  1. My wife uses bonine and it works great for her. She takes it on the morning we leave home to help with issues on the plane and then she takes one every morning on the cruise. Dramamine (supposedly) causes drowsiness and bonine supposedly does not. My wife has no drowsiness issues using bonine. I'd like to give my opinion on the kids. For our first cruise with the kids, my wife insisted on giving the kids bonine because she didn't want to deal with them being sick. She assumed that because she gets motion sickness, the kids would get it, even though I never get it. I said how will we know until we try? On the second cruise she agreed to try it without giving the bonine to the kids. They had no issues at all. So, my recommendation is not to "force-feed" the medication until you're sure they're going to need it.
  2. I think the answer is yes to both. Unfortunately, this is partly how there came to be so many Diamond members. I can't say it's "abusing the system" because Royal allows, and actually encourages it.
  3. While the deluxe cabin is noticeably bigger, I personally wouldn't spend more than a couple hundred dollars for it.
  4. This is what we've always done too. I hope we can still do this.
  5. We found the deluxe balcony stateroom to be noticeably bigger than the standard balcony stateroom. A standard stateroom is sufficient for us but we did see a difference in the deluxe. As for the Radiance itself, we loved the ship. While not as big as some of the other ships, the Radiance class has a "cozy" feel to it. We love the centrum area and the lounge/bar area aft on deck 6.
  6. There will be free appetizers in the Diamond Lounge during Happy Hour but any drinks you order in there will go against the 4 loaded on your Seapass.
  7. We don't facetime but have used WiFi calling many times without having surf and stream.
  8. It's nice to know that Royal's IT department is at it again and that I'm not the only one that got the message. I'm curious to know, did anyone get the message that DOES NOT have a cruise booked?
  9. In my experience, most cabin sinks are not deep enough to fit a water bottle under the faucet.
  10. You can share your login information with everyone on the ship but only one device can log in at a time.
  11. We usually book cabins aft, on the stern if we can. The further back you go, the less foot traffic you'll have so the cabins are generally quieter. We don't mind the longer walk, it helps burn off some the extra calories. If you can get away from the obstructed view, that's a plus too.
  12. The app will make some things more convenient but it is not required.
  13. I think you'll be good with those times. We've cruised out of San Juan many times. There is always a big crowd when boarding first opens and then, it seems, around 4:00, probably due to flight schedules.
  14. If you need 4 people/devices logged on at the same time, Your best option is to buy the one person-4 device package. That will save you money and allow all four people to be logged on at the same time. Does this answer your question? If not, ask some more. We'll get it figured out for you.
  15. I think those of us that have tried to answer the question(s) have done that but I'll add a little more to help clarify. You can share your log-in information with as many people/devices as you like. If you buy a 1 device package, only one device can be logged on at a time. If you buy a 2-device package, any 2 devices can be logged on at the same time. A 3-device package? Any 3 devices at the time.
  16. We always check out a towel on the first day using our Seapass. After that, we just bring our used towel to the stand and swap it out for a clean one. When not using our towels, we always leave them in our stateroom. Our cabin attendants have never taken our towels. We did get charged once but called and had the charge removed. I think if my cabin attendant removed my towels, I would ask him/her to bring them back so I didn't get charged for them.
  17. Even with a one device plan you can have any number of devices use that plan but, only one at a time. You, your spouse, your 3 grandkids can all log on with a phone and a tablet but only one device amongst all of you can be logged on at a time. You could share your code with every passenger on the ship and they could all use your account but only one person/device at a time.
  18. No, it can be a total of any 4 devices logged on at the same time. If you only want one on, that's fine.
  19. It has been known to happen that sometimes RCI fails to keep up with someone's age, C&A points and C&A status. Keep an eye on your son's status after he turns 18 and you attain Diamond status. I would not be shocked (or even mildly surprised) if your son turns Diamond when you do.
  20. Royal Caribbean has a sale every single day, they just change the name of it. Their prices fluctuate almost daily and the difference in price usually has nothing to do with the current "sale". If you find a ship/itinerary that you want at a price that is within your budget, book it. Keep an eye out for the next "sale" and see if the price has gone down. If it has, you can call RCI or your TA (whoever you booked with) and get your cruise repriced.
  21. Wow! You don't want to be inconvenienced if your friends experience some bad luck? Your cruise is more important than your friends? We have several sets of friends that we vacation with all the time, sometimes only one couple, sometimes 2 or 3, sometimes even as many as 5 or 6 other couples. We plan our vacations and if something comes up, we figure out the best way to handle it. Maybe our friend circle is different than yours.
  22. OP - yes you can. I always book with a TA and I have always used reward points to reduce to cost of the cruise. Once the dollar value is applied, the TA will see the cost reduction and bill accordingly once final payment is due. I used a certain TA for years and had no problem. I switched to a new TA this year and also had no problem.
  23. Freedom, after being amplified, has a whole lot more to offer than Liberty IMHO.
