We are live on the Crown and just had a lovely dinner in the Boticelli Dining Room our waiters are Arpri and Dasca both from Hungary. They are great. We are at Table 84. We paid for two limoncellos and got 4 and we almost had 6 but said no more. Yum yum.

The weather today was a 100 times better than yesterday. The Terrace pool is lovely overlooking the wake.

Tomorrow is Grand Turk.

Question for any of you that brought wine onboard. In another post, they are saying that Princess is only allowing 1 bottle of wine per person to be brought onboard. Did you have any issues with bringing wine on?

lunamoon,

hi my name is jennie. i was wonderin if there was anyway that you could tell the entertainment crew staff, patrick, cameron, and danny, that i said hey. they were like my best friends on the ship and i miss them alot. it would be awesome if you could do that. i would really appreciate it.

just tell them that it's jennie, megan, and caitlin from 2 cruises ago, they'll remember us.

well thanks if you can

jennie

Lunamoon, do any of your homeboy group have kids in the youngest kids club? Have the counselors given them any information on what they would/should do in the case of an emergency?

I know from Nancy that lots of announcements were made for parents and kids to reconnect at club fusion after the tilt. What if you had to go to muster stations? What would have happened then - parents meet kids first then go muster or meet kids at the lifeboats? Were any instructions given about this during your 1st day's muster?

I'll be taking my 3 yr old twins & 7 yr old on the crown Aug 16, so pretty concerned about this.

thanks,

Ainlay

All young children wear bracelets thruout the cruise with their assigned muster station on them. The plan is that the youth counselors would take them to their muster stations. I know as a parent, I would probably still go to the Fun Zone to retrieve my child in case of an emergency but if the child wasn't there- the counselor's would have taken them to your assigned muster station. Hope that helps. You can rest assured that the youth counselors on these cruise lines are top-notch. They are absolutely great.

Can you please tell me what's a Limoncello? Never heard of it....

How's the ship looking now as the days progress?

Any dislikes or likes about the food?

Thanks - LunaMoon - for your daily chronicle on the ship...

We are here at Grand Turk this morning. The sun is shining and the sea is calm. The infamous Homeboys are disembarking for a day at Margaritaville, and your very own Lunamoon is staying aboard the Crown for a little bit of private R and R.

Last night in the Princess theatre was another really good show; a group called Tribute sang many of the songs of the Temptations and it rocked. We children of the 50's and 60's sang and clapped and cheered, and it was lots of fun! (of course the real childern in the audience sat with their mouths open appalled at the lack of decorum of their elders! :-)

Following Suncats every move, word, and gesture I actually won again at the crap table in the casino! Go figure!! Othellocruise kept circling the table like a nervous papa bear whispering in my ear with every orbit, "Cash it in! Cash it in!" HA! Finally, Mr. Suncat took him on the prominade deck to smoke a stoggie, thank goodness!

Dinner was a nice Italian meal. Let's face it folks, when your grandma came from Alcamo in Sicily, and your grandpa came from San Guiseppe Jato outside of Palermo, what can a person do but eat the good food and smile a little. Tonight is Caribbean night in the dining rooms, and we are eating in the Crown Grill :-)

For that someone who asked, tonight is a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at 11:30pm, Movies Under the Stars.

Sometimes, I've come to learn, the head doesn't know what the body is doing, particulary when it comes to Princess headquaters in CA and the actual goings-on on the ship. No, not all of the carpets have been replaced since the water damage of last week's tilt. Yes, they are currently working vigorously to replace them on this sailing.

NYCity, no, none of the Homeboys have young children anymore. My own children are 35, 30, and 26. Othellocruiser and I did, however, get lost looking for the mini golf course and stumbled upon what looked like a daycare center and program. The children seemed happy and occupied and the counselors were attentive; it was a very nicely set up play area.

Laura, Othellocruiser packed in a hard covered small suitcase enough liquor to sponser a raucus private cabin cocktail party! (6 bottles of red and white wine, and lots of rum and lopez coconut milk and pineapple juice for pina coladas...he even packed a blender!! :-) The other Homeboys packed many bottles of wine (which we have been drinking every night in the dining room), and grey goose and all the fixings for martinis, and lord knows what else.

We had no trouble whatsoever bringing these libations on board. We packed them in bubble wrap with cardboard in between the bottles, sealed the suitcase with ducktape and checked it when we got to the pier. We did not take it with us as a carry on.

Love2, I will track down your entertainment friends today, and if I find them I will say a rowdy HI from you!

Sandy, I am a food snob, and yet I have not been disappointed with the food. Honestly, there is so much food available everywhere on the ship, that I cannot imagine anyone not finding something to satisfy their hunger or taste at any given time. True, some dishes are not great; so what?! Order something else is what I do. In fact last night I was not sure about a few of the appitizers and entrees, so I ordered all of them! and just ate what I thought was delicious and left what I thought was not.

It is true that the Horizon court buffet is not necessarily appealing to everyone. I walk through it every day just to see what is being offered, and I have to say that nothing much appeals to me. I have not really taken a look at the fare in the Caribe section, so I cannot speak of it yet.

The Homeboys were confirmed for 6pm traditional dining in the Boticelli dining room for over a year. Yet, when we got on board a few of our group were seated at a different table. Generoso, the Crown table-arranging wizard, sits imperiously behind a subtle screen on the first day aboard reigning over all table negotiations. He rules on all requests with a flick of pencil while a line of passengers with requests wait patiently (and not so patiently :-). We were given several choices to solve our problem and choose to be all be seated together in the Michaelangelo dining room every day at 6pm with the same waitstaff. It has worked out fine.

Yesterday we spent most of the day at the Lotus Spa pool/wave pool/ buddha pool (call it whatever name appeals because everyone else does :-), and my DH just went to the Trident grill and got some hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries, and pizza and brought it all back for me to gorge on while I reclined in my lounge chair! HA! now, how's that for decadence! Today, I will try eating a formal lunch in the DaVinci Dining room all by myself, and then I'll try the afternoon High Tea.

The Lotus Spa is offering many specials today, a shore day, so I might try something called, Ionithermie. Huh? Well, the flyer says that, "it IS the answer," I've been looking for! Direct from Paris, a magical treatment to "get rid of the the cellulite and lose stubborn fat, and make you lose 1 to 8 inches with every treatment!" WOW, let me tell you, if it can do all that in one hour I will buy stock in the product and make Othellocruiser become its CEO tomorrow!!

Ok, I'd better win at craps again tonight if I want to keep posting these updates! LOLLLLL

Ciao CC'ers

Thank you for the excellent update, Luna. Hopefully you can answer a question for me, or maybe one of the previous cruisers. When I was on the ship in June, there were no children. I loved the Terrace pool area and thought how tranquil it would be to be back there reading, swimming, relaxing in peace. Even the deck directly above the pool was tranquil with the water lilly pond, trickinling fountain and seating area. Then we went one more deck up and saw THE KIDS PLAY AREA! I thought then that the close proximity to the Terrace pool area would disturb the tranquility and thought that was definitely a poor choice of location for this kids pool and play area. Did you happen to spend any time there and experience this? I thought I read someone else's post who said it was a very nice area, but I'm not completely sure.

Thanks for your helpful info.

Oh poo. With all the other stuff I forgot. I saw a guy with his toddler in DIAPERS IN THE TERRACE POOL ONE DAY! Grrr!!!!

Limoncello is an Italian drink from the Amalfi Coast. It is made with Meyer Lemons and tastes like liquid sunshine. You can make an aproximation of it yourself, but the real thing tastes better. It is to be served ICED cold. I keep mine in the freezer. It's heaven in a glass. It's lemony and wonderful. Not too hard an alcohol bite either.

Lim-on-chello

I am not so good at writing out how things should be pronounce and my pronounciation of some words is off (Don't ask Carol about nonillion), but my Italian isn' half bad (all those classes I had to take for my first major, that I did not finish. Vocal Performance).

"When life gives you lemons...

Make Limoncello!"

Soak the zest of 5 organic lemons in 2 cups whole grain alcohol for 3 days. (If you can't find the alcohol, use 100 Proof vodka and reduce the water to 1 cup.) Make a simple syrup by heating 2 cups of water and 1-1/2 cups sugar. Mix together and strain out the lemon peels. Keep in the freezer. Enjoy!

Also a favorite:

If you do make it yourself make sure all containers are clean when sitting for so long you can grow germs too....fyi...since alchohol does not freeze you can serve this icey cold right out of the freezer...mmmmmmm!!!

some more great limoncello info.... I hope posting this doesn't make my 8/16 cruise run out!!!! haha!:o

Actually, it is "limoncello" as in Italian, c is pronounced as soft "ch" when followed by "e".:)

Don't like the stuff myself but always bring some back from Italy for friends that do.

Are you staying longer in Grand Turk? Our cruise arrives at 7 and leave at 2 (I think:). Have been watching cruise cam....yes I have no life...instead of getting work done, and noticed it is still there at 3:30 our time, which I think is 4:30 Grand Turk time. Looks like it is a beautiful day and that water is just so blue
