  1. I believe Carnival has enough assets to restructure if it comes to that..
  2. That is where we are all different. I rarely ever give the Steward an additional tip. We ask them for nothing extra and keep the cabin clean. They are in and out in 10 minutes on the once a day service. Virtually all my extra tips go to bartenders and bar waiters. We spend a lot of time there and there is always a few that go above and beyond to make sure we have a good time.
  3. Strange...I don't know of anyone in real life who wants to spend 1 1/2 hours in the dining room. We had two nights on our July cruise that we left at the 1:15 mark sans dessert because we were tired of waiting. I would say the average for us over the years for 2 people was under an hour with dessert and I thought that was a decent pace.
  4. Issue is they haven't even restarted it for Diamond & Platinum where the early room access started.
  5. I think the point is no sugar was added at all and they claimed it wasn't in the recipe. If that sweetness comes in the form of simple syrup or granulated sugar that is dissolved is semantics, it just needs to be there to offset the tartness.
  6. It depends on what I order for me. If you are just handing me a beer the included gratuity is sufficient. If you are making me a mixed drink that requires attention I will leave some cash. I also always give extra to the roaming servers. Saving me a trip to a busy bar is worth it.
  7. What a bizarre world we live in that when a company borrows $1.25B to pay interest on existing debt that some try to spin it into a positive. In reality, this is the last tactic a company in distress has at its disposal before investor money dries up. This is likely the last kick of the can, at some point the risk for investors is too high.
  8. There is no flexibility with set time dining.
  9. That mirrors my experience on our last 3. We would have a great meal that would get lost in a sea of mediocrity. The consistency and quality just isn't there.
  10. Unfortunately Carnival has done more damage to their brand since the restart than they can fix in a decade. The recent poor behavior on ships has been shared far and wide with ease on social media. I have many friends and co-workers who are not even cruisers mention it to me when the topic comes up that I am leaving for cruise vacation. I also have a few friends who routinely cruise who are avoiding Carnival at this point. It has really taken up a life of its own.
  11. The dress code is pretty relaxed overall. You do not need formal wear or even a suit. Slacks are common for females and if you take a simple collared shirt and chinos you will be in the majority for the males. Dress up if you want but it is not required.
  12. I think I would plan to ask for assistance. It is a rather long walk and my guess is it might be a little to strenuous for her given it is all at an incline. They have plenty of employees around. I don't think it would be an issue.
  13. It is covered. The ramp is not overly steep but it is a solid incline all the way to the top.
  14. I love the MG but it certainly has room for improvement that all seem to revolve around staffing. Our first time on her was around 50% capacity and I realized then they would really have to staff it well to avoid lines. The next time on it was full and the staffing level hadn't really changed that much. That made for insane lines everywhere and a poor experience in the restaurants because the servers were maxed out. The P&A was the only one we found that truly had poor food. I guess they can pass it off as traditional BBQ to people who don't have access to it at home. I think at this point this is a decision Carnival has made, they have decided to save the money and that is the experience the customers will get. That ship has some very interesting concepts that Carnival can really move forward with however if they won't commit to the proper level of service it will end up getting lost in the shuffle.
  15. The quantity of cans is what matters, not their configuration. Be advised though, Carnival specifies 12oz cans. Some have had luck with the common 16oz size energy drink cans but that is not the norm. You can find 12oz Monsters on the internet though.
  16. They only carry two or three flavors tops. My last two cruises I know all they had was the original green and the lo-carb.
  17. Between the cheap deals still being offered and those still using up FCC's it will likely be a busy fall.
  18. Wow....I can't believe these wait times for the MDR. That is awful.
  19. The menu of drinks vary from strong tasting cocktails to fruity foo-foo drinks for people who don't want to taste the alcohol. The content difference between drinking a Martini or a Long Island and a Kiss on the Lips are not even comparable, their taste profile is also at other ends of the spectrum. You can't have it both ways in my opinion, if you are drinking something 'tropical' with 3 juice mixes and a shot of grenadine then you are not getting that much liquor in it. You want something that hits hard then you probably want a recipe that makes you make a face on the first sip....lol.
  20. No offense....if you are asking that question it would be wise to speak with a financial advisor before diving into a company with financials as poor as Carnival so they can explain the risk factors.
  21. It is because todays Sea Day Brunch is a shell of what it once was.
  22. Carnival and the cruise industry in general all have numerous drink recipes that are heavy on multi ingredient mixes, especially the frozen versions. If you stick with the classic recipes you will know exactly what your drink has in it.
  23. Usually the do a live from the ship the day they board but the actual daily vlogs don't post until the next week. They are always a week behind so you probably won't see them until next week.
