  1. Usually OBC from HAL is nonrefundable. You can use for crew gratuities, wine package, laundry etc. The OBC we receive from our TA is refundable. It's nice that HAL uses your nonrefundable first before the refundable!
  2. Is there any value purchasing CO if you are 5* and in a Neptune suite? I thought the CO benefits were already included if you are staying in a Neptune or Pinnacle suite.
  3. Great, thanks for the information!
  4. That's beautiful! Do you know if the bike path is shared path with hikers?
  5. Does anyone actually watch TV commercials anymore??
  6. We also added CO with our final payment this week. It was noted on the confirmation of final payment that we received from our TA Payment Summary Made By For Date Amount XXXXXXX Holland America Line (XDVT4M) 9/28/22 XXXXXXX Holland America Line (XDVT4M) 9/28/22 XXXXXXX Holland America Line (XDVT4M) 2/7/23 Total Charges Amount Paid Balance Due PAID excludes insurance quotes Includes: "Have It All" Perks Includes: $250 onboard credits per stateroom from Holland America. Includes: $250 onboard credits per stateroom from us for total of $500. Includes: Club Orange
  7. Thanks for the help @kaisatsu and @kstetser! I think the street art cities will work best for navigating with my phone.
  8. I've only been on a few HAL cruises but used the laundry service each time. I was very pleased with the condition of the clothes when returned and had none returned with any type of damage. However, my travel clothes never include anything that needs special handling. No dry clean, gentle wash etc. We mostly do land travel so easy wash and wear clothes just makes more sense for us.
  9. Can anyone recommend a map/guide to the street art of Stavanger? Is there one available at the tourist information center? Thanks for any help
  10. Yes, there are cruises where penalties start before final payment.
  11. Something I've found happening more often lately is that is if you have auto-fill for your credit card information, many website now reject that and require you to type the numbers in manual. Not sure if this is the case for you but thought I'd share what might be an issue.
  12. I've found that is usually at hotels that offer an included breakfast.
  13. I wouldn't cruise anywhere without a balcony. I need my private outdoor space to escape the masses. Every ship I've been on has more people than the town I live in and sometimes I just need that escape. Baltic's, Alaska, Norway it doesn't matter. I dress appropriately and spend time everyday in my little piece of heaven. That's not to say I won't be out and about up top but I need my private retreat. We'll be in Norway in May. After dinner and dancing, going back to our cabin and hanging out on the balcony while it's still light out will be great!
  14. I've only seen them 2 times, both were in summer in Wisconsin! Although they are visible here sometimes in winter, I'm not usually out and about at night in winter🥶
  15. I would have never given them a second thought if I hadn't read this thread!
  16. I was hoping to bring my hiking poles. Would they be allowed? https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4O3HF3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  17. Right now the timing for that would have to wait until the shareholder credit is approved for next year, no matter what type of cruise.
  18. It is a miracle any of us survived our childhood
  19. I would suggest exploring the ship together until you feel comfortable with the layout. It can be a lot of fun discovering things together. In the evening or at breakfast go over what things you would like to do, what time they are being held and where. Then make plans of when and where to meet up if necessary. Notes can be left in your cabin. The ship's app can make all of this much easier but you can get along just fine without it if you prefer. Above all, enjoy, relax and have a wonderful time!
  20. Another option is to take a cruise that ends in Tahiti and then fly to Bora Bora for a few days' stay before returning home. It's about an hour flight. Even with the high cost of a over water bungalow, it would be a great experience and probably less expensive in total than a small ship cruise.
  21. I was able to add CO to my booking directly with HAL (11/2021) even though I had booked with a TA. That may have changed but it would be worth a try to call the CO number directly.
