  1. I believe you can book them on the TV, in the app, or on the screens around the ship. my experience on three of four MSC sailings is that the non-US passengers, especially the women, will dress up more for every dinner, not just formal nights. EM
  2. I have always thought one reason CC does not allow PMs is bullying/harassment. EM
  3. I suspect careful reading of the guidelines would give some ideas
  4. You’re in luck, because Cunard isn’t doing one at that time. QM2 is still on world cruise. But no one else is, either. Pick another time. But you have misread the thread title, or totally missed the point of the thread. EM
  5. I just renewed my GE in Feb., online. But I will need to renew passport next year. I was just assuming I could do the update online. Guess I’ll find out. EM
  6. She’s coming from Seven Seas Splendor. EM
  7. I am going to post some pics i took on Divina. The first is 12173, at the time I took them it was a standard balcony. The next cabin was also a standard bella balcony, but it is one of a number of cabins on Divina that had a tub/shower rather than just a shower, so does not have a full couch, just a soft chair: Cabin 8114 The next is 9201, now classed as a junior balcony: EM
  8. The OP said she has done everything she wanted to do in Ketchikan, which means she has already been to Alaska at least once. EM
  9. There is no way to turn them off. There is another very recent thread here about fooling them on the Ruby. Look for it for multiple suggestions. EM
  10. To find out where the smoking areas are, you ask/ read on the boards here for that cruise line. How much shade depends on ship design, cabin location, latitude, longitude, direction of travel…. EM
  11. The lines I have sailed, the menus and quality are equal across the fleet. Just that the newer ships tend to be larger and therefore have more options. EM
  12. It’s in a sealed envelope. If the envelope has been tampered with, you go to guest services to get a new one. If someone steals it, they can’t use it because when it is scanned your picture will come up, and if they don’t match…EM
  13. Cruise lines used to book gty shares. My niece had one in 1999 when we went to South America on Princess. EM
  14. Your junior balcony is a smaller cabin with no interior seating, (no couch or chair) and a more shallow balcony. Fine if you are cruising solo. And for only 4 days. If the premium balcony is pp total, not per day, I would take it. EM
  15. Equinox is just off Port Everglades. Caribbean Princess is already in port. EM
  16. Port Everglades webcam shows you already in the turning basin. Equinox will follow you shortly. EM
  17. Many ships have a promenade deck with smoking allowed on one side of it. Usually there are decks of balconies above it. If you are a non-smoker and smoke bothers you, you need to find out which side the smoking area is, and book the opposite side. EM
  18. If you have done a transit and have wonderful photos you love, you can have them made into jigsaw puzzles. There are companies that do this. My pics go to Shutterfly and you can get puzzles made from 60 - 1000 pieces. EM
  19. Just for the record, there were four Grand class ships with the shopping cart handle Skywalkers. Only the first ship to have it, the Grand, had it removed because of the weight of the structure. It is still present on Golden and Star, sailing now down under for P&O Australia, and the Caribbean. EM
  20. Click on chengkp75 username and read his posts and you will find the probable cause. Or you could read through this thread. EM
  21. At this point, no one knows what requirements will be by Jan 2023. Get them vaccinated and you won’t have to fret about it. EM
  22. I believe the only recent times ships have missed Aruba were Covid related. Early on when ships had Covid onboard and were denied porting, or when they were delayed at the canal because of Covid testing and had to make up time. EM
  23. I have sailed a lot on Carnival, never on Royal. Not that I have anything against them, but they were never convenient, or in my budget. I don’t like the larger/largest ships, so don’t think I will sail Mardi Gras, and that pretty much rules out the Oasis class. My question is, why have you chosen a cruise? Are you going for the ports, or for the floating resort? I don’t think a first cruise should ever be on the biggest and newest. There a lots of ships with plenty of amenities that are a bit smaller, and newer. Also consider the ease/cost of travel to the departure port. And the cost of the hotel the night before, because you should always fly in a day early, especially in winter. EM
