  1. All I can say is ...OBC = On Board Credit. Nothing deceiving about this. Its money to be used on the ship and will be debited off any purchases/withdrawals you make!! As several of us have stated...there are ways to pocket cash...but you need to make transactions on the ship. Seems simple to me to understand?! Those who say they get unspent $$ back from other lines....I don't consider that OBC. Its like the Govt holding your cash since you have too much withdrawn (lol). In this case why wouldn't you just reduce the price of your cruise at payment??
  2. I watch my room charge statement and calculate my mandatory gratuities then I know how much extra i have left. Ive never gone directly to cashier… just charged the amount to my room on one of slot machines. Then i cashed out and took ticket voucher to cashier for cash
  3. Congrat's!!! 14 days of restful luxury. You will be spoiled. Hope you have a blast!!
  4. Nice little disturbance East of Miami! Well atleast you had the chance to enjoy on your first leg!! Feel bad for those on this weeks cruise.
  5. Thats what I do.... I take a cash advance against room ...play a few slots and cash out....
  6. Blue.... Your attitude is "right on".... When I first cruised MSC 5 years ago...I too kept reading negative reviews prior to my cruise...which concerned me since I had cruised about 15x previously on other lines. Not wanting to risk it.... I decided YC would be a safety net. Boy what a great decision!! Love MSC ships and YC. Observing the people, crowds and inconsistent service outside YC....not so much. Note...we cruised exclusively Carnival for about 10 years when my kids were in school....so Im familar with ship behavior/people issues (lol). However...now that were older (60's) don't have patience in dealing with crowds and unorganazation at times. I am sure you will have a great time...plenty of areas on ship to get away from crowds...just becomes a mass of humanity at night in the atrium area. If you have patience, can roll with the flow and are not constantly looking for negatives....you will be just fine
  7. Disagree... For 20+ years I have always cruised high season....including Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. The further out you book the lower the prices. I used to almost always book cruises 3-6 months out... the last few I have booked close to a year out . Huge savings with YC early booking....The price I am paying on my upcoming Thanksgiving week YC Seascape cruise is the lowest all my 3 YC cruises and my other YC cruises were in 2018 and 2019
  8. I would disagree about YC pricing being only fair...Still a huge value compared to Celebrity Reflections and NCL Haven plus you get more. Viking and Oceania aren't even on my radar... not interested in those lines. If you book YC a year out... up to 20% discounts. When you factor in the inclusives such as Beverage's.... There is not a big difference over a large balcony cabin on other lines after you add in the beverage plan cost on those lines s
  9. Cruised on Odyssey last Thanksgiving... We walked off ship at 8am (Disembarkation started earlier). Went thru customs , grabbed a taxi and was at Airport by 8:35. Going thru TSA took longer 45 min! but was at gate area by 9:20.... for a 10:30 flight. So if you leave immediately...you have a real good chance of making flight assuming TSA isn't a issue... 2 different lines at immigration...Passport holders and those with BC's... Neither had a large line. but PP line went quicker with Facial Recognition
  10. How is the Sports Bar involved?? Everything I've read has centered on deck 12 and 9??
  11. I think your being a bit negative.... Don't overly worry and wait until you have chance to experience MSC and YC. Everyones expectations and views are different
  12. Your Butler could have assisted you...or just ask Concierge and another Butler would have brought you to YC seating area.

    CDC

No need to bring any proof of vaccinations...atleast on Carribean cruises.
  14. I've cruised YC 2x and interloppers came and go but never ruined the experience. As others have said...there is so much talk about YC...people are curious and want to sneak in to see it. I never saw anyone being served alcohol or food...Butlers always had a close eye in these areas. I think MSC should go back to allowing a minimal amount of daily passes for YC. They were $99pp back in 2018. But did not include dinner and top sail lounge. Only One pool deck and food offerings on the deck.
  15. Thank you for the additional information. I agree shes a beautiful ship… i recently sailed in Odyssey so i can visualize their Panorama lounge. Hopefully we will have the chance to cruise this ship or her sisters out of FL in future!
  16. I've read around $200 per cabin
  17. wow...20 booked cruises!! I do agree. We are older and all the bells and whistles and new offerings really don't appeal to us as it may have 20+ years ago when we had children under our roof! AS expected the new ships are always higher....as demand makes it very easy to charge more!
  18. You are correct....but unless you are loyal to RCL...their product isn't worth paying higher cruise rates than their competitors
  19. We enjoy the bar in the Solariums.... not as crowded and you really get to know the bartender and after a day or 2 ....they know your drink of choice.
  20. Thanks for your review!! I see there are 20+ more YC cabins than the last 2 Seaside class ships...likely contributing to the YC restaurant crowding and opening of new dining alternative La Brasserie. Hadn't payed much attention to Europa's design and see it has a Oasis style flair (Opening in Stern area)!?
  21. I have found the pricing the same as you could get thru your TA or online booking sites. The main benefits seem to be some additional OBC which you can keep if you move booking to a TA and more relaxed cancellation rules for your deposit
