  1. There have been many posts on here about being able set a limit on the kids' cards for everywhere EXCEPT the arcade. Parents have reported setting a daily limit on cards and then find out that the limit does not apply in the arcade.
  2. Yes, they are okay with it. I have heard that when booking, some RCI customer service reps actually suggest booking this way to share the balcony discount.
  3. Not true. I think in the past you couldn't combine credits. They changed that policy a few years ago and now the stockholders OBC is always combinable.
  4. In our experience, this is not true. We have done this multiple times. We usually cruise with friends of ours who are not Diamond yet. We book my wife and I in separate cabins and book one of them with us. Once on the ship we go to Guest Services and explain who will be in which cabin and how their on board expenses will get paid. Guest Services makes new cards and assigns the proper expense accounts. So, my recommendation is, go to Guest Services, expalin to them (nicely) what is going on and ask them to issue new cards. We actually did this at check-in at the pier when we did our Alaska cruise several years ago.
  5. I quoted you because you offered a (very good) suggestion on how to solve the problem. Some people will still have an issue getting it set up so I offered another option.
  6. We've been to St. Maarten and Maho Beach many times. Take a taxi, it's the easiest and most affordable way to get there. There will be plenty of taxis at Maho Beach to get you back to the ship.
  7. If you have trouble getting it set up, there is a help desk (I think it's called RC On-Line) on the ship. They will be glad to help you set it up
  8. If you can see her on the web site, (I think) you should be able to see her in the app. It's been a couple months since I did it but I think you just have to click on the right spot in the app to find her. The worst case scenario is either access the web site from your phone to check in or use the app to fill in your information and secure your check-in time. Then you can log in at another time to fill in your friend's information.
  9. When we started cruising we sailed in ocean view cabins. We wanted natural light so that was the cabin that best fit our budget. As we got older and could afford more, we started sailing in balcony cabins. On our cruise a month ago we went back to an ocean view because the itinerary was port intensive (no sea days) so we wouldn't need a balcony because we would always be in port and wouldn't have time to hang out on the balcony. We found we really missed the balcony multiple times during the day (pulling into and leaving the port, morning coffee etc.) so we knew then that we would always have a balcony in the future. We've never sailed in a suite of any kind.
  10. Most embarkation ports are not enforcing the check-in times. Even at the ones that do, you should be okay because the fine print says something to the effect of "please arrive with your entire party..."
  11. I cash in my points to offset the cost of the cruise a month or two before final payment date. The credit usually shows up in less than a week.
  12. Come back in 48 hrs. and let us know how you made out.
  13. Spouses and children under the age of 18 are eligible for matching status, parents are not. Another requirement is they must live in the same house.
  14. SOME drinks are around $14, not all of them. You can get a lot of decent drinks in the $10-$12 range. That's still a lot more than I pay for drinks locally but it's better than $14.
  15. If your wife has a C&A number and has set up an on line account, you can log in to her account and see how many points she has.
  16. Have the person with the most points book as the single. S/he will earn double points to move up in rank. Then S/he can share that status with the rest of the family.
  17. Weird. I was there 3 weeks ago (March 5th) and they told me 3 hours.
  18. Your time frame suggests you can't check in until 4 hours before departure time. We just flew home from SJU 3 weeks ago and were told it was not more than 3 hours prior to departure. This was on Southwest. Maybe other airlines are different? OP - we had a late flight a bunch of years ago. We took a ship-sponsored tour to the Bacardi Rum factory. It was interesting. RCI loaded our luggage on the bus, took us to Bacardi and then to the airport after that.
  19. My daughter-in-law had never cruised until she got married. She had no C&A membership. My son called C&A prior to their first cruise together and had her matched with his C&A Diamond status. No "proof" was required.
  20. You can tell I'm not in that particular age group. I don't even know what a Hyperlink is. I've never heard of it.
  21. Prices for most things are usually higher on the ship than they are if you purchase them pre-cruise.
  22. Even if you don't have the package, if you treat your servers well, sometimes they "forget" to charge you for a drink.
  23. Wow, I thought the $0.00 drinks were on my final bill so I too went back and checked for my cruise 2 weeks ago. You're right, they weren't there.
  24. I think the correct answer is all guests staying in the stateroom will be charged gratuities. Notice I did not say "pay" gratuities.
  25. Each time you "purchase" a drink, it will show up in your folio with the name of the bar and $0.00.
