  1. So... When airlines have the "hiccups" due to reservation system snafus , weather...etc... Do you also decide never to fly that airline again?? Its unfortunate people were inconveniened due to the boating tragedy but like any major delay there will always be better ways it could have been handled. Hopefully MSC learned from it as it likely has never happened since they have been departing from FL. Its so easy to play armchair QB
  2. Happy sailing Morph... Look forward to reading your comments and observations. Been reading Genx review for this past week and it appears things seem to be getting back to normal along with new crew (coming back from leave)....Hopefully the staffs "A" crew is back on board!!
  3. Then remove the message icon from your site??? Can’t be that hard!!
  4. Yes... first time I saw 2 different lines. One for Passport holders (facial recognition) and one for BC holders. We only had BC's and there was no line at all!
  5. Good to know!! Thank you!! Then again not sure how I will spend all the OBC...since everything but gratuities is pretty much included?? Nice problem to have though!!
  6. Hi..Tried to message you,,, but it said the feature was disabled????
  7. Well its a National Cruise Internet booking company...They do have Customer Service...so I guess you are right...althoughI have never had to call after booking my past 15 cruises online since 2000
  8. Thanks for your review… yours and the cruise prior were difficult and frustrating. I agree with many of your on ship observations. I’ve mentioned this numerous times… I would never cruise MSC outside Yacht Club … just too many customer service and overall service inconsistencies which fortunately are greatly minimized in Yacht Club
  9. Additionally… the cruise price was the same on MSC online booking engine… with no OBC given. I’m sure there is some when they do their sales
  10. Not sure how that could happen… many times agencies get incentives as well as pass along some of their kickbacks ( commissions) to provide extra incentives to book. I book exclusively online with no human interaction … my 3 “ go to” sites had the same cruise price but the OBC was different on each site
  11. I find I get more OBC via internet booking >>>For example I received $800 OBC for booking a YC cabin...and this was 0ver 9 months out which included my %5 Voyagers discount and an additional 5% for booking 9+ months out!
  12. My 2 cents.... I feel "boxed in" in AI resorts. Depending where you would travel to ...you just can't wander off into town without safety concerns. Additionally a big plus for cruising with children/teens... especially at that age... They would have Teen club night activities which would keep them occupied and allow worry free fun for the adults.
  13. Should be no different than asking for a glass of soda. Butler's and YC servers will go out of their way to to meet your expectations and requests
  14. Totally agree … but I don’t go on a cruise looking for something bad to happen. I don’t nit pick… I/we pretty much stay to ourselves and expect little in return. I can’t imagine having a poor experience in YC unless your expectations are off the chart and your comparing to Haven and Reflections. Yes there may be issues n main area of ship… but I don’t feel he same inconsistency in YC. To each their own.
  15. "We were in the YC in April...and when we ventured out, we found it to be very heavily a "non-American crowd" from a culture where pushing is a way of life." When we cruised MSC in 2018 and 2019 ...we saw the exact same thing. The concept of " give me some space" was non existent....lol
  16. Bad past couple weeks doesn't necissarily mean bad later this month and onward. All you can do is report your experiences and future feedback will tell the story....but remember....its usually those with a beef who report back....some will say they didn't see anything like that and were on same cruise.
  17. " am reluctant on YC because it is significantly more money and I'm not sure how much of the problem areas MSC can really improve on in the YC enclave. Being in YC won't fix the obnoxious guest behavior in shows, bluetooth speakers in the thermal suite, ridiculous lines for a slice of pizza, or elevator situation (unless YC cards somehow override other elevator requests as I have seen on older ships - I am unsure about this)." If your traveling with family and not all of you can stay in YC...valid points. However...from my past experience in YC there are many advantages such as 1) Concierge (so you don't have to deal with that Customer Relations fiasco) 2) Escorts to shows and reserved seating section 3) Butler escorting you entrance way when leaving ship on port days 4)Seperate line for tendering back to ship 5) All the food options you want/need without leaving YC 6) Wonderful Top sail lounge for casual drinks.... I could go on. Yes they have override on Elevators..although they do not always work. I do realize you want to see and enjoy other areas of the ship.... We cruised with our preteen grandson both times and he of course wanted to go to the Jungle Pool, Sports deck, slides etc I accompanied him and was able to put up with the language barriers, some rude behavior, crowds, etc....but always knowing the solitude of YC wasn't far away. Its been almost 4 years since we last sailed MSC...We will be in YC, on Seascape, over Thanksgiving. Ive read of some cutbacks even in YC since our last cruise in 2019. Ill be inetrested in comparing...but wife and I aren't needy and I am 100% certain my wife wont leave YC except for perhaps the Gym and early morning deck walks. I will continue to roam the ship during days and evenings to people watch and hit Casino and Sports Bar.
  18. Good luck with that... On our last MSC cruise in 2019 we were told we would be compensated for missing Ocean Cay (delayed opening). I called and sent several emails and never got a straight answer or the amount of the FCC. We were in YC
  19. I can only imagine!! We cruised on Seaside in 2018 and 2019... but prior all I read was negativity and inconsistency so although we always cruised in balconey cabins on other lines. as a safety net, .... I took the leap to YC and haven't looked back.... In fairness they have beautiful ships and some really nice areas...its just a shame that the service levels and customer service continue to be inconsistent and/or slow.
  20. I do not mean to be condescending..... but I continue to read disappointed recviews from experienced cruisers who have taken a MSC cruise. Not sure what improvements they expected to see when the same negative feedback is provided on many MSC cruises. They continue to share the feedback...but continue to cruise/try the line! I have said this numerous times.... Yacht Club is the only way to go if you cruise MSC. Even some bad experiences in Yacht Club can be overlooked due to above average service and amenities...the same can't be said for the other part of ship. Ive cruised YC 2x and have seen the chaos and inconsistent service when walking through the ship. Other than the occasional stroll to see the ship.... I usually just go to Sports Bar, Atrium or Casino. Outside Public areas and the buffet are a no go. For the few hundred dollars you save.... just cruise other lines for a more enjoyable experience ...MSC still has alot of growing to do in the N American market
  21. Weve cruised 5X with our grandson...from age 6-13. Brought letter with us each time...Never asked for it when embarking or disembarking. 2 of the 5 cruises were on RCL. AS a side note...just include the medical decision authorization as a seperate paragrah on the consent letter.... A lot easier
  22. I guess your hands are tied then since names need to match for flights, transfers and the cruise. Had you booked air seperately it would have been easier for you since you could have sent a copy of BC to RCL to change reservation to the more formal name. Im sure it will all work out
  23. You do not need ID for air flights for minors.... So whether reservation is under Kathy or Katherine is irrelvant assuming its domestic travel. However I do see you booked thru Air2sea ...so I am assuming they are tied in together even though airline will not care nor know
  24. eery site on Port Of Miami webcam with ships anchored in distance waiting on clearence to enter Port https://www.portmiamiwebcam.com/
  25. Yup... Very rare delays happen.... but like today, inbound and outbound traffic around pier will be unbearable with major delays
