Brad, Brad, Brad..............

LunaMoon:

I have two requests:

1. (not to keep repeating myself, but...) Ask Suncat about the carpet in C752.

2. I am sure that you will encounter Jacinta of the CD's staff. Be sure to give her a HUGE hug from Carol and Nancy, and tell her that a friend found our pictures for us!

Coffee Card in dining room: Yes, you can use it. For cappucino at least (that's all I tried there).

preciouskelly: They did show Rocky Horror on the 7/11 voyage at MUTS. It was a night show, maybe starting around 10:30? Maybe later..

How does wireless internet work on the Crown? When I called to inquire I was told I have to use the ships wireless card, and it would be 10 dollars for 30 minutes. Is this accurate? I do not see why they would not allow people to use their own wireless cards, and anything over 10 dollars per day is highway robbery.

Shame on Princess. I cannot believe they did not wait a week to give them time to fix things and do repairs. Elevators are not working, carpeting, damage. They are not delivering the quality product that is expected from Princess.

They are delivering it at half price and gave all PAX the opportunity to cancel at full refund. Those on the ship knew what they would be getting into and a half price cruise, sign me up.

Thank you so much for keeping us all in the loop, Lunamoon! Would you be able to tell us whether the Crown has the drink of the day? Are alcoholic beverages very expensive? We don't drink alot, but I'm trying to decide if we should bring our own or just purchase a drink now and then from the ship.

Thank you!

Nope, nope, nope. I just got off her and ran up more internet charges than drink charges! You use your wireless card and get an account password in the Internet Lounge (Self explainitory, follow the instructions on the computer). I did have a problem with my card, but FCCORP, a fellow CCer set me up. I think it's me tho and not the ship. The charges are 35 cents a minute. You can use your wireless card in most of the public areas.

I really liked the area outside the Explorers Lounge. It had comfy couches and got good reception. Also of note is that I got a stronger signal 8-8. For some reason it was weak at night and early morning. Yes, I spent too much of my time on the internet parenting from sea!

Yesterday the sea was so rough and the weather so bad that they shut down all the pools and had to cancel the New Production Show in the Princess Theater because they believed it was too dangerous for the dancers and actors to be on stage. I heard that many people were so sea sick that the medical center was packed. There were indeed a lot of very green looking people bouncing around. I am happy to report that Othellocruiser and I must have mighty sea legs and cast iron stomachs because we swayed to and fro without skipping a beat in the never ending eating marathon we are on here.

Instead of the new production show, Sarge performed again in the Princess theater last night. I am a very jaded theater goer, having spent my childhood and life trying to see every possible broadway show ever produced, and I have to say Sarge is a very good comedian. Our Homeboy Tours group of amigos really enjoyed his performance, which indeed was a very last minute fill-in for the scraped show.

We then went to the casino where I (without any understanding, experience, knowledge or even a faint awareness of what I was doing) won some money playing at the craps table by simply following Suncats moves! HA! What a HOOT! Of course it all came to a screeching halt when it was my turn to throw the dice across the table and I hit the coupier right in the chest with one of the dice! YIEKS! Get that lunatic moon outta here!

Othellocruiser and Mr Suncat enjoyed a nice cigar in Speakeasy (which is right in the casino and a very nice cave for manly-men to bond while smoking and grunting :-)

They have begun to replace the carpets in the Horizon and Caribe areas on the Lido deck. I am very glad because the mildew smell was becoming worrisome. I was told that all of the wet and damaged carpet would be replaced during this voyage.

Today the sky is clear and it is finally sunny and warm. We went to the Lotus pool/Spa pool/Buddha pool at 9:30am and it was empty! We looked up at the Sanctuary area, which is still charging $15 for a half a day, and it was empty too. Othellocruiser and I enjoyed our private spa pool for about 2 hours when finally it began to fill up with others. Even then, however, it never felt crowded.

Merion Mom, the Suncats are in C 752! We were there yesterday having a homeboy cabin cocktail party; the carpets look pristine..no worries there.

Also, I will try to track down Jacinta and tell her you and Nancy found your pictures.

Brad, the elevators are all working! I'm not sure if I reported that some were not, but if I did, I'm sorry because they are all functioning.

About the coffee card and specialty coffees - Here is what the card buys you for $24: Unlimited Premium brewed coffee, and 15 specialty drinks of

jamaican blue mountain coffee, flavored coffee, espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino, cafe mocha, hot chocolate, premium tea (there is nothing called chai on the International Cafe menu).

Last night was our first formal night. All of the homeboy gentlemen looked dashing in their tuxedos, and we ladies didn't look like chopped liver either! :-) At dinner, Othellocuriser was surprised with a beautiful birthday cake that I had ordered the day before, and many hilarious surprises from our friends. Since Othellocruiser always hangs a pirate flag from our cabin balcony when we sail, our fellow homeboys gave him a blowup shoulder parrot, an eye patch, a pirate doo-rag for his head, a gold loop earring, and a hook for his hand. And YES that IS how he stayed dressed with his tuxedo on, for our group formal photo portrait! LOLLLLLLL

Ok, now it's time to run and hide before the Pirate of the Crown makes me walk the plank for using all of our refund for the internet!

Oh, tonight's Italian night for dinner, and tomorrow the homeboys are invading the Crown Grill.

Ciao belli!

BAD communication with Carol. I saw Jacinta on the last day (I may have blocked this out till now) and told her we found the photos. Just tell her she's the best! Also ask if they found my tweezers in C752. They did not come home. Just toss them out, but I'd love to know if I was so stupid as to leave my favorite pair there!

Strangle a fake parrot for me! I am so sick of missing that ship. I never sleep like that on land. Sorry about the rough seas. I'd like to publicly thank the manufacturers of Bonine.

Luna, thanks so much for taking time out of your trip to post and for checking on my chai (or lack of it, apparently.) I hope things continue to be smooth in the weather department!! Have fun in Grand Turk tomorrow, and we'll all be waiting for your next post. I almost feel as if I'm there with you!

I just wanted to say that I read the accounts of the CCers aboard the 7/11 sailing and was just sick about the accident. I was on the Crown for a 2 night pre inaugural cruise and fell in love with the ship. Hearing about all of the injuries the passengers sustained as well as the ship was so sad. I loved, loved, loved the Crown Princess. Didn't have a lot of time to get the full effect, but I loved what we did see. The cookies in the Int'l Cafe were awesome! I had some just out of the oven!

I'm so glad to hear she's on the mend and things are getting back to normal. I pray all of the passengers on that fateful sailing are on the mend as well. I've gone ahead and booked the Crown for next August. I'm so glad to hear that she'll be in great shape by then.

Enjoy the rest of the cruise.

First let me thank all of you for taking the time to post much needed info. Although I have never posted, I have been following the boards very closely. I am going on the Crown's July 29th cruise and truly don't know if I would have cruised without hearing your experiences and opinions.

The only true worry I have now is that I am allergic to mold. I called Princess last week and was told that all of the carpet had already been replaced! We would be staying in cabins B207 and B209. Have you heard anything about cabin carpeting being replaced?

Thanks again

Terry

Thanks Lunamoon for taking the time out from your vacation to post here. It's always great to see others post live but it is especially great that you are doing so on this cruise to re-assure us that everything seems to be back to normal and that you are enjoying your cruise.

Looking forward to hearing more about your cruise but most of all, ENJOY the rest of your cruise.

Lunamoon, do any of your homeboy group have kids in the youngest kids club? Have the counselors given them any information on what they would/should do in the case of an emergency?

I know from Nancy that lots of announcements were made for parents and kids to reconnect at club fusion after the tilt. What if you had to go to muster stations? What would have happened then - parents meet kids first then go muster or meet kids at the lifeboats? Were any instructions given about this during your 1st day's muster?

I'll be taking my 3 yr old twins & 7 yr old on the crown Aug 16, so pretty concerned about this.

thanks,

Ainlay
