Seascape June 11-18 review. Warning, it isnt pretty...

Yes...Collision of yacht and Ferry near entrance to Port delaying arrival of ships -
Utopia of the Seas Short Cruises??
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Apparently RCL is betting on the appeal being the ship and Coco Cay which will result on passengers spending most their $$ in RCL venues. I for one will stay clear of this large of ship with an amusement park type itinerary and 6000 passengers fighting to use the amenities on board and at Coco -
Utopia of the Seas Short Cruises??
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yeah.. but a b2b which visits Nassau 2x and Coco Cay 2x ....does not interest me. This could become Carnivals version of the short party cruises only with lots of kids! -
Utopia of the Seas Short Cruises??

Thank you...I will definitely read! -
Why would RCL build a behemoth ship and only sail her on 3/4 night cruises?? Seriously ...you won't be able to enjoy the ship nor experience all its amenities and areas.

My experience in YC has been nothing short of wonderful. I guess its based on expectations?? Ive never cruised in Haven or Retreat so I have nothing to compare YC to...But the price point for the services and exclusivity you receive can't be beat. Prior to YC ...Just a normal balcony cruiser on the other main lines and part of the herd. So the step up at an attractive price has been a huge plus. -

As I have said numerous times...If you have cruised many times in past you will have a field day finding negatives on MSC. However...if you cruise in Yacht Club...completely different experience!! We have cruised on MSC twice in YC with a 3rd coming up over Thanksgiving. My experience walking through the non yacht club areas...was mixed at best. Enjoyed the Sports bar and other than a occasional cocktail in main Atrium to basically people watch....after my 1x walk through to see all of ship....Always so happy to retreat to YC -
Thinking of trying MSC Yacht Club - need suggestions

Give me a break....A cruise isn't 100% about the kids. I cruised with my children for 20 years as they grew up. Plenty of balanced activities for family and adults on non Disney lines. And yes we usually purchased drink package and gambled. Also..have you cruised on Disney?? You could cruise 2x on other lines for what you would pay for a1 cruise on Disney lines -
Just how much of a problem ARE interlopers in the YC?
lcpagejr replied to mafig's topic in MSC Cruises
Cruised in YC twice... Very few if any interlopers. If anything I saw kids bringing in friends but staff quickly asked them to leave. After a day or 2...staff on Pool deck recognize most guest and I feel are quick to act on non YC guests. A few years ago they di allow a small amount (controlled) of non YC guests to purchase day passes but I have heard this practice has stopped -

Way over priced and of course no gambling. -

lcpagejr replied to tori0417's topic in MSC Cruises
Totally disagree. Cabins are larger than a regular balconey cabin on other lines and the bathroom is larger with a huge shower.... These aren't suites as you may think...they are large balconey cabins with more room than most -

We cruised in Yacht Club (Seaside) and took our grandson when he was 8. He went in hot tub and pool when we were lounging in Yacht Club pool deck. However he also spent alot of time in the Jungle Pool themed area which was near the Sports court. They were very close to Yacht Club. I think you should expect to take your kids to the activities and slides throughout ship and not expect to stay exclusively in YC -
Always have cruised with just a DL and BC....over 20 Carribean cruises (Eastern, western and southern) including Panama. Never a issue. Recently got Passport Card...Just more convenient and not worry about taking BC. Also another advantage of Passport Card...when ever Real ID become mandatory...Passport Card can be used if you haven't upgraded your DL

Marriage License If using birth certificate question
lcpagejr replied to ddlb's topic in MSC Cruises
My wife and I have cruised over 20x on numerous cruiselines using a DL and BC....Never once was I asked to show our Marriage Certificate...although I always brought it along -
If Yacht Club is sold out, could it become available again?
lcpagejr replied to kaz828's topic in MSC Cruises
Check right around 90 days before sailing....thats when final payments are due. After that time period...check up to 30 days before sailing as some cabins being held by agencies are released.I realize this leaves you little planning time on flights...but this is how we booked a YC cabin....approc 30-60 days out after being shown sold out for months -
Usually you give the passport agency the original copy of BC when applying for Passport which is later returned. You may need to request a certified copy prior to your cruise

I have nothing but fond memories of Seaside ...Cruised her in YC in 2018 and 2019. Great staff and beautiful ship. MSC will get her right. I think part of the downfall were them going to 3/4 day cruises to compete with the "big" boys. When we began cruising MSC always 7+ day cruises.... We are on Seascape , in YC, over Thanksgiving and we can't wait to experience the YC and MSC again

Are MSC's Voyager's Club membership perks nearly worthless?
lcpagejr replied to Stockjock's topic in MSC Cruises
5% discount is nice...plus you receive another 5% if you book 9 or more months early. So 10% off best fare isn't a bad incentive -
Panorama Aft Havana Balcony - I Would Not Book Again
lcpagejr replied to pppiglet's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
When we cruised on Vista about 7 years ago...I recall soot falling on us while we lounged by pool in Havana area.... They immediately cleaned the area....I don't recall it happening more than once -

If they were your kids and both you and your wife were on cruise....whats the purpose of letter???? You wouldn't need it -
Why would that make a difference??? They always ask to see your card so they have your information. Granted I've only cruised MSC in Yacht Club...but other cruiselines dining rooms could careless whether you have drink package or not as they always ask for your card atleast at the beginning of cruise. I wouldn't wory about it

all valid points... But they have assisted me for the few yimes I called.... They just don't ticket and say bye-bye. I guessIm a little anal in that I want to make sure I am getting best deal and I don't have faith in allowing a 1 TA to do my booking.... I get 4-5 quotes, look at what kickers they are giving me,,,, and then make my decision. I noticed you referenced Oceania.. is this why. Because I can tell you from experience if I book through the MSC and RCCL websites rarely do I receive the same OBC, Free grat's, etc as I do when booking thru a internet online agency

Food Quality From RCL Ship to Ship
lcpagejr replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We loved the food on Odyssey this past November. Wife and I agreed the beef dishes may have been the best beef prep/taste in our 20+ cruises
