Favorite/Least Favorite Carnival Ship?

I have to say that my favorite ship is the Miracle and I'm soo glad that she will be getting her 2.0 upgrade. I love everything about that ship. Love Frankie and Johnnies lounge to hear my favorite cover band without listening to them in hallways. It is a pleasure to go to a lounge for listening/dancing. I love the Gatsby Garden, etc.

We have only sailed 3 ships so far, and if I were to rank them it would go:

Breeze...loved the décor, the 2.0 amenities, and just everything about her!

Pride...so easy to navigate, loved that Serenity had her own pool, but the décor was ugly.

Liberty....her décor was gorgeous, and it was nice to have some 2.0 upgrades, but her closed in aft really turned me off.

Can't wait to see how Sunshine and Splendor fall into the mix when we sail them this year!

I wanna play!!!!:D:D

Favorite, by FAR: Breeze

Least favorite: Pride

I know this sounds ridiculous to some people, but the décor of that ship is HIDEOUS. And, YES, it DOES make a difference.:o:rolleyes: Just WAY too dark for my liking.

We cruised on the Sensation back in 1994, and I would take the overdose of purple over the Pride.:D

Favorite; tossup between Liberty and Freedom, but slight edge to Liberty for it's decor (although decor is not a big factor in my enjoyment of a ship) I loved my cruises on both these ships.

Next favorite was the Triumph, but that was 10 years ago. Just had an absolute wonderful time on that ship even though we had some rougher seas, and got into San Juan late.

Then the Valor, nice ship too, just liked the Triumph a bit better.

Last would be Sensation. That is not because I did not like it. That cruise was a 7 day back in 2000, and I loved it then, but if I have to rank them. this is it, so she just comes last, but I still liked the ship and had a wonderful cruise, actually was my first Carnival cruise.

I agree on the Pride décor, it's very dark and un-cheerful. I much prefer something more cheerful.

We've been on Splendor 3 times now. Mainly because it changed homeports not because we wanted to be on it.

While we had a great time and found it easy to navigate, it is by far the ugliest ship we've ever sailed. The pink, zebra and circles certainly didn't ruin our trip but it is in no way pleasing to the eye.

We LOVED the pink, zebra, and circles everywhere! Early in the cruise we were walking down a set of stairs when we came upon an elevator door. My husband pointed to the pink zebra circles and said, "Strawberry frosted doughnuts!" We giggled every time we saw them after that.

To the OP: Miracle is my very favorite ship. While we don't cruise for the decor of a ship, I found Miracle's to be charming, even with the "grape" dining room chandeliers. Legend and Pride, which are Spirit class ships and sisters to Miracle are next in line followed by Splendor, Breeze, Magic, and Dream.

Least favorite is Liberty followed by Glory, Victory, and Destiny (which is no longer) because I don't like the stadium seating set up on the Lido deck nor do I enjoy the recessed adult pool at the back of the ship. I even gave these ships a second try and still didn't care for them.

Have a great cruise on Splendor.

The Pride is my favorite ship so far. I love the layout and design and she is not too big or too small and has a very healthy guest to space ration.

I have never had a bad cruise, but my least favorite ship would have to be the Splendor. Decorated horribly and a very high passenger to space ratio.

My fave so far is Breeze. Husband's is Legend, (3x!). We have a sentimental spot for Sensation as she was the first .... but I'm tired now of the old rust bucket Fantasy class ships. If they bumped up the itineraries that would be different, but (yawn), Bahamas & Coz.

In ranked order for the ships we've been on:

1. Freedom

2. Liberty

3. Fascination

4. Dream

5. Legend (only reason this one is so far down is that I sailed on her before upgrading ships was a thing. If I was to rank in terms of layout, she ranks first. In terms of decor, she is near the bottom)

6. Elation

I used to really like the Elation, but now that I've been on another Fantasy class, I can see how little love that ship is getting. She needs some updating.

However, I would not hesitate to sail on ANY of these ships again. For me the priorities are itinerary (I prefer 3-4 sea days on a 7 or 8 day cruise) and 2.0 upgrades. HOWEVER, for short 5 day cruises (which we generally don't do on the regular), I would sail the Fascination again in a heartbeat.

Princessa why didn't you like the Valor?

I actually did really like the Valor. When I ranked them I was probably ranking them by the best time I had on the cruise. Unfortunately on that cruise we had rooms on top of the casino where they did Kareoke and I did not feel great so it bothered me plus my dog died the day before the cruise. So needless to say, that is why it was ranked the way it was. Sorry.

Having said all that...we did have the best cruise director of all my cruises...there was lots to do...service was wonderful....so really nothing bad at all......It was all me:(

I definitely recommend any of the ships I have been on

Oh that is so sad I am so sorry BUT trying to make you feel better, imagine if your dog died when you were away, its best it happened with you there otherwise you come home and feel very guilty. Im not sure if this helps, I have lost two dogs in the past horrible so sad I know hug to you. Maybe they all are playing at the gates of heaven waiting for us when its our time?

I am glad to hear you like the Valor and she isn't on the bottom of your list lets say. Yes, when choosing a cabin we always look what is above us and below us, stay away from the noisy areas and the galley/MDR too.

On the Valor we needed three balcony rooms there was no choice other than on the Upper deck fortunately the fun shops are below us they quiet and close early but unfortunately its right opposite of the elevators and stairs. 6274,6276 and 6278. We want to be together and open the partitions on the balcony and talk together.

I haven't been on the Breeze but the Dream was my favorite ship of them all. Thanks for the reply back!

I can only choose between the Pride and Splendor because they are the only ones my girlfriend and I have cruised on. We both prefer the Pride without any question.

The Splendor is a beautiful ship, a bit too much pink everywhere for my taste, but the layout is absolutely awful. I don't recall the exact details but we kept having to go up to 5 to get anywhere, including to our MDR table on 3 or take a bizarre shortcut on 4 through the bar or go through the photo gallery. It really is a beautiful ship even if someone was drunk when designing the floor plans.

We're going back on the Pride this year and bringing the kids. It's smaller than the Splendor but more direct layout will make it easier for the kids to navigate.

Fave: Triumph, actually any of the post-Conquest type ships, mostly because they have really great 1A cabins.

Least Fave: I'd have a hard time warming up to the Spirit-class ships, because they have so few 1A cabins, and they're not so great.

You have your priorities; I have mine.

Our favorite would still be the Glory, great ship. Least favorite would be the Triumph - we sailed not too long before the fiasco and the ship just looked bad, you could tell that it wasn't being taken care of. Ironically - our least favorite and favorite cruise itineraries are the opposite, so that definitely didn't affect our opinions. We've also sailed on Inspiration, Ecstasy, and Breeze. The Breeze comes in a close second, but the buffet and teen programs were not good.

Next cruise: Carnival Vista - July 2016
