  1. You did a fabulous job for SS and it was a shame when they decided to copy the format with a downmarket replica. We made good friends with most of the original 24.
  2. Having cancelled a re-booked cruise 7 weeks ago the London office is still sitting on my deposit. The original Nova booking was made onboard, deposit paid to SS. It was passed to a TA and then SS completely changed the itinerary, supposedly for my benefit and to remove a number of sea days. Eventually we moved to a different cruise. Having spoken to the TA and SS more than once they are now blaming each other for the delay but won’t say why. SS have cancelled the cruise. Quite frankly this is appalling service.
  3. Just my two penneth on the pricing. IMHO La Dame has never really been a patch on Le Champagne and all our post COVID dining experiences on the Shadow and Dawn have been somewhat below par. If it wasn’t for a copious amount of OBC we wouldn’t have gone or would have requested a refund. To remove the hot foie gras was a bad mistake, especially when you can order it for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Atlantide. The loss of the Grand Marnier soufflé was sorely missed. Being presented with a cheese course consisting of three small, artfully placed, pieces of cheese, with no blue, and then told there was none on the ship (except of course every day in the La Terrazza buffet) left us speechless. So to be offered an updated product that will cost an extra $100 per head just for the food is outrageous. Fixing the existing product would make more sense!
  4. Oh no, can you not remember the Gourmet Burger wars back in the day 😎
  5. Hi Charles, hope you do.
  6. Wow Stumbles, 600+ posts and you finally got him. But, was it worth it?

I was amazed to see that this is already being sold by a major UK TA with a full page spread in last week’s Times. So much for exclusively.
  8. It’s worth a try, however they are more likely to tell you to claim on your insurance if you have to cancel. We had to cancel at a weeks notice and got no help from the London office and an email to Barbara Muckermann, the CEO, went unanswered.
  9. Communication regarding major and totally unacceptable changes to itineraries comes from the marketing department, or at least it used to. There are at least two previous threads covering this issue.
  10. What on earth is ‘primo’ time. I’ve tried Google translate and it hadn’t a clue.
  11. Whilst the onboard experience has changed since RCG took over, mostly it’s still positive with some beneficial changes. What has deteriorated is the service provided by the shore based staff. Those in the London office try to do their best but have been hamstrung by significant changes to how they operate and the flexibility they can offer to guests. As for the marketing department, it’s still heading downhill.
  12. Hi Spins, hope you are having a great time and that your crossing will be uneventful.
  13. Many thanks @Fletcher, have thoroughly enjoyed following you along.
  14. We’ve been upgraded with a GTY, and we have also been offered an upgrade on arrival.
  15. Not quite, you forgot the socks drying on a chair in the Paranoia.
  16. It’s useful to do this before you leave as it disappears as soon as the voyage starts. I usually download it and store it on my iPad, but a smart phone will work.
  17. Joe took the Book home and drank all the whiskey.
  18. Good luck with Djibouti, we were meant to go there years ago and then the Seabourn ship got hit by pirates and it got canned. Will be very interested to hear what it is like. As long as you are not fussed by the alcohol restrictions both Jeddah and Yanbu are interesting destinations and if the trip to St Catherine’s Monastery is offered in Sharm, it is well worth the long bus ride. Enjoy!
  19. Just put in what you feel like giving, there is no right or wrong.
  20. Especially the baseball caps, welded on at birth!
  21. But not a patch on the originals and IMHO nothing like as good as those from Tassie and New Zealand.
