First Time Going to Europe 2 Itineraries Which One to Pick?
BigAl94 replied to penutbutterjelly's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Baltic - no competition. Great scenic interesting ports. -
Always buy independent - never trust a cruise line. I wish you well but with proper insurance you would have been well looked after. Excellent private facilities in Europe including Italy if you have access to them through private medical travel insurance.

Trouble is it's not like any other illness. so many strains and affects with varying severity. We're recovering after 3 week illness.

Clearly you did not have adequate travel insurance

Rather than updated, yours on deck 3 appears to be one of the new staterooms that were added around 6 years ago when that area of the ship was reconfigured and the smaller Qsine restaurant created

Frozen fish is also considerably cheaper. If it is good quality fish properly frozen then properly cooked it will be fine. Using the excuse that it is frozen to explain that it is dry and tasteless is just wrong.

I see very many complaints about the Retreat deck on S class ships being too hot with no shelter and many reports of it being under utilised. A great shame as it was liked by so many when open to all, it was very busy on every single cruise we have been on and a great place to escape the noise around the pool.

What does RCCL stock price drop mean.

What Draconian restrictions? All European countries and UK are open. -
Queue the personal insults!

No and not likely that it ever will be.

One way to spread covid I suppose.

Primarily in my personal experience, others may differ!

When docked, the port side of the ship is usually closest to land, while the starboard side is typically closest to open water. However, this isn’t always the case. In fact, these days, cruise ships might be docked with the starboard facing the cruise port, and vice versa. This can be dependent on a few factors including the number ships that will also be in port, the direction that the ship is sailing in, government regulations and the discretion of the ship’s Captain.

14 years old which is relatively modern, not even halfway through service

From memory they aren't tiles but a composite moulded floor and shower enclosure. Our last trip on Silhouette they were fine, maybe a little discoloured but clean and intact.

And all the better for it!

At least then we got proper Baked Alaska, not the inedible rubbish served now!

Celebrity Silhouette - Fetch your own drinks from the bar...
BigAl94 replied to prothed's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity put seats at the bar for a reason! They're there to be sat on. I always wait at a part of the bar that is more open and the bar staff will get to you when they can - making eye contact helps. The only time I have to excuse myself is actually picking drinks up from the bar. I think it's all how you go about it - never had to shout over anyone's shoulder. -
Depends what you are used to and what you expect. In recent years nothing I have had on a cruise ship even comes close to good restaurants in my home country so the food is not a high point, nevertheless disappointing that it has reduced in quality so much over the past couple of decades.
