  1. I would also like to see NA wine available onboard. I know that one bottle per person can be carried onboard, but it would be nice to have this available onboard also.
  2. I am Diamond on Royal, Diamond on Carnival and Sapphire on NCL. I have also cruised on Holland America. I agree with those who say there are pluses and minuses on all of the cruise lines. Carnival and Royal are my favorite lines, as my last several cruises on NCL were very “loud.” Everywhere I went there seemed to be loud music blaring. I had to retreat to my cabin for peace and quiet. I know Carnival has gotten a reputation as having party boats, and that just isn’t so on the longer cruises. At this point all of my future cruises are on Carnival except my first Celebrity cruise coming up. I’m glad there are some Royal loyalists who are willing to give Carnival a try. I recommend a longer cruise, 10+ days, and one of the newer ships.
  3. Back then they used to have a “book on board” desk where you could book a future cruise or just purchase a future cruise certificate.
  4. A special dinner at the steakhouse would be a good way to celebrate. If you go on the first night, each table gets a free bottle of wine.
  5. You also wouldn’t have gone through customs/immigration so your entry into the USA wouldn’t have been official.
  6. The short answer is probably not. This topic is discussed often and some people report being able to do a “downline disembark,” which is what it’s called. I have personally been declined when I requested this as have many other people who have reported on Cruise Critic. You could give it a try, but it would have to arranged in advance. You can’t just pack your bags and get off in Hawaii. Good luck if that’s what you’re wanting to do.
  7. They haven’t offered those for quite a few years.
  8. I just had no problem signing in. All of my cruises are showing and pre-purchased items are also showing. I hope the issues others are having will be solved soon.
  9. I was on the Splendor twice last summer (July and August) and had the same naturalist. She is a college student studying in Fairbanks who was doing this as a summer job. They also had her in the “Liar’s Club.”
  10. Yes, you can buy extra 12 packs of bottled water and 6 packs of soda, as many as you want for the same price as pre-cruise. Room service delivers them and will charge a small delivery charge.
  11. Tracy Arm. I’m not sure any of Carnival’s Alaska cruises are going to Glacier Bay.
  12. There was one on the Splendor in July and August of 2022.
  13. I know that nonrefundable OBC can be used to buy Carnival gift cards at Cherries on Top. I don’t know whether this is a limit on how much can be purchased, but I have done that on the last several cruises.
  14. The laundry comes back to you in the same kind of bag you send it out in, folded. If you fill the bag way to the top, the laundry often comes back in 2 bags. I give the cabin steward an extra tip at the end for their extra service, including laundry pickup/delivery.
  15. I’ll answer your questions the best I can. 1. You can request cold water for your wash, but it’s doubtful they will honor that request. Many passengers’ laundry is washed at the same time and hot water is used to sanitize the laundry. Your wash will be in a mesh bag co-mingled with others. 2. I have used wash and press for individual items, and they came back nicely pressed. I suspect they’re also washed in hot water and doubt they take the time to follow label instructions. 3. I have never heard of 5 bags for $50 and never seen it offered. I believe the current price is $20 per bag, but I may be wrong since I have unlimited wash and fold included with diamond benefits. The bags are indeed smaller than they used to be, but it’s still possible to get quite a bit in the bag if you roll the items tightly, right up to the top of the bag. Don’t include anything that is delicate or requires special handling. Hope this help.
  16. Yes, OBC can be used prior to boarding. When you order something in your planner you have the option to use OBC or pay by credit card.
  17. Yes, mz-s is correct. The platinum perk is only for bags. The service is called “wash and fold” and no other service can be substituted. Steaming or pressing is charged per piece.
  18. I swear by my PVP and I book all my Carnival cruises through him. Although it’s easy enough to book them myself, I like the fact that he is very knowledgeable and helpful, and if any issues arise, he’s there to help. Also, sometimes he finds an offer I hadn’t seen or a cabin he thinks is better than the one I had in mind, and I appreciate his expertise. He is my third PVP, and he’s a winner! Always returns calls and texts promptly. The first PVP I had left Carnival about 8-10 years ago, second one wasn’t at all helpful. Now I have a top-notch PVP.
  19. I wouldn’t book a flight before Noon. Seattle traffic is notoriously heavy, and as mentioned before, TSA lines can be long, as can check-in lines.
  20. Did they give you any other options besides 11256? They are both connecting cabins. Being on deck 11 would be more attractive if the cabin was non-connecting.
  21. Thanks to all of you who have responded. It helps to know what to expect.
  22. Sounds like you got a good cabin assignment. What ship is this on?
  23. 9:39 - 10:00 is the most likely time for “last call.”
