If your an experienced cruiser...why even bother with a TA?? Ive booked directly through online agencies atleast 20x since 2000...Ive only had to call them 2x. Its easy peasy and you get alot of OBC.... Im getting $800 for a YC cruise on Seascape in November.

Time for flight home from Fort Lauderdale
lcpagejr replied to OCVTSGIRL's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Similar experience when we cruised Odyssey over Thanksgiving....Had a 10:30 am flight. Disembarked ship at 8am (could had gotten off earlier) and was at curb outside terminal in 20 min....at Airport at 8:40....Going thru TSA was longer than disembarking and taking cab to Airport!! -
Seascape - Top 19 Solarium (Aurera Only Question)
lcpagejr replied to surfjock27's topic in MSC Cruises
Yes on Seaside I would regularly leave YC through a door which leads into Aurea. There is a glass divider with a door, which seperates Aurea and YC on right side of ship.... which YC passengers have code access to -
New MSC cruiser....tell me all about Yacht Club and Seaside!
lcpagejr replied to pirate4me2's topic in MSC Cruises
One of my favorite ships... Have done YC 2x on Seaside...Last time was 2019. You will have a blast...The ship within ship concept is best in industry in my opinion. Easy access to other areas outside YC.... if you choose. If you tender at any port....you can expect to skip the long lines when passengers return with priority tendering. Enjoy -
I cruised on Seasshore over Thanksgiving 2019. Decorations were put up during our cruise and ship was fully decorated when we disembarked. Ive cruised several other lines over Thanksgiving and similar to Seaside they usually were decorated during Thanksgiving week

your math is off... YC is not 5x more than a regular balcony plus its much cheaper than a Clebrity retreat cabin...

Oh I agree,,, I stupidly forgot about needing to book on line 72 hours before embarkation. When I tried to purchase (waiting game for lower price) 2 days before cruise....App wouldn't allow any purchases. This is why I know the BOGO 50% off was only available 1st day of cruise as we purchased immediately after boarding

On odyssey now. Some observations

Becci... I had a similar experience on our Thanksgiving cruise. Best RCCL cruise out 4 previous ones. Really liked the ship...then a gain I am more of a traditionalist. The Oasis class does nothing for me -
Beverage Package Prices Just Keep Going Up And Up!
lcpagejr replied to Dayman9966's topic in Royal Caribbean International
And we pay thru the nose for service charges based on inflated drink package costs...Then you get onboard and there is one bar server ... and it takes forever to get drinks. -
We sailed in the Yacht Club in January 2020 is it still as great?
lcpagejr replied to Nashna's topic in MSC Cruises
The later.... For YC...low $2000's pp for a week in high/holiday sailings is a bargain -
Bingo....Do not stray from YC.... This pretty much shelters you from inconsistencies in services, running out of items, dealing with unruly passengers, handling of crowds, getting off ship in ports, etc

18 YO traveling without parents
lcpagejr replied to Luke gs Daddy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Exactly! It is more about who is authorized to make decisions in his parents absence. They never look at it or request it. Its more like an insurance policy. When we've cruised with our preteen grandson 4 different times) we never were asked for it even with his last name being different and he being a minor. Immigration never asked to see it as well -
Seascape YCP cabins...19028,19025, & 18018,18019 ARE THEY LARGER ?
lcpagejr replied to Shippy's topic in MSC Cruises
Its wider...pretty much same layout. More room between bed and counter space. Also no Walk in closet -

lcpagejr replied to Nashna's topic in MSC Cruises
Not sure what pricing you are seeing.... But last month I booked a Thanksgiving cruise in YC Deluxe Suite on Seascape in low 2's pp. Compared to Celebrity, NCL, etc for a "ship within ship" experience...this is an absolute bargainand matched what I paid in 2018 when we first tried YC -
Interesting Video Review That Supports Recent Comments
lcpagejr replied to Fla Mike's topic in MSC Cruises
Small potatoes and whining...especially at beginning with Marathon. MSC wasn't only cruiseline impacted along with parking costs. Racism..give me a break?? Multi cultiural environment most definitely yes...deal with it. When he says he counted 3 black people..he was looking to address the R word. Under age children?? happens on every cruise line. How did he know the children in club were 16/17?? Upselling happens on every cruise line...perhaps MSC is a bit more in yourface...but it happens everywhere. His rest of comments were his opinions... Everyone is entitles to their opinion on their experience. If your looking to find problems and disagreement with a cruise and thats your MO when cruising you will find many issues on any line. As I've said on my past posts... This is why I only cruise MSC in YC .... Too many ethnic and multi cultural differences which along with MSC's organization and communication inconsitencies can be frustrating. YC shelters you from dealing with these issues. -
I was on Odyssey over Thanksgiving...Ship still feels and looks brand new
-
I ve cruised on Seaside class ships... You could wave to people through the dividing glass to Aurea sun deck which abutted the YC. There was a door you could enter YC from Aurea sun deck. Not sure where Aurea is on Meravaglia.... But don't sell your self short on the benefits, comfort and service of YC and their wonderful Pool deck.

Its a very easy drive from West Palm Beach...Done it several times with cruises out of FLL and MIA. Unfortunately I have only rented cars and dropped off in vicinity of pier. Also rented a car for return flight. I know your talking 10 people...but you may find it still cheaper to rent 2 large SUVs and drive to Miami....

Anyone else have chaotic disfunctional bar service?
lcpagejr replied to brianosaur's topic in MSC Cruises
Whatever... Ive cruise 25 x on all the main cruiselines.... I think I am qualified to state what I consider inconsistence service and poor organization in comparison to past cruises on other lines. Believe what you want.... but I know what I want and what I am willing to put up with. Anything under YC just doesn't compare to my past experiences as a balconey level cruises on other lines. Nuff said -

Please yourself.... MSC is not even up to the Carnival standard outside of YC..... Its a s___show in many ways -
Deck 18 is between deck 16 and deck 19....so not sure what noise your worrying about?
-
Still a bargain...other lines are higher for non suite daily service charges.

lcpagejr replied to brianosaur's topic in MSC Cruises
I continue to state the obvious...but if you are accustomed to cruising on other N American lines...you will be disappointed and frustrated if you cruise MSC outside of Yacht Club. I have cruised 2x on Seaside...both times in YC and had top notch service. I would often walk the ship and was amazed by the rudeness of passengers, long lines in Guest Services, lack of organization and slow service. I found if I visited the atrium bar and sportsbar mid day/early afternoon I had little problem getting a drink. Before or after dinner....my observations were of passengers 2 to 3 people deep at bars and very few servers taking drink orders. You get what you pay for....the cost difference of YC vs a high end balconey cabin on another line is not that much more when you factor in all the amenities you get in YC (drinks included, etc) . Save yourself frustration and book YC... and enjoy what MSC has to offer -
Just cruised RCL over Thanksgiving...There were 2 lines ... 1 for Passport holders (used facial recognition) and for Birth Certificate holders. Not sure if all cruise lines have Facial setup with Immigration. Since Royal has several Oasis size ships with 6000+ passengers ...this may have been setup to accomodate passenger flow for RCL
