  1. When I said 8 months, that’s the interval between now and the cruise the OP is thinking of booking. I believe most credit cards will cover 540 days, so basically almost a year and a half.
  2. I suppose we don’t know what the owners are willing to endure, but they are long time travel industry experts, so I can’t imagine they went into the purchase and restart with rose colored glasses. Certainly wouldn’t be afraid to put my money on the line for service just 8 months away. My understanding, if you put it on a credit card, especially American Express, but also Visa and Master Card, and the vendor defaults, you are covered when it’s only 8 months out.
  3. All three Holiday Inns (2 are Express) are on Seawall Blvd. Be sure you make a reservation at the correct one.
  4. If you go to the deck plan on crystalcruises.com and hover your mouse over each suite, a box will pop up and tell you if it's classic, 2018 or new. I don't believe there are more than a few Aquamarines that are new on Serenity. Patty
  5. Was listening to the 60s channel on Sirius XM and they played "Come and Get Your Love". I'll never hear that without thinking of John Joseph! Patty
  6. Everyone received the same amount. The person you quoted wasn't owed nearly as much as you were owed.
  7. I believe I've read that those not in the US will get a wire transfer. You will be contacted to get the information for the transfer, but not until early 2024.
  8. To your comment at the end of your post, what's sad is that if they broke into your house, stole your silver, got caught and went to trial, they might end up in prison, but in this case they are still living as high off the hog as ever without one thought to everyone they (can't say that word)! Patty
  9. Think that will be hard to accomplish when the central issue is people's MONEY!!ðŸ˜ąðŸ˜ĩðŸĪŠ Patty
  10. I have booked 2 cruises in a Double Oceanview as the Single was not available. I decided not to waitlist for the Single as it is unclear what Crystal will do. In both cases I paid 150% of the Double fare listed. The Single varies but has been around 120% of the Double fare. That is not to say that the 50% will always apply. I think it depends on how well the cruise is selling. So, I think the answer is "it depends". Patty
  11. Muriel, Where are you? Hope you are having such a good time you haven't had been able to get back here to make a report!! Patty
  12. ðŸ˜ą I didn't notice the difference when I was on in July. Will try to pay attention when I'm back on in January.ðŸĪŠ Patty
  13. It will vary by cruise for all lines. It isn't unusual for 4 cruises in a row to be 450, 525, 375, 425 (just examples) but the crew will remain more or less the same as they can't send crew home for just a few cruises.
  14. I have added the email address that old Crystal had for me at least 5 times on the new Crystal website with no luck whatsoever. I added another email address and I don't get any correspondence on it from them but I did notice that is the email address listed on a booking I made this week. So, they are more than happy to take my deposit money but don't send me anything. ðŸ˜ąðŸ˜ĩ😉 That being said, I figure between this site and Facebook, I'll know anything happening. Patty P.S. I've had 469 nights on assorted Crystal, old and new.
  15. Men are no longer required to wear ties, just a jacket with nice slacks. It is no longer "formal". I've cruised Crystal since 2007 and have never worn a formal gown or a cocktail dress. My last formal gown was the senior prom! ðŸĪŠðŸ˜‰ðŸ˜ą Patty
  16. Enjoy reading all the historical information. I go back to "just" 2007, so the Harmony was gone and the wall had already been removed for the Starlite. Patty
  17. Just a small correction to a typo on Keith's post, he has been sailing Crystal since 2002 not 2022. I agree with him 100% on all of Crystal's qualities. Patty
  18. It's also interesting how many people here that you'd expect to know better call it Starlight. Patty
  19. Based on his posts here over the years, Vince seems to understand more about the travel industry than the rest of us put together. Patty
  20. Credit Card incur a fee. The fee would reduce the amount available to be paid out by 2 to 3 percent.
  21. Kate, interesting. I looked at my Jan. cruise and there aren't excursion prices listed for it either. I remember when my July cruise finally had excursions listed, prices were included. Wonder if Crystal is repricing excursions? Call them? Patty
  22. And the caddy at tea is not new to the new Crystal. It was being used on the old Crystal. Think it might have started after the return from the Covid shut down, but not 100% sure to that as I'm not a tea person. Patty
  23. He moved over to the Crystal Serenity and it doesn't leave Quebec until tomorrow.
  24. You do understand this will not happen from either Houston airport? It is over 40 miles from HOU (Hobby) to the port at Galveston and 70 miles from IAH (Bush Intercontinental) to the port at Galveston?
  25. If you check a few cruises you will notice that the single cabins have about a 20% supplement to the per person charge for the double windows. The old Crystal had a 25% single supplement increased to 30% toward the end based on the double occupancy per person fare for the window cabins. So, the new fares are not in line to the old way of calculating a single supplement. There's no doubt that the new Crystal is not as single friendly as the old Crystal. As an FYI, some of the other "luxury" cruise lines have a 50% single supplement with 25% on a selection of cruises. Patty
