  1. Man....the Carnival cheerleaders are out in force on this one. It is a cruise line people, not a cult.
  2. A balcony is never a 'must'. We end up in them probably 25% of the time when it makes budgetary sense. I can have a great time in any type of cabin.
  3. That's good....can't get much worse. I had the middle plan on the last month and it was worthless probably 60% of the time just trying to load simple web pages.
  4. That form factor absolutely will not work on most ships as the outlets are recessed or partially obstructed. You need something with a straight plug and a short cord to be sure. We always use a simple 3 outlet non-protected power strip. I bring separate USB chargers for any devices because everything with the built in ports seem to charge at the older 2A standard and everything takes an insane amount of time to charge.
  5. Might as we book it yourself if you have to do the PVP's job.
  6. Yes....COVID brought them down but being unable to meet financial obligations is an entirely different game. The problem today is the $36b in high interest debt they amassed to stay afloat that they have yet to find a way to start decreasing. That just got magnified last week as it was apparent they needed to raise an additional $3b to cover debt obligations maturing this year. They were only able to raise $1b borrowed at 10.5% and had to release $1b in common stock further diluting the existing shares. Carnival is not in good shape....at all.
  7. I'm not so sure about that. This crippling level of debt that is still bleeding $20 million per day has the ability to take this to a new low.
  8. From what I've seen they still can't staff the MDR appropriately, much less Cucina.
  9. I'm not sure I've met one I liked. They are all some form of an annoyance I have to tune out.
  10. No one is trying to avoid throwing the documents in the backpack with everything else. I am trying to avoid standing at the health screening desk for 10 minutes while the agent goes over every line of all the documents for my family.
  11. I hope your cruise turns around. It sucks to be disappointed because Carnival can't get the basics right.
  12. None at all. Eat when you are hungry just like you do in real life.
  13. You can tell who has used the app and who is pretending they have used the app. There is no 'scrolling through your phone' or reading the documents off your phone. There is a picture of you with a green check mark when you open the app. You show that to the check-in agent and they stamp your boarding pass and off you go.
  14. Koozies on the Elation this week.
  15. My cabin was cleaned twice a day on every cruise prior to Covid for the past 15 years. I enjoyed it as part of the experience.
  16. I don't know if Carnival makes it out of this. $36B in debt and still losing $20M as recent as the end of last quarter.
  17. Same here...mine was 8 days and it was for Cheers.
  18. 10+ people arrested including 1 that hid on the ship and was only discovered after a full blown search by CBP. One young adult passenger died on board and there was some sort of altercation involving their large traveling family in the terminal. There were people still disembarking the ship at 11am. The first boarding zones were readied after 11am because they had ran out of seating inside the terminal. The first passengers did not actually board the ship until around noon.
  19. Under 21 has be with someone 25+.
  20. Depends on the sailing. We were in NOLA in March and experienced total chaos. The first people did not board until 11am.
  21. Celebration. You get to experience the new ship and a new itinerary. You can put the MG on a list of things to do later.
  22. Depends on the sailing. Ships simply do not return to port or be cleared to disembark at the same time every sailing. There is an estimate of what happens the majority of the time and then there is everything else.
