  1. We have the same scenario. I thought about trying to test at the airport before our 6am flight but it’s a very small airport without any quiet spaces - especially now with so many folks traveling. Recent flying experience had a packed airport at 4:30 am. So right now, we are thinking about the online testing at about 2am.
  2. Wow, cool! After all the Celebrity cruises we’ve been on I have never tried Cafe al Bacio for anything other than fancy coffees, iced teas and dessert. I must fix that come November!
  3. For a quiet spot we like the Ensemble Lounge. Great little areas within the lounge with comfy couches and chairs. For a fun more active bar we like the martini bar and sit at the bar for bartender mixing entertainment or chatting with fellow guests.
  4. Hi Aloha 1 - Looking forward to following your journey. Thank you for posting! We will be sailing on the Edge in May with this same itinerary so I’m sure we will learn a lot from your experiences. This will be our first out of Barcelona. Question for you - how did you like staying at Meridien Hotel at La Rambla? Would you recommend it? I’d like to hear your thoughts as I’m in search of a place to stay 3 nights before embarkation. TIA. Wishing you smooth sailing. 😀🛳
  5. If you self disembark - you will be able to walk off with your luggage quite early. This puts time on your side as you will avoid the the masses. Also it’s face recognition for re-entry with passports - super fast. For domestic flights it s/b enough time but it’s good to ask the question for international flights. Others will be able to weigh in with specifics based on their experience with time needed international flights out of Miami.
  6. Good idea. Something to consider. If we can’t sleep, we may just may do that even though we do have a super early flight.
  7. Thank you posting as we’d like to use this service for our November cruise where we are flying into Ft Lauderdale 2 days early, so need to test from the hotel. Can you use an iPhone or iPad for the appointment? I’m hoping not to bring my laptop down with me. TIA!
  8. After reading a lot of posts about Eden being booked up quickly - I booked a reservation for our May 2023 cruise, as we didn’t want to be dining super late. It’s an amazing dining experience with delicious but a lot of rich food to consume. Last November we had to take a very late reservation as it was the only one available & we were sailing at 50% capacity. I do think we received a discount at that time, but can’t recall what it was.
  9. I haven’t seen that promo online in a long but will rely on there to confirm. However, I believe there is a Celebrity discount promo of 9% off dining or drink packages. You may want to check out the Celebrity site to ensure it’s still going on.
  10. You can also get complimentary specialty coffees at the Captains Club breakfast (continental type breakfast held daily) along with bloody Mary’s & mimosas at no charge.
  11. Thank you for posting the link to sign up and just did so for our upping EQ cruise. I had skipped doing this on our last cruise and wished that I had signed up because once a day housekeeping is more than enough for us.
  12. Unfortunately, the only consistent thing about talking to a Celebrity rep is the inconsistency in answers or solutions provided. This has been my experience with Captains Club, Celebrity sales, Future Bookings on board, and Blue Chip Club. Luckily in most instances I’ve received a positive outcome after multiple phone calls & speaking to different reps. I’m not complaining just sharing an observation based on experiences knowing this is sometimes the action needed to take on my part. I’m thinking maybe a screen shot can be emailed to the rep while on the phone to show them the offer. 😉 Since they have the ability to email me confirmations that I look over while I have them on the phone - they must in turn have the option to view incoming emails that could verify the offer. 😀
  13. Sorry for hijacking this thread. But want to say - Thank you for the Blu info which I think helps to support that it appears booking AQ is worth it for Blu alone. Best of both worlds to have MD classics available! That is great newsI I’m not a picky eater at all - but in looking at the Blu menu for our sailing, I was thinking some MD classics would be a great alternative to what was listed. This is our first time in AQ and are super excited!
  14. Yeah! I was hoping someone post their recent EQ Blu experience and was able to order escargot and shrimp cocktail. Thanks for confirming!
  15. My favorite too with Hendricks and extra lime juice.
  16. Hi! I was wondering about using these one of online proctoring companies along with unopened covid test kits that I already have on hand. Curious if Celebrity would accept these and if you have had first hand experience of Celebrity accepting the confirmation of a negative test from one of the online companies? Would like to go this route for an upcoming cruise - but worried Celebrity would reject and not accept something from other than a well known proctoring service when they check the paperwork at embarkation. TIA!
  17. On the EQ last March the crew were more than happy to open the metal bottles. So sometimes I asked them to open befor taking the bottles back to our cabin. I noticed that the crew would tap the top of the bottle on the counter to release the pressure and then they were easy to open. Only issue I experienced were that the bottles may leak if the tops are unknowingly loose or askew.
  18. We are now doing the same. Normally a 3.5 hour nonstop east coast flight - and fly in 1 day before to FLL or MIA. For our upcoming November’s cruise we are going in 2 days earlier and taking first flight out early a.m. with a connection at a major hub just in case...
  19. When you board the ship head straight to the main dining room - where there will be a supervisor to assist you with your request. The longer you wait to go to the MD to resolve, the longer the line. The staff work really hard to make your cruise the best possible, so they will likely find a positive resolution to meet your needs. Kind words, calm demeanor will go a long way when discussing your request. I’ve seen guests get unhinged and yell - which isn’t helpful to anyone. I bet if you go to the MD letting them know you need to change the timing for dining - they will accommodate. Especially if you let them know to have an 8 year old that needs to eat earlier than 8:30pm (11:30 your home time). BTW - the crew loves kids!!😀🛳
  20. Even though flights aren’t open yet for your itinerary-it would be good to search which carriers are flying from LHR to your destination and their schedules. Although schedules change quite a bit (especially now), it will give you an idea of which airlines you’d like to fly on, how many flights are going out in case one gets cancelled or delayed, what the layover time is if there is a connection, etc. I did that for our upcoming Caribbean cruise and next year’s Mediterranean cruise. So when it came to book with Celebrity Air for the Caribbean cruise, I had an idea of the airline, the flight times and even the seats I preferred. Same held true for booking the flights for the Med cruise, and was able to book with points for the those flights. It’s fun to plan and doing the research!
  21. I started to type out the various scenarios we had experienced where we received and didn’t receive refunds for trip insurance not needed due to cancelled cruises, and realized there are so many factors that impact the outcome. We’ve experienced 5 different cancellations where we have received: a refund, zero refund, credit for future travel, and the ability to transfer policy to another trip. So many factors will weigh in to drive the outcome. I think since it’s money on the table - it would be worth a call to Celebrity or your TA to confirm.
  22. You can upgrade from classic to premium- but what I think the previous poster was saying that there won’t be a Captains Club loyalty discount (usually 10%) available on that cost difference. For example, as a Captains Club member - I usually ask customer service for the CC member discount on my upgrade and they take 10% off of the cost to do so. This may not be an option due to the fact it’s your first Celebrity cruise, and it’s dependent on the Captains Club perk level. But it doesn’t hurt to ask for a discount. The worst they could say is no. 😀
  23. hi! In looking at the deck plans for the Beyond - the family veranda cabin isn’t listed. Those veranda cabins can be found on the S class ships like Equinox, Solstice, etc and the C class ships like the Constellation. For sailing with 3 adults in one cabin on the Beyond you may want to consider: a Celebrity Suite (if budget allows) or a cabin with a pull out bed on the couch (not ideal - but may depend on how much time you spend in the cabin). I recently shared the family veranda on the EQ with my Sis and was so happy to have the “extra” bedroom for some down time. Only downside was it was a bit noisy when it dropped anchor and thrusters were on and you could def feel the wake. Great space though.
