...Well, almost LIVE, as we embark the ship tomorrow. We arrived in FLL yesterday and are enjoying the sun and warmth. We checked into the Renaissance at 2:00 yesterday, walked to Crown for several bottles of wine, had a very nice dinner at Bimini Boatyard, watched a Lifetime movie, then fell asleep after a long travel day from Detroit.

We enjoyed breakfast at Joe's Cafe where I had Eggs Benedict for my birthday. Then, we rode the Sun Trolley to Las Olas so I could get a couple of new outfits at Fresh Produce - love that shop! We will walk down to the bridge to watch the Emerald Princess sail at 4:00. We plan to have dinner at Carlos and Pepe's while we await my sisters' arrival from DTW tonight.

Will post tomorrow after we've gotten settled in our stateroom, checked our late seating table location, and made reservations at Crown Grill.

Last day before we sail away on the Crown Princess :)

Hello, again!

We walked down to the 17th Street bridge to watch the Emerald Princess sail, waited until 4:30, and headed back to the hotel when it hadn't left (gangway still up). Just past 5:30 now, and it still hasn't left

My sisters' flight has left the gate at DTW, so we are on our way to dinner at Carlos & Pepe's prior to their arrival. Cheers!

Boarding tomorrow as well, it has been a busy day here as we flew from Seattle to Miami and did a number of things around here. We are staying at the Marriott Harbor beach resort, which has the second most ridiculously huge pool I have ever seen. We also made the walk from the resort to the jetty for sailaways, and I got some cool photos, but missed Emerald Princess due to the late sailaway.i

Wave so we can see you on the Port Everglases web cam....we'll be watching sailawa. Bon Voyage and have a great time.

We are port side a couple of doors behind aft elevators/stairs on Baja deck. We will be displaying our University of Michigan banner over our balcony.

Bon Voyage!

Mike and I were waiting in the lobby (OK, the bar :D - it's my birthday!) when my sisters arrived several minutes before we expected them. Everything has gone very smoothly for all of us, and we hope it will be smooth sailing on the Crown, too. They were  about walking over to Walgreen's in the dark, so Mike is escorting them. What a guy!

Less than 24 hours 'til we're onboard the Crown Princess :)

Sweet dreams!

Happy Birthday Chris! Reading your live gets me excited for another cruise. I was on the Crown New Year's eve cruise. Love the Crown we also sailed last April. I am happy to report we had a new pillow top mattress & slept like a baby. We did the Chef's table in April-worth every Penney. We had picture perfect weather in the southern Caribbean hope you do too. Have a terrific cruise. I'll be following your live and looking for your Michigan banner while cheering for OSU!

Cruzinchris: watched the Crown sail in this AM on the webcam, pretty as a picture. Happy belated BD and have a wonderful time. You'll be boarding soon. My favorite thing is always when the ship posts a sign over the gangway door that says "WELCOME HOME" Bon Voyage!

Add another fellow cruiser closely following your reports, cruizinchris! Our gang of 10 (4 families) is sailing the Crown for the first time in early April. We are all fans of Princess and are very excited. Can't wait to read all your posts.

Safe travels and enjoy your cruise !

Another belated birthday wish - we will be cruising the Crown boarding in Venice in December! So you all take good care of her in the mean time! I will be subscribing to hear all the details as we have never cruised on the Crown before! Bon voyage!

Good Morning.

Chris and I got up this morning and walked up the 17th St Bridge to see the Crown and all the other ships in port. The last few times we cruised from Port Everglades, we've been on a mid-week sailing. It's overwhelming to see how many ships are departing today.

Just had a 2nd lovely breakfast at Joe's Cafe and will be leaving to board the ship in about an hour. It's mostly cloudy and there's a chance of showers this afternoon but we won't let the weather detract from our first voyage on the Crown. We'll check in again when we're onboard.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We're sailing on the Crown in mid March and getting so excited. I heard Nick Nash is the captain, if you get a chance, could you let us know if he'll still be there in mid March? I've never sailed with him, but I've heard great things.

We'll look for your banner waving during sail away this afternoon. Have a great cruise!!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!!

Have a great cruise. I know you've been looking forward to it and I can't wait to hear about your time on the Crown. You know we had a good time and I know you will too. Ft. Lauderdale looks pretty and sunny today.
