Dear Santa... A Wish List for the NEW Celebrity Ships

Hi Everyone,

I thought it might be fun (and more productive) if there was one topic that was solely dedicated to POSITIVE input / suggestions regarding the 2 New "Edge" Ships that Celebrity announced yesterday.

Having all the suggestions in one thread (vs mixed in with others) might actually make it easier for Celebrity Officials surfing CC to find / refer to

And easier to find means, a higher chance perhaps of some of them being considered from REAL LIFE Celebrity Cruisers

Lol, cannot hurt... Afterall many have us have made jokes about the "famous 5 women" who were consulted on the S-Class Ships (and how perhaps they got distracted in the Martini Bar)

So here is your chance...

List away

I just ask that to make it an easy read "for the suits" that you try to stay POSITIVE and concise (list as many times as you like if something else comes to mind)

Cheers!

I would like to see:

* Adjoining Alcove Doors - like on the S-Class Ships

* Spacious & Bright Bathrooms - like on the S-Class Ships

* Shower Doors - like on the S-Class Ships

* Clothesline in the Bathroom

* More Drawer Storage for the Cabin area

* A bank of Closets - like on the M-Class Ships

* Bigger Night Tables - like on the M-Class Ships

* Balconies big enough so EVERYONE could get the Loungers & Footstools

Cheers!

More closet space, please.

Very few of the stateroom categories have adequate closet space, especially if passengers are doing B2B's (or even longer cruises). Notable exceptions are the higher end suites, but it would be wonderful if all staterooms had more storage.

Thanks! :)

I just got off of Quantum of the Seas and would LOVE if they had a room similar to 270. It felt very Celebrity more that RCI.

Please keep a martini bar with awesome bartenders.

Please let it have a nice/spacious promenade deck. Wrap around would be nice, but I would be fine even if it was more like M class than S class.

I would like to see:

A wrap around promenade deck; even a "skinny" one like on the Allure would be fine.

Tables for two in the MDR spread through out the different sections, so they aren't stacked together.

Enjoy!

Kel:)

Great idea for a thread! I have been a very good boy this year Santa, and I would like to see the following on your new ships:

* MUCH Faster Internet

* More closet space in all staterooms

* More varied Persian Gardens

* RFID Technology like the royal bands instead of SeaPass'es

* More adult-only (i.e. no children allowed anywhere near it) venues

Thanks!

I would like to see:

More bar seating space in the Martini Bar since I think most people prefer to sit there.

I agree that all balconys should be large enough to accommodate foot stools and all balconys should have them.

The MDR should have more tables for 2 and they should be further apart.

I like all of Sloop's stateroom suggestions, and will add

Several more hooks on the wall -- M has four on the bathroom door, S has two on the door, two on the wall. Would love to have four in each spot.

A proper dance floor that isn't the Atrium. It can be impossible to conduct business at Guest Relations when there are loud activities in the Atrium. The Rendezvous Lounge is sorely missed on the S class ships.

A piano bar.

Bring back the T-pool. Or at least heat the Solarium pool, if not to bath temperature, but at least heated.

Since we are wishing.....

I second the Promenade deck, ideally a full wrap around, but if not, at least one where you can clearly see the water like on M class.

I would also wish for a large Sunset bar close to the buffet where we can enjoy breakfast outdoors.

The biggest pool you can put, with lots of surrounding area that is just a few inches deep. Our favorite ship pool was on the Radiance of the Seas. Something like those two would be great.

Lastly, keep it classy, no neon and subtle colors.

Can't wait.

Hi, We loved our pre-dinner (8:00 PM) cocktails with a string quartet on both Princess and H/A. We missed the absence of any Classical on our Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. Why not? By the way, we like all music - techno, Pop (we loved 5:00 o'Clock Somewhere), etc. Why not Classical? A Promenade Deck would be great too. Grace

Great news re the new ships.

Just to agree with some of you:

  • A wrap around prom deck
  • No neon colours - the Silhouette was perfect
  • Tables for 2 that mean you aren't sitting on the knees of the people next to you
  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO movies under the stars or big screen. PLEASE nooooooooooooooo big screen !!!!
    * A ship like the Solstice class not like the 'Funfairs at Sea' like the new RCI ships

I inadvertently created a duplicate thread, so I have asked the moderators to delete it. Here is my post from that thread.....

I thought it would be fun to have a thread that is just about our hopes for the design and amenities of the new ships. I don't know how much is written in stone already, but it is always fun to dream.

I know from the other EDGE thread that a promenade deck of some type would be a popular addition, and that would be great, but it is not the highest priority for me.

I am not a fan of the S-class "Entertainment Court" and the Atrium as primary centres for musical entertainment, and I would rather Celebrity builds on the idea of the M-class Rendevous lounge where you can have decent seating and acoustics and a multi-purpose area that can function as a dance floor.

I would love a piano bar. They have been popular on every ship I have ever been on (where one has existed ).

I love Café al Bacio and hope they do not reduce its size...if anything I hope they extend it a bit, and bring back the little sandwiches!

I love the Aqua Spa Café, but wish it wasn't marginalized in terms of its location by being so close to the Solarium pool. The air in that areas is compromised by the pool.

I love the Solstice-class bathrooms and hope they maintain those high standards on the EDGE ships.

I'm hoping for nicer carpeting in the cabins....those stripe-y things look cheap to me.

I hope they find better art for the cabins....I do not love the red-orange-and-black things that are on the S-class ships...I think they look totally cheesy, for the most part.

I would prefer that the lower drawers in the cabins be not quite as deep, and that another drawer be added with the space that is saved.

If there was some way to have the three-part closet with drawers and shelves that the have on M-Class ships, and then a dresser/desk that was all at one level, making the room feel more open, that would be my favourite case-goods solution. Having the dresser area and the desk at different heights gives two small surfaces that are less efficient than one large surface would be.

I would LOVE better night tables.

A few more chairs on the ships that are comfortable for shorter people would be a godsend. Practically the only chairs that I can sit back in are in Café al Bacio.

And finally, I have seen pictures of the interiors of Mein Schiff 3. I hope the new EDGE ships look NOTHING like those!!

Well, there's my contribution. What do you think about potential design and décor for the new ships?

Keep the Air Draft down enough so the new builds can cruise to Montreal and Sydney

Have an all ages "fun pool" Maybe even a slide

A specialty restaurant that changes dependant on where the ship is. Serve local specialties...

Hi Folks

Not a name the conjurers up good vibrations for me but lets live in hope;)

What to I personally wish for

A ship designed in such a way that its various entertainment venues are separate so that each venue can be enjoyed without effect on adjacent venues

So no large atrium they are a waste of space and noise funnels

Lets have "A Touch of Class" to enhance "Modern Luxury "

The Solstice class of state room is quite good a few minor changes as have been suggest here in previous posts.

My own pet change would be to locate a small classy casino discreetly and use some of the saved space for a nice "wintergarden lounge"

And of course is time to bite the bullet and make the ship totally non smoking

Those are my first few thoughts , I look forward to seeing what others think

Regards

John

Plugs at both night tables for charging and CPAP usage.

A T-pool.

Clothesline in the bathroom.

Deep enough balcony (don't pull a Breakaway)

One dining room that is always formal wear and one that isn't, instead of formal night, so people can be less stressed about those who don't dress up.

I wouldn't mind a screen, but only to show movies at NIGHT. Don't have it blasting through the day.

My wish list:

-A real, dedicated jogging track

-Expanded, covered, outdoor seating aft of the buffet

-Tpool in the Solarium, make the Solarium a true adults only venue, no "walking thru" by kids, & no entry into Aq. spa cafe either.

-While I enjoy the lawn area, I'm guessing that will remain a S class venue, I'd love to see an outdoor restaurant similar to Silhouette, but no obtrusive Canopy rentals please.

-Cabin Storage similar to M class, bathrooms like S class please (I literally choose S class ships because of those bathrooms :) no icky shower curtains!

-Make the Sofa considerably smaller... it's such a waste of space

-Please, nightstands that are more sturdy, & have a plug for cpap machines, charging phone, ect.

Rethink the high pax capacity... it seems to me that size of ship should carry no more than 2400 pax...

edit to add: I actually enjoy the atrium entertainment, & would like a larger Martini Bar please
