  1. No swimsuits. No muscle shirts. Nice jeans fine. We wear long pants and a collared shirt. Did not see any shorts last cruise. Think what you would wear to a nice restaurant at home
  2. Why 21 to be an adult. Have a good friend who is ex-military and 70ish. He usually exhibits behaviors that most would associate with a freshman at university. Celebrity having no children? Why? Never seem to be an issue with them. Kids Club into more dining? Happy the way it is. Personally I enjoyed sailing with my adult children, spouses and teen grandchildren.
  3. Don't know about you but I seem to always have dirty laundry. The Elite buffet breakfast is relaxed and the mimosas or cappuccinos are great. If you have a drink package agree the happy hour no big deal.
  4. Just remember using FBC vs. the airline has one benefit- payment later and one possible benefit - cheaper. Compare that to the restrictions that have been discussed in many posts including seat selection, rescheduling difficulty and a myriad of restrictions that come with booking with a consolidator instead of the airline or a TA.
  5. Would not do on either the website or the app. Not ever. Call either X or your TA
  6. Unless something changes - open for lunch. It filled up very fast.
  7. The gratuity amount is allocated on a fixed formula. In specialty venues it is 20% of the charge.
  8. Suggest you look at the cabin sticky for your cabin, those close, on the other side of the ship or similar cabins on sister ships. Heaps of cabin reviews.
  9. Good question. It shouldn't matter as 2 people get a total of 30 drinks. Run out on one just use the other.
  10. The one shop at the pier will not likely be open. It is about a mile into town. The stop is simply to meet the requirements of the Jones Act. You could hire a taxi for an hour and get a look or walk north leaving the port past the military base for about 15 minutes for great views of Victoria Harbor. If the weather cooperates worth the walk.
  11. Next year you will no longer be able to fly within the US using a regular driver's license. Just a heads up as sure things will get crazy at local DMVs. To the OP - glad you were able to get it sorted quickly and apparently pretty painlessly.
  12. Unless all I want is a continental breakfast with cold food along with coffee or tea; I will go to the buffet or MDR where the food is hot and beats cold fried or similar.
  13. Thanks for your clear report. Agree the late night "adult" stuff has gotten beyond what we care to see. Used to go on shorter West Coast cruises and never saw lobster then either. Glad you found the food to be excellent.
  14. The question would be are you a person who likes to spend lots of time in their cabin reading or just watching the ocean go by. In that case probably not a good choice. When near land you can certainly can go out on deck. One thought would be to have a cabin with a short easy access to an outside deck. Would make an inside better IMO. Have had an inside in Alaska. Like it as could get the cabin dark and it was always quiet.
  15. The rollator is not the problem. The accessible cabin makes especially the bathroom safer. Keep your accessible cabin
  16. Excellent advice. If something on board does happen ask for copies from the doctor on board and the security report. Have assisted others in receiving compensation while they are still on board by discussing with the Hotel Director. Easier in my experience to receive compensation for a non permanent injury on board.
  17. Think everyone will agree book it. You can cancell. A year out we also think about private excursions both as organizing and participating. Your roll call is the best place I know for participating or sharing if you would coordinate a tour. Good way to save $$.
  18. Times also vary as JWLane said. Port calls can move times back, special events can supercede events and of course extreme weather can change things.
  19. My TA still has cabins for your cruise in their group block. Release is 30 days out. Have been assigned a cabin months ahead and literally the day before we boarded. Varies big time
  20. Stock perks will apply way ahead. Applied it last week to an October cruise. Don't understand the tax free comment as you are receiving a discount not actual money
  21. Enjoy. Have crossed the Tasman when it was smooth as glass and also when 50' waves turned our ship around. Simply sat on the floor holding on to a post!
  22. Contact the head of the hotel if on still on board. If not contact hq for Princess. A heads up that if anything like this happens stay down exactly where you are and call for the doctor. When you contact them state the facts clearly with what you would like them to do. Hopefully you have a copy of the accident or security reports. As Princess is not US based you need to work with them in a clear factual manner on the executive office level - not a phone rep.
  23. Heard from 2 others on board now and the policy seems to be fleet wide. The explanation was issues regarding damage to door from tape, decorations that were a hazard and others "over the top".
