Grandeur - Baltimore Gangplank

Recommended Posts

It took a hit. Fell down, went boom.

Carnival Pride, last May. No one was injured. A couple vehicles (employees not passengers) were damaged.

Is there a problem with the gangplank? Cruising 2018 out of Baltimore - never been there before.

I will be sorry when the new gangplank is installed. Other than the initial wow factor of boarding the ship at the centrum, I like just walking on @ deck 1. I am a little "older" and out of shape and by the time I get up there, I'm a little out of breath. Lol

When I was on the ship @ Christmas, I was surprised to find out that the casino and shops were not open the first night, also closing early the last night at the Chesapeake tunnel. Something about Rccl and Maryland having some issues, most likely about paying taxes. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

It's a new Maryland law.

It's a new Maryland law.

Could you point to the change in the law?

Maryland created this exception especially for Royal. Due to fact when they sailed out of Philadelphia the state of Pennsylvania would not allow the casino or shops to be open until they were out of the Delaware Bay thus the exit from there.

As far as closing early at the tunnel is interesting as you are still in Virginia waters for a few more hours.

So there must be other reasons.

That's really a non-issue since the shops would be closed anyway due to the time of day the ship sails in that area (gets to the tunnel around midnight)
