the deck supervisor and they all say the same thing, nothing can be done and they need to move us.

Is that on Deck 5?

RIght. Just wonder if there is a locking mechanism for either the main slider of the door from cabana to "balcony"

I have 5431 booked in June - do you think this room would be subject to the same issues?

Well JJCruise have been the first to do the "controversial new cabin type" video about the Cabana but they haven't done their homework. Only the deck 9 Reserve Collection Cabanas have access to the Cabana Deck. Folks have mentioned this in the comments.  And calling a balcony an Oceanview is just mixing up the categories. They are new to Princess.

From the pictures I’ve seen of surrounding cabins, all Deck 9 balconies are open on top and visible from the balconies directly above on Deck 10.

His videos always show way too much of him talking and not enough of what he is there to film.  Most YouTubers can give commentary while filming but he seems to need a lot of face time.
