The Coral P4incess came in yesterday (Thursday) and they started disembarking passengers at 6.30, but doesn’t always happen -
I like searching from a certain online agency in Canberra which we can’t name and see what’s available and then see what the cruise line prices are

Loyalty obviously means nothing to P&O
rkmw replied to pacificlover's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
That’s the cruise I was talking about, earlier you could book all categories as a solo and not now and I don’t want to spend $4000 on a mini suite -

This is the first time I’ve seen this with Princess not allowing solos to book a cruise unless they want to cruise in a mini suite RCL have solo cabins but their not cheap, and not many of them available unless you book very early -

I saw a Princess cruise this coming December from Sydney and any solos can’t book an inside cabin , you can book for 2 and maybe the 2nd person can be a no show and get your fees and taxes but no use ringing p&o or Princess because it gets you no where, they want to fill up the ship with 2 or more people per cabin just had a look at the cruise again and solos can’t get an oceanview or a balcony but if they wish to pay $4000 for an 11 night cruise to the South Pacific they can get a mini suite -
the air fare home is as dear as the cruise

Not sure if people are aware that if you book an RC future cruise onboard for one of their ships with the Next Cruise desk and your circumstances change you have 2 months to transfer the whole booking to any RC ship in the fleet including any deposits and OBC I was booked on the Ovation this coming November and my travel partner had to bail out of the booking and I was able to go from 2 people booked to a studio balcony on the Quantam for one person and everything was moved over to the new booking and I was given $100 US OBC from the old booking and my OBC had reduced to $50 with only me cruising solo

Private Transport SYD to Harbour Marriott
rkmw replied to milolii's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I drove taxis in Sydney in my early days and I would never go to a pre arranged job because some people come out and grab the first taxi and it takes too much mucking around so people are better off not booking a taxi and grabbing the first one off the rank, much easier -
Depends how many planes have landed , you can walk straight thru or it can take an hour and be careful of the sniffer dogs there

Do Uber and/or Lyft work in Australia & New Zealand?
rkmw replied to KKB's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Anyone got an Uber from Sydney domestic airport and just wondering where the pick up point is -
Yes you can cancel the booking online, if you sign into your booking and under the invoice details you will find it there but if you want to go on another cruise give them a call and they might let you transfer to another cruise

Non-refundable deposits Carnival vs Princess
rkmw replied to aussielozzie18's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
When you’re on a Princess cruise buy a FCD ( future cruise deposit) and you can cancel more than 181 days out and get your FCD back to use again …..under 181 days normal cancellation fees apply would be nice if Carnival have the same option to buy FCD but they don’t have the option to buy any onboard -

rkmw replied to arxcards's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
If you want a lunch time snack try the deli on deck 9 aft Portside just at the Serenity Pool and they have a lunch time bbq on deck 10 inside just above the Buffett and it’s quite popular -

Geoff if you haven’t found out yet, deck 9 and 5 are the only ones that go all the way thru unless you use the passenger decks best to use the Hub app to book your evening meal if doing anytime dining in the Black Pearl deck 3 forward near guest services , Set dining is deck 3 aft MDR for breakfast is in the Gold Pearl 3 aft but need to book a time with the Hub app -
I think FCD are only good for cruises up to 44 days

Tender access on Ovation of the seas
rkmw replied to rabbit1971's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
At some tender ports the tenders bob up and down from the seas so with a wheel chair it can be difficult -
Lot of people like the disable cabin because of the extra room but you was lucky to get moved and they didn’t have to after booking a guarantee
