  1. Came across by accident. Although not having current live knowledge, one knows a poster who may. @D&N could you kindly assist?
  2. Ask one’s driver to stop at Melvina’s (If she, or her rum shack, is still around). - The islander’s name for Bush Rum is “Wa Bio” Be brave, but be very afraid……
  3. Apologies. Should have stated Martinique is a separate island a great distance from San Juan, with the distilleries sited there. On one’s next visit to Martinique a distillery visit is recommended, especially La Favorite, when the cane is being crushed and Rhum is being produced
  4. As a quick conversation of ECD to USD - Divide the ECD by 2 - Then deduct 20% Therefore ECD 50 = USD 20
  5. Then consider Catherine’s Cafe…. https://catherines-cafe.com Beach (Chair) Menu…. There is also a small on site boutique selling a great variety of useful upmarket holiday items, food and clothing. Cab fare…. $40/50 per cab each way - journey time about 35/40 minutes - Outward driver will be pleased to be time bold for the return to port. Add 10 minutes to the time for ride back, because of possible heavy traffic. Book one’s day in advance……. Excellent food, drinks, service and ambiance Enjoy
  6. Just trying to assist the OP Personally, never undertaken, a tad tacky. However posters have stated they booked on board, then touted the booking to TAs, and whoever gave the biggest discount, additional OBC etc., had the onboard booking transferred to them.
  7. Additional…. Think Yellow is the only bar that will take an advance booking for the desired “Front Row” for one’s group. But do book very early for this beach beds position.
  8. The only differences are… K is attached to a hotel that allows day guests to use (pay) beds and food/drink. Y has a more relaxed ambiance, with food/drink at a slightly lower price point. Advance booking is advisable. Recommend both…. Check out their webs for all information, photos etc., to make a decision based on one’s personal preferences. No doubt other Pinel visitors on CC will add their thoughts.
  9. Cab from Port Rank…..Work on about $35/40.00 per cab pus tip…
  10. Will one’s party be wishing to take lunch, albeit at a chair or seated at a table?
  11. If taking a private tour, discreetly, and confidentiality, ask one’s driver if it would be possible to try “Bush Rum”. The rum is basically Moonshine infused with various herbs (?) grown on the island. Certain infusions can have the effect of numbing one’s lips and mouth. With other infusions giving the feeling that one’s eyes are trying to escape via the back of one’s head. A vendor will have a great variety, with those for the very, very brave “under the counter”. How brave is one? 😱
  12. To assist one will give a realistic indication as to time lines. Usually, without any dockside problems, or a medical emergency, self disembarkation is approximately 1.5 hours after fully docking, UK Customs ship inspections/procedures and luggage offloaded. Collection of suitcases from terminal and the queue to go through to Customs, is about 30 minutes. Allow 3 hours for journey without any comfort break, because of morning Southampton and usual London traffic. No allowance is made for late docking, extra heavy traffic or motorway and/or road accidents, which will cause delays or detours.
  13. A ferry would be an excellent idea if one wished to then take a taxi private tour of the island, to see everything of interest. If wishing a beach visit, then take https://bluewatersafaris.com/tour/nevis-beach-getaway/ Or Bluewater offer a complete tour package https://bluewatersafaris.com/tour/nevis-plantation-beach-experience/
  14. La Favorite, Depaz and Clement are all on Martinique, where Rhum is distilled.
  15. For Ferry https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/blog/ferry-schedule-to-pinel-island For Beds/Food/Drink venues…. Karibuni: https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant Yellow: https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant
  16. Never taken the tour, but noted no replies to one questions. Suggest one contacts the probable venue direct - It’s good to talk… https://www.academyrum.com/?utm_source=GMB&utm_medium=Organic&utm_campaign=GMB WHERE TO FIND US Loose Cannon Galleon Beach, Freeman's Bay, Antigua and Barbuda Henry@academyrum.com (268) 771-9696
  17. Close? There was a new venue just mentioned, it looks good…. Take a view - Make a booking - Then post a review on CC - https://www.thbeachclub.com Other venues are available, but involve a $20/50 cab ride away, but worth it. On the same (St James) beach as Treehouse are some basic bar/bed/umbrella places with facilities. With regard to prices, there are $10/20 basic venues on St James, but on the island are venues with no upper limits. But one pays the money and makes the choice.
  18. OMG!….. The video makes the place, ambience, food, beach etc., look worse than one experienced (once only)…. So glad one takes Cap Maison when selecting an AI. Thank you for posting……
  19. To assist… Good luck Silver Moon - https://silvermoonbarbados.com Elegance - https://www.elegancebarbados.com Calypso - https://calypsocruisesbarbados.com
  20. Acknowledge the invitation on Antigua to post on this thread for Tortola. One has stated many times that the beach experience is to be found on Brewer,’s. With regard to tours, could you state interests, wish to see, etc., because then one, plus CC, can assist. There is so much to see/do, so it’s best to prioritise one’s bucket. Also, one invites @blue_water to join (and follow) these exchanges, as they appear to have a finger on the pulse of all that’s good and currently happening in BVI
  21. One is very kind….. What goes around….
  22. Not only will one have a great tour, you’ll also find Lawrence is a very generous host when is comes to “refreshments” provided during the tour. Enjoy…. A gratuity to the guide will be unexpected and greatly appreciated.
  23. US Dollars are most acceptable………. Cash is king
  24. Plywood update Thank you so much for this valuable update…. Will now make others aware of the poor state of Plywood, so they make the right and informed choice.
