Healthy snacks and ceasar salad

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Is there anywhere on princess ships, in particular the grand princess, to get healthy snacks?  Ie salads, healthy wraps, etc.

Also is there anywhere to get a good Caesar salad?  Do they offer this at the free pizzeria on deck?

Does Alfredo’s have a good Caesar salad on their casual dining fee menu?

Thank you.

Ceasar salad is not healthy at all. It's high fat due to the cheese and the dressing.

And wraps can actually contain more calories and fat than two slices of bread, so they aren't necessarily healthier than a sandwich.

Alfredo's has salad, but not Caesar. It comes with olive oil and vinegar.

Comments about healthiness aside, here on Caribbean Princess, there's a salad bar at lunch and dinner in the buffet, along with plenty of cut-up fruit. There's also usually a cheese, olive, and meat spread for a snack.

Caesar salad is on the menu in the MDR at dinner and available in the buffet as well. Give it a try and see what you think. In the MDR, you have to ask for anchovies

Yes, there's a salad bar in the buffet, several salad options on the MDR menu,

Buffet has fruit available all day.

Sandwiches and salads, sometimes wraps, at International Cafe.

No, the pizzeria on deck is solely pizza, by the slice mainly.

Room Service/Ocean Now has salad, sandwiches, fruit plates 24/7.

The lido grill has griddled chicken breast sandwiches..

There's a Caesar on the always available menu for dinner. Whether you consider it good - 🤷🏻‍♀️.  Caesar isn't exactly a healthy salad choice - that would be oil and vinegar... If you're watching fats... (Or carbs, for that matter)..

I discovered the buffet on a cruise with Runmotor.  So yeah, I get healthy salads, nuts, tons of raw veggies, fresh fruit. The bread doesn't have as much flavor as the bakeries at home (SF Delta) so I just skip that. So, yes, the salads and snacks are as healthy as I make them

I'll let you define healthy.

You can get salads in the MDRs at lunch and dinner. MDRs also have fruit.

On the Grand Princess at Alfredo's you should be able to order a side salad, maybe with Caesar dressing.

Pizza by the pool serves slices of pizza, no sides. The grill by the pool does not serve salads.

There are no specific locations that have wraps. Sometimes the International Cafe has a wrap or two. There might be some prepared wraps at the Horizon Ct. buffet. Selections change each day.

The Horizon Ct. always has bowls of salad. On a recent Ruby Princess cruise there were two bowls, one with mixed greens the other with romaine. There are also toppings and dressings. You prepare your own as small or as large as you wish. Once breakfast items are cleared, around 11am, salads are placed out. They remain available from 11am until closing around 10pm.

You can also find fruits, such as whole oranges & bananas, at the Horizon Ct. Bananas are normally available at the International Cafe.

Take a look around once on board to see what they have.
